  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) So sad. Right now, San Fran-San Diego is getting my viewing attention over this game. They just aren't enjoyable to watch. The over/under in that game was way low, at 8, considering Zito's on the mound.
  2. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 03:11 AM) Look on the bright side: we'll probably get to see Corky Miller and maybe even Brent Lillibridge tomorrow. There's just no swagger on this team
  3. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 03:09 AM) base running and still can't do run down correctly... what do these coaches get paid to do? For all the crap Walker takes, there's no coach that has underperformed more than Jeff Cox.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 03:06 AM) All it took was a knuckleballer and a pitcher making his MLB debut to make him look somewhat like a major leaguer. At this point, I'll take anything positive on offense. Things are bleak with this offense, and we face some real good pitchers coming up. That 4 gamer in Tampa is scary so early. Longoria is a monster!
  5. Good grief...just terrible baseball instincts on this team. That's like 7 outs on the bases already.
  6. SAVE THE BALL! All said, good swings by Wise tonight.
  7. Wow, can't believe Wise is allowed to bat here. He's absolutely terrible vs LHP.
  8. QUOTE (tommy @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 03:01 AM) The more I see AJ the more I hate watching him bat. He's so stiff at the plate. It seems like it would be impossible for him to pull a ball with authority.
  9. Ugh, so many weak, defensive swings by our players.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:59 AM) I see Dwayne Wise is still on our major league roster. Solid. Hopefully he's pulled this inning.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:58 AM) I'd say not capitalizing falls under the "we're not playing very well right now." Sure they make an error, but we can't hit the side of a barn to take advantage of it. Guys are pressing so hard when they have men on base.
  12. Good job by Clayton...time for the god awful 7-8-9 to get something going this year.
  13. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 02:55 AM) fundamentals of this team just continue to amaze me, seriously, is there another team as bad fundamentally all around as we've been the last couple years? 5 throws for a pick-off, balks, hilarious To make matters worse, it was a catcher running.
  14. Definitely a balk....our team is doing all the little things that prevent you from winning games. Bad defense, bad base running, bad timely hitting...at least Ozzie's been doing a good job so far(sincere)
  15. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 02:49 AM) easy inning for dickey, maybe its shut down time for our bats They'll probably bring a lefty reliever in next inning.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:43 AM) He's got at least an inning left in him and is improving each inning. He seemed to get a good feel for his slider towards the end. He's going to have to start throwing that cutter to lefties though, as they were all over his fastball.
  17. That should be it for Jose. Thankfully he was able to get out of jams and keep us in the game.
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:38 AM) Jose will get better i think, but you are right...it is close....Richard could always go out and give up 8 in 1.2...who knows It's weird how little Contreras is throwing his forkball. That's the pitch he's made all of his money due to. Probably should pull him now and let him go out with a decent frame of mind.
  19. Honest question: who do you think gives us a better chance if they start a game this year, Contreras or Richard? I'm torn on this.
  20. Why in the world is the infield in there?
  21. No surprise there...Contreras has been begging to get crushed with that mediocre fastball tonight.
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:31 AM) Its adjustments to the adjustments that will make or break a young players sophomore year. And hitting the ball to the left field concourse isn't the way to go about doing it.
  23. Extremely difficult 2-3-4 coming up for Contreras here. Seems like the 5th could be a turning point in this game.
  24. Leaving way too many runners on base, especially with our big hitters up. Quentin's just awful this year when he tries to pull the ball. His only two good swings were on pitches he drove up the middle and to right center.
