  1. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:14 AM) Thats what gives me hope , at least as far as going into Minn. Yanks are way better than that team and we're at least hanging. and yea, imagine what OUR era would be facing that division constantly 5th place baby (that's not an insult to our team, the Blue Jays would likely win the AL Central).
  2. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) Where would the Yankees as presently constituted place in the AL Central? First, no doubt. Everyone says their pitching sucks, but their team ERA is like 4.32.
  3. Go Tampa, and this offense needs to wake the f*** up. We shouldn't have to freak out when Vazquez gives up 3 runs to the Yankees. If we don't start hitting, there's no doubt the Twins will sweep us next week.
  4. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:08 AM) True. Though having a healthy Crede, Linebrink and Paulie wouldve made a big difference too. Everybody has injuries though. Just pissed it was our MVP. Agreed...don't forget Contreras.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:06 AM) Seriously, Justin, can you beat the s*** out of your bat so they lose you?! Even things up a bit. One could argue that losing Neshek for basically all the season is worse for them than the Sox losing CQ for a month.
  6. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 01:06 AM) Ozzie really should sit JD's ass for a game and give him a rest. He just doesn't have a clue up there right now. He has no balance at the plate. All he's doing is hitting weak pop ups to the right side.
  7. Twins score, 5-4, no one out. Mauer and Morneau are acting like they're in a pennant race. Maybe Jermaine will do that too.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 01:02 AM) s*** - KC has won 7 straight. nothing is ever easy! Just be happy we don't face Greinke or Meche.
  9. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) IMO, you pull Javy if the yankees score again, and let Carrasco pitch into the 5th or 6th, and take your chances with what's left in our pen I don't want Javy ending the year playoffs or not, on arm fatigue I agree that we should have him on a short leash, and let him rest up for the Twins series.
  10. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:56 AM) you can say that for about half our team. Just strugglin on O Seems to happen every year. You have to wonder about our strength/conditioning program, as this is obviously not just a PED thing.
  11. Here's my question, and trust me, I'm not a BA lover: Hawk was saying how Walker told him two weeks ago that Brian Anderson has found his swing, and he's going to do a lot of damage at the plate. Why aren't we looking for ways to get him in the lineup? As much as I'm aware that Ozzie has a personal issue with him, it still seems like he needs to be playing more than once a week.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:48 AM) Not to mention the appearance of Joe Borchard, I think, before Blum. I swear that ball that Jenks gave up gets a little more elevation (the game clincher) and you had the feeling the season was lost...that was a very nerve-wracking save!!! I remember leaving work to go watch the clincher at Outback Steakhouse. Crede botched a routine grounder, and you're right, Polanco's liner sure looked like a double.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) At this time in 2005, things were awful. Sox got hot with about 6 days left in the regular season, and rode the wave. I'm not comparing this team to the 2005 squad, but just a little perspective. Things can change very quickly. We had a nice 3 game stretch vs the Twins at home when their lineup was just awful. Then we went to Detroit, and lost two heartbreakers. One was on a walkoff by Granderson, and then Blum hit into a game ending 1-2-3 DP. Thankfully, we won 16 of our next 17!!
  14. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) finally now with the stakes up, Hawk gets a little critical of the players. Javy just then and yesterday, if he counts as a player, Mike Mac. What did he say? Nice to see Glenn Perkins hit the wall. He's been awful lately.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:38 AM) This much is clear...the White Sox are "dead man walking" offensively, and that doesn't promise to improve any at all with the type of pitching we're likely to encounter in the playoffs. It seems we are bound and determined to back into the playoffs rather than win it, but anything is possible I guess, after what we witnessed in 2005. This team looks the same as so many other Sox teams did coming down the stretch. We just have to hope this Twins team chokes like previous ones didn't.
  16. I really hate seeing starters go on 3 days rest, especially strikeout pitchers like Javy.
  17. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) 3-2 twins, longoria moon shot ROY
  18. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) Blew a huge opportunity there. Really let Moose off the hook. It's time to switch PK and Dye in the lineup.
  19. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) f*** me! Good play or routine grounder?
  20. BTW, nice to see OC driving the ball now for extra bases.
  21. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 12:11 AM) 3-0 Minny in the 1st. YAYA!! That series shapes up well for the Twins. The Rays are coming off of their emotional series with Boston, and the Twins face 3 righties. I'm convinced the best way to beat them is to throw any lefty you have.
  22. Dye seems to be really pressing right now. I think a day off would do him wonders.
  23. Not that anyone cares, but he would have easily been #1 on my list. The greatest closer in baseball history.
