Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) That isn't true at all. I'm really not a Bulls fan, but I know this fact to be untrue. There was an article right before the deadline, and I wish I remember where from, that said Bosh has told people he wants to go to Chicago. I've also had this confirmed by one of his GT buddies.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (rangercal @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 04:04 AM) I find that very hard to believe if Wade wants to sign here, cap room is available and Lebron or Bosh is not an option. 1. Bosh is choice number one, followed by Amare. Bosh also says that the Bulls are his first choice. 2. The Bulls, and rightfully so, know that Rose and Wade couldn't co-exist in the same backcourt.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 03:59 AM) If Wade tests FA in 2010 and we don't offer him the deal, I'll kick someone. The Bulls have zero interest in Wade. That's a fact straight from someone very, very close to Wade.

That was a crazy ending....VDN continues to draw up terrible plays at the end of games.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) Lillibridge honestly deserves to be nowhere near this team his defensive versatility might win him a backup role though He hit .220 in AAA last season...what the hell were people expecting him to do? The Braves considered him a throw-in.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) Q just shook his wrist after that swing. Oh boy...that's interesting, as I heard a very unconfirmed rumor that the wrist is bugging him this ST. That's why I asked last week about how his health has been reported.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:55 PM) JVB is simply not very good. The Pirates can have him back. Agreed, he's terrible. Coop can't fix everyone. JVB really should reconsider trying hitting, or he's going to be out of baseball soon.

QUOTE (BFirebird @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) But can Wise lead off? Or would it be whoever starts at 2b? Not sure if Wise can...but Owens sure can't.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) Well it's either him or Wise. I'm not sure which I want to be completely honest. Wise, I honestly believe, would be the better call.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Lillibridge and Getz get down the line faster. I've also never seen a base stealer stumble so many times while getting his jump as Owens. Owens gets himself tied up when he swings, which makes it harder for him to get down the line. Good call on Getz, he's definitely quick.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) Owens isnt even that fast on a baseball field. He really is a bad baseball player. With that swing, he cant break .250 I love that someone else notices the same thing about his speed on the field. Guys like Ozuna and Wise are much faster getting down the line and going from 1st to 3rd.

Did anyone else see the highlight NBC showed on Saturday night of Jerry Owens' sliding catch? Holy cow, it was a horrible route to the ball.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 08:04 PM) Dye has been running in quick sand this entire spring. That ball was probably 30 feet away from where he started. He looks slower than ever so far, and his bat speed also has been really poor. It's a shame we couldn't trade him for Bailey, as he's looked very good.

Anyone else wish we still had...
Neal Cotts in 2005 had the luckiest season ever. He's a lefty who throws nothing but high fastballs, and he managed to give up only one homer the whole season.

Swisher Trade Revisited (My how times have changed)
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) It's gotten so bad for Brandon that he's begun changing his repertoire in an attempt to stay healthy. He's ditched his curve in favor of a slider. Isn't he hurt already this ST?

ST: 3/06 White Sox vs. Australia
QUOTE (BFirebird @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) Like???? Who will be out there next year? No idea, but they can't keep doing this every single season. If none of these guys pan out this year, then they either have to sign someone or use their resources to acquire one.

ST: 3/06 White Sox vs. Australia
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) Not only that, but the Sox are shedding a ton of payroll after this year, they can supplement with quality FAs if needed or keep some of the guys around LIKE A LEGIT LEADOFF MAN/CENTER FIELDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ST: 3/06 White Sox vs. Australia
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 09:42 PM) Quentin has said he's fine for months and we haven't heard anything negative about him rehabbing or complaining about hurt. His timing just looks to be off to me. Please don't get on me for saying this, but the last thing to return to players with wrist injuries is their power. Hopefully Quentin doesn't press too much.

Agreed, you have to wonder if McCarthy's going to always have injury issues.

ST: 3/06 White Sox vs. Australia
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Dayan seems a bit more patient than the typicaly Cuban. Albeit its on a very small sample size. The game I saw on Sunday would make me disagree. He was swinging at everything. Any reports on Quentin's health so far this year? Oh, and seeing Beckham, Ramirez, Quentin, and Viciedo bat in an inning is definitely boner-inducing.

ST: 3/06 White Sox vs. Australia
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 10:22 PM) The best thing about a top 10 pick is: you normally end up with an excellent trade chip a year after the draft. Regardless of whether or not your pick turns out to be a bust 4 years after the draft, with a good first year in the minors that player gains incredible trade value come July. Look at Vitters...he sucked out of the gate in professional baseball, and then strung together a few good months. This offseason, the Cubs had one of the best trade chips around with him.
