  1. QUOTE (WinningUgly85 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 04:50 AM) KW needs to call for a press conference. No seriously I want to hear it. I want him to explain why this team failed. Sure our expectations going into the season were low, looking at Detroit, but this division was ours and now we gave it up. I want to know what happened to this team. You'll be happy to know we're close to giving him a contract extension.
  2. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:47 AM) I mean we led the division for over 90% of the season, and there were times when a playoff birth seemed like a lock. Now it's poof. Didn't we know all along that we'd have to be over 3 games up coming into this series?
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:39 AM) We have zero team chemistry. I wouldn't be surprised if there was more in house fighting/problems that the media is not aware of. Absolutely...we're going to see some exposes written by Cowley in a month or so.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:43 AM) The Sox lost there hitting and pitching MVP for large chunks of the season this year. Being a 72-90 team last season, if this squad was going to compete(which it did) it was going to be a thin club, which it is. It would be hard for any team to recover from those losses, but it's devastating for a thin team like the Sox. The core of this team is still strong. It's older, but not old. The team needs more balance around our power core. It's a pretty simple concept. Again, I trust Williams can get the job done. Not to sound like SSI, but I think it's time for Walker to go.
  5. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:41 AM) I honestly can't believe this is happening right now. You can't? This was extremely predictable.
  6. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:42 AM) This is the absolute f***ing truth. Bobby hasn't been Bobby since 2006. That man is gone. I would love to have KW trade him for a huge package (I know, sounds gay) and let Thornton become the closer.
  7. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) Yeah, they fold in Minnesota in the biggest game of the series and I'm supposed to believe they're going to win the final game against Detroit? I doubt it. Does it sound right that after sweeping us they'll just lay down to KC? No, but think on the bright side...the Royals offense is leaps and bounds better than the White Sox right now. Maybe Olivo will light up their lefty pitchers? And heck, their late inning relief is better than ours.
  8. Gardenhire absolutely, positively outmanaged Ozzie this series. Check the game thread for my post about Span at the end. Arguably one of the dumbest decisions in baseball history.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) Come on fathom, those losers has nothing to do with them. They are going to have their own problems in the postseason. At least they'll be in it though, beats what we have. I don't know, just a terrible vibe. Kinda like when the Sox blew that game against the Royals on opening day back in 2004...I knew my Yellow Jackets had no chance against UCONN later in that night in the national championship (of course, Okafor/Gordon/Villanueva/Boone might have had something to do with it).
  10. QUOTE (oz615 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:36 AM) yeah i still wanna see an all Chicago series dammit The Cubs would beat the crap out of the Sox if we don't have Quentin.
  11. I'll support this...at least we're at home.
  12. With the tone this week has set, it's setting up for something very bad to happen in a month from now.
  13. Well, this is the worst, most inaccurate title of a game thread in history. Close this thread, and let's start the game thread in a few hours with more positivity.
  14. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:27 AM) Let me guess, you're wearing your "This thing isn't over" hat aren't you? It's still not. Like I said earlier, don't be an ass to people who disagree with you (not a personal attack, just some friendly advice from someone who's been through it once or twice).
  15. Too early for this thread...there will be plenty of time to talk about this in 3 days. As of now, we're still theoretically tied.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) Span would of scored on that single either way. You mean Punto? That wasn't the point. We basically just handed Punto the chance to be 90 feet away from scoring on one worthless pitch to a guy we should have never considered pitching to.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:27 AM) Williams needs to be gone too. If they investigate the Wilder stuff more, he will be.
  18. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:26 AM) f*** you Ozzie for your pathetic handling of Griffey in CF, Wise, and Dye in the #3 spot. We can only pray he calls someone a bad name tonight and gets fired.
  19. Having Jenks throw that one pitch to Span is one of the dumbest f***ing decisions I've ever seen. What was Ozzie trying to get out of it? All it did was put Jenks in a situation where he couldn't throw a hard hook due to fear of the wild pitch scoring the runner from 3rd base. If you saw his two curves to Casilla, they were both get me overs. I can't wait for a new version of the White Sox in 2009. 2005 was great and all, but that ship has f***ing sailed.
  20. Great...fire everyone.
  21. Casilla hits a lot of balls in the 1st and 2nd base hole. Ramirez really needs to move over more.
  22. f*** YOU OZZIE! If you're going to walk him so easily, then why even have Jenks throw a pitch?
  23. There's no reason to pitch to Span here. His run doesn't mean anything.
  24. Thinking back on it, that run we gave them cause Griffey was in CF in the 1st inning hurts.
  25. Walk Span, and go after Casilla.
