3/27/09 Sox @ Cubs, 3:05 WGN/WSCR
First three players single against Richard. And yes DA, it's pathetic Owens hasn't had his fate determined already.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) I would give Marquez back to the Yankees for Melky. I think Melky is overrated, but Marquez might be a mediocre long man some day. The big plus about getting Melky is Owens and Wise are probably both off the roster. Now if there was someone to take Lillibridge and Miller off as well. Yankees were so down on Marquez after last season, I don't think they'd have any interest.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
It will be entertaining watching Corky look retarded at the plate facing the likes of Liriano this season.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
Hawk and Stone not exactly glowing about Marquez. Makes me think he's not going to be on the 25 man roster to start the year.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
Marquez's best pitch so far looks like his change-up. His "sinker" is underwhelming. He'll make good #3 starter this year.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) Don't tell me Thome got thrown out too trying to stretch his hit into a double? That looks a lot like the last few seasons, 3 hits and one run in an inning. Nope, tried to take 2nd on a wild pitch.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
Nice hit by Thome, followed by just awful base running.

I love the bball IQ shown by Getz so far.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) Lillibridge may steal 40 bases according to KW. I never realized they figured out a way to steal first base. The real question should be if Lillibridge should start in AA or AAA. He was overmatched in AAA last season.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
Wise thrown out by a mile trying to get a triple. This team is a terrible base running team so far. Oh, and Wise is faster than Owens.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 08:12 PM) No way. He's the second coming of Jon Garland. After the Masset-Jenks comparisons that were made, I'm just going to ignore comparisons made by the front office.

White Sox vs Arizona 3-26 spring game
First time seeing Marquez pitch...he has no room for error, as his velocity is right at 90 mph. Really hope he starts off in AAA and not on the MLB squad.

Anyone else see Anna Kournikova on the Jimmy Fallon Show last night? Holy cow, she looked amazing!

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 03:59 AM) SDSU really rushed the court for winning a NIT game where they were a higher seed? I've heard rumors that Alabi might go pro....what's your view on this?

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 02:09 AM) NC State is desperate for talent, their top 3 scorers are leaving off of a mediocre squad. Heard WF is a player. GT might get a visit, but they're waiting for a big man transfer instead.

Rosenthal: Melky Cabrera is on the block; Sox would be good fit
QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) Almost, deal fell through. Anyone know how Melky's D is? How's his arm? One of the best arms you'll ever see in CF. However, he's pretty overrated offensively, and will likely require Poreda or more.

3/25 - Oakland @ Sox
Lilliquist was a much, much better hitter.

Pitching to Ichiro with an open base in that situation with a righty on deck might be the worst managerial move in the history of baseball.

Eastbound and Down
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 02:43 AM) This was definitely the funniest episode of the season. There were more laugh out loud moments, for me, then the previous five episodes combined. The entire sushi restaurant conversation with April and moment where the Tampa scout talks to Kenny were hilarious. My favorite was him calling April a "beautiful b****"

Eastbound and Down
Just an amazing finale, I thought. April's getting hotter every episode, even if those weren't her tits.

Oakland A's versus CHISOX (3/22)
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 02:57 AM) Wow, what a brutal box score. I see Brent Lillibridge -- who's only purpose on the ML squad would be his defense -- committed 2 errors today he now has 3 on the spring, he also K'd a few times putting his spring BB/K at 1/20 extrapolate that over 600 AB and it comes out to 12 walks compared to 240 strikeouts. I'm not sure I've ever seen a .05 BB/K before. Hey, if he goes 0-4 w/ 4 K in his next game (hardly out of the realm of possibility) he'll have twice as many K's as total bases. I believe that's the definition of overmatched. Tonight's Chicagosports article says he's leading for the utility spot.

Chris Stewart traded to NYY
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 02:45 AM) Corky has outhit Brinkman .176 to .172. They are basically the same. KW did the near impossible, he downgraded from a torn labrumed Toby Hall. It's amazing how he did nothing to upgrade the CF/leadoff position or the back-up catching position. Like you said, he basically did the near impossible this offseason.

WBC # 2
Good call by D. Johnson leaving Oswalt in to die in the 4th inning.
