  1. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) Would you rather have Patterson or Wise? Wise, without a doubt.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) As a fielder? No, definitely not. If Patterson's angles are bad, Wise's are awful. No, offensively and as a pinch runner. I agree, Wise is very bad on defense.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) In net differences I'd say they're about the same. They are both outstanding fielders, Patterson's probably a little better. The only real difference is that Anderson's only played one full season as a MLB starter. Patterson's defense seems like it should be much better, but he doesn't always take the best angles. I'd much rather have Anderson. Wise is better than Patterson.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) Does anyone really LOVE playing in Oakland though, besides Nick Swisher and those "thunder sticks" banging fans? Jose Valentin....not
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) Obviously, Kemp, who isn't going anywhere. Or Kershaw. Yhency Brazoban? I could see KW at least PONDERING whether to take Andruw Jones off their hands if they gave us a boatload of money to offset his contract for one year, but still unlikely. The Ethier and Loney types aren't going anywhere, either. Yhency's done with....his injuries have robbed him of his velocity. McDonald is a big time pitching prospect though with good stuff and a funky delivery.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) They also have young OF'ers. Just sayin. Ethier and Kemp
  7. QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Juan Pierre demanded a trade, BTW, according to Rosenthal Thanks for making every Sox fan's blood pressure rise.
  8. If it is the Dodgers that Rock is referring to, I want nothing to do with Hu or DeWitt.
  9. QUOTE (scenario @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) Dodgers if they lose the Manny sweepstakes. Who do they have of interest? And yes, Juan Pierre is still there. Billingsley is not an option, nor is Broxton.
  10. QUOTE (thedoctor @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 06:47 PM) i don't think he should have to defend anything yet. we've seen many teams offer trade denials before only to see the deal eventually consummated. McCoy said it would be completed later in the week. I don't know why people are freaking out that nothing was announced on the first day of the Winter Meetings.
  11. QUOTE (lord chas @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 07:16 PM) no santo thank god Amen!
  12. One thing about Sportscenter...in order for them to report something, it must be confirmed by at least 2 sources.
  13. Sportscenter reporting it like it's a fact.
  14. QUOTE (ScottPodRulez22 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 05:38 AM) He was not that bad. http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200807013044979 Yawn....Royce Clayton had a walkoff hit once
  15. QUOTE (tommy @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 04:59 AM) Care to explain? CQ = God
  16. QUOTE (BearSox @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 03:51 AM) I think Lillibridge and Getz are both pretty decent options at 2B, not to mention Betemit could play 2B in a sinch if need be. Nothing about Lillibridge's performance in 2008 makes him a viable option to start at 2B with the White Sox in 2009.
  17. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 03:50 AM) I'm kind of a Moremax man, myself. Coming up next: "Co-Ed Confidential" We now return to your nightly Jermaine Dye rumor. The greatest show in TV history!
  18. That Reds denial is weaker than denying to your wife that you were watching Cinemax.
  19. The rumor said it would be announced later in the week. Of course the teams are going to deny it right now!
  20. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 04:25 AM) I doubt we'll hear before the morning, no matter which way it goes. I bet we hear by 10 PM CST.
  21. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 03:23 AM) I'm hoping that this goes through. Maybe, just speculation here but we could bring up David Cook in ST and give him a shot at one of the corner OF spots although I'd be nervous going with him if we didn't have a backup plan. I'd be beyond stunned if he's in any of the Sox major league plans for 2009.
  22. 90 minutes until OC is potentially the biggest heel in Sox history.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) "Hey I heard you got Bailey, wanna talk about him?" Hey, go call the trib and deny that story. As well as give more leverage in any possible negotiation with a corner outfielder.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 03:55 AM) I dont agree. I think it confirms that the Sox are getting one more player besides Bailey and that the Sox are picking up some of Dye's contract. Yep, what do people expect to actually read in an article like this. KW might have quickly responded to this due to his negotiations with other parties.
