  1. I said this in chat, and I'm sure it will annoy some people: after seeing their energy in a pennant race, it doesn't surprise me that Thome and Griffey Jr. don't have a World Series ring.
  2. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) It's the kind of team that makes me want to run a marathon or something. Damn, I'm fired up just watching their joy and energy. It's why I always laugh when people say Ozzie is a great motivator. This is a worse level of corpseball coming down the stretch than Manuel could have ever dreamed of.
  3. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) Seriously. I mean, talk about loose. Swish makes this team so loose. I mean, they're so loose, they look comatose. That's how good Swish is at this stuff. He's like the new Max Patkin, Clown Prince of Baseball. Thanks, Swish. Between Swisher and Ozzie, this is the loosest, most motivated team in history!
  4. QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) His season has to rank as one of the worst in franchise history, right? Doubtful
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) Home, away, neutral. Bad. His home stats are good.
  6. Has anyone looked at Swisher's away stats this year? Holy cow, he f***ing sucks. .185 batting average and an OPS not close to .600.
  7. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Thanks, Dan Wheeler. Maybe TB can come back. That game haunts me.
  8. Twins likely did what they had to, and split the series.
  9. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 07:38 PM) Hope you got a shutout in you Johnny or we're going up ther 1 1/2 up. Not a good time for Uribe to go into a funk.
  10. Didn't take long for the Twins to tie it up. Joe Mauer is just amazing right now.
  11. I agree Ozzie is a bad manager, but you can't claim that as a fact. An opinion is not a fact, period.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 06:22 PM) But, but Mike North always said that we won 10 games with Orton in 2005. So he was good for that reason. Right? I swear I was the only person who remembered a win against the Saints in which we openly questioned what team he was playing for.
  13. Wow Wise, good for you! Tags up and scores on a pop up to SS.
  14. Wow, you don't see that very often. Umpire costs Wise a double or triple.
  15. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 07:07 PM) This game is the main reason I can't latch onto this team, or franchise for that matter. If I was born in Ohio, and looked at the Bears from an outsider, I would laugh. I think the most frustrating aspect is ownership seems to build the team around what they think the fans want in "smash mouth football", which really means s*** QB play, and an overachieving defense. It's like grinderball
  16. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 05:58 PM) The Bears offense is horrendous. I don't want to think about what it'd be without Forte. I hope everyone that begged for Orton is happy.
  17. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 02:51 AM) Its funny. Kenny talked a good game about grinders, and playing like the twins, and how we will play like the twins. Then he keeps assembling the same offense. Hell he trades a line drive type, to get a low BA power guy. He loves him some power hitters. Be careful what you wish for. I don't think we want another trade like C. Lee for Pods (in terms of talent). I don't even want to think about what we'll give up for Chone.
  18. Here's a problem...Brian Anderson is just as good offensively as Griffey Jr. is now, and he's clearly the superior defender. We keep treating Griffey Jr. like he's the 1998 version and not the Willie Mays on the Mets version. Seriously, Griffey Jr. has one homer since he's been with the Sox. In roughly 10 more at bats, Toby Hall has more homers than Griffey Jr. does! Also, why not give Dye a day off instead of benching Konerko?
