Nice hustle by Dye...turning a single into a double for Aviles. Pull the starters off the field.
-
Oh Boone, such a mental midget. Just no effort on the field tonight by far too many players.
-
It's a 4 run game, so it's Boone. If it was like a 1 run game, then we'd see HoRam.
-
Yep, good effort by Floyd tonight, but let's get him out of there.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 01:44 AM) I think Tampa/Boston fans are praying they see us in the ALDS. Indians are playing some great baseball right now. If we're in a situation where we have to win 2 of 3 to make the playoffs, that might be difficult.
-
Should Floyd still be in this game?
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 01:41 AM) Does that explain how the other 17 outs have not led to any runs? Blaming a shutout on one player is a copout. No, but switching around your lineup to something that make no sense is just stupid. Nothing like having AJP and Dye bat consecutively.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 01:39 AM) Is Davies 6IP, 2H, 0ER good? No. His fastball is straight and his breaking ball is hanging half of the time. They're pressing against crap. It's embarrassing watching games like this when you KNOW Minnesota lost and you can put 3 1/2 games behind yourself and Minnesota. Are they obsessed with making that Minnesota series matter? After Yesterday I would have believed differently, but this is just bad. Can they actually surprise us and win a game at Minnesota when it counts? It would do wonders for my blood pressure if we win tomorrow and the Twins lose (not likely with Liriano vs Sonn).

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 01:34 AM) The team that is chasing you lost tonight. So instead of attacking, and putting it to the 5th place team in your division less than 10 games to go. You go into, well the only way we can score is if the ball leaves the yard mode. Sad. I was so optimistic after OC's leadoff single. Everyone on the bench seemed into the game and excited. One pitch later, and it just seemed we were finished. Leave DW in the f***ing 2nd spot!

QUOTE (chisoxfan79 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 01:31 AM) The Hell with this Im gonna find something more constructive to do on a Sat nite this team gets down on the road and they just fold up the tent and call it a day But...but..but....they got a pep talk!

QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) I'm pretty sure that's 3rd string catcher Koye Hill. Good catch
-
Worst offensive performance of the season.
-
Juan quickly has gone into a 1-12 slump.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:21 AM) There ya go, Gavin. Like we said in the Yankees series, 3 runs should be manageable from your pitcher (especially if they're on 3 days rest).
-
Griffey with warning track power. Disappointing effort tonight....this is just a crappy road team.
-
Just pull Floyd now. Give him some rest. Everything is floating up to the plate.
-
Floyd seems to be throwing a lot more sliders than overhand curves tonight. To put it nicely, that slider isn't nearly as good as his hook is.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:00 AM) Without a doubt. I just finally have a chance to jump all over Griffey, so I'm taking advantage of it. At least you can admit it.
-
I'm upset with Griffey, but let's face that, that ITPH was all on Dye. Anytime he wants to help this team this month, it will be more than welcomed.
-
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:57 AM) Griffey is not as bad as Mack was, sorry. This is true
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 11:55 PM) When Mackowiak was out there, there were tons of posts each day asking for the head of Ozzie for marching him out there. Funny how the defense (and offense for that matter) is worse, but there are less posts given the players name. You know I'm with you...Anderson should be starting in CF every game.
-
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:53 AM) Guillen should get fired if he is managing games based on the week ahead. With the way the bullpen has been the last month, there was no way you could go to them in that close of a ballgame. At that point in time, Floyd gave them the best chance to win in that situation. No, you should know I want him to manage one game at a time. I've been upset when we've pulled pitchers early cause of upcoming 4 man rotation plans. However, if a guy does throw a lot of pitches (I read somewhere he threw the most he's had all season), then you have to just push him back to normal rest.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) Bulls***. Anyone that knows what they're doing in CF actually backs up their corner outfielders, as opposed to just picking dandelions out in center while letting the batter round at his will. When they showed the view from the 3rd base dugout, Griffey didn't even move until the very end.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) Yeah... that is one of the slowest RF/CF combos in the history of baseball.
-
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) This is just unacceptable from Floyd. You see Minnesota has lost, this late in the season, and you're giving up this crap? It has to be treated as a playoff game. Offense included. We should have atleast 4 runs on the board by the 6th inning, and if Floyd has any balls this is where it ends with the runs. Kc sucks. I just don't know if Floyd is mentally ready to handle pitching on short rest. That's not a knock on him, as he's been our MVP of the staff.
