  1. OC's defense tonight has been horrific.
  2. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) Jenks curveball is terrible. It's amazing to watch 2005 WS highlights, and then compare it to the stuff we see now.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) The Dodgers need pitching big time if they want to stay in the race in the NL West, perhaps they'd have interest in Contreras... It's all been a fantasy of mine to somehow get Ethier as well. So we're going to trade from a position where we have no possible replacements for a guy who plays at positions we have stars at?
  4. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:37 AM) If you are just talking about this series, fine, but all together, Patterson doesn't even come close to Quentin, and Ramirez is better than either DeRosa/Fontenot/Cedano/etc. I'd take Derosa over Ramirez
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:35 AM) If you watched no games this whole year except these last 3 on mute and you didn't look at any stats that pop up at the bottom, I wouldn't know if I wanted Patterson or Quentin, honestly. CQ's been fine this wknd, just stop
  6. Nice hit by Thome...we might want to play him on Tuesday night.
  7. Wow, Crede continues his dreadful weekend. You want to see what position caused the sweep....Aramis has destroyed Crede
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) I think the Cubs will just go out and get a guy like Paul Byrd from the Indians, a vet, and in the offseason, sign Sabathia. Byrd wouldn't be an upgrade...they'll go for the biggest names out there.
  9. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) Cubs got no one to trade for him. They got big hype prospect who have proven nothing. He ain't going to the Cubs unless they give up Vitters + more and they ain't giving up Vitters who is having issues in the minors. They could do what the Astros did when they got Tejada. Something like C.C. for Murton, Hill, Ceda, Veal, Colvin
  10. I think Dotel's trying to hit him.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) I'd actually hope they do give him up, for the Sox sake in the future- as long as it's not to the Cubs. I know Philly has this Carrasco guy. He's 20, SP, and is probably their best prospect. We don't play Cleveland much in the 2nd half.
  12. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:12 AM) Ramirez and Patterson sure had no problems hitting homeruns. We just get the benefit of warning track outs. It's like playing at the Twinkie Dome.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:09 AM) If the Cubs get Sabathia, nobody will stop them until maybe the Red Sox, and even they couldn't if NL gets home-field. Now, if the Phils get Sabathia, the Cubs will go down to them in the NLCS in 4. Do the Phillies have anyone to even offer? In many ways, I hope the Indians stay close enough to the pack in the AL Central so they don't give up C.C.
  14. Some real good swings against Dempster this inning.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:58 AM) I know the 2 series's leading up to the ASB are @ KC and @ TEX, and I know the 2 series's following the ASB are KC and TEX. Then I think we go to MIN then DET (or is that vice versa). I noticed that 7 game trip at Twins/Tigers. That could be the make or break point of the season.
  16. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:56 AM) note - if it wasnt the Cubs but some other team that was the best in baseball, we'd probably be extracting some positives until today the offense kept being better than it had been previously Danks continues to be tough first game coulda gone either way, OC's near homer, et Again, if it wasnt the Cubs, infuriation wouldnt set in as easily We're going to lose our 9th straight road games....there's nothing positive about this weekend.
  17. How's our strength of schedule after the ASB? I know we've played the Angels a lot, but we still have a lot of games against Boston. On the other hand, we have a ton of games against the Royals.
  18. Please don't put Vazquez out there....he throws enough pitches over the course of the season as it is.
  19. Dempster or Volquez will be the NL starter at the All-star game. With the success the Cubs are having at home, I really hope the AL wins.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:52 AM) Has a first place team at this stage of the season ever been as streaky? WIns and losses continue in bunches. North for a while; south for a while. Absolutely maddening baseball. Have you seen the Diamondbacks lately?
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:51 AM) That at least looked pretty lofting in the Chicago air into the leftfielder's mitt. The Sox truly suck during the games I've seen them on TV. Then do us a favor and sacrifice your viewing rights, as that will get them on a good streak again.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:50 AM) Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but are you saying the Twins are far superior to the Sox? Seriously, I hope he wasn't.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:50 AM) I don't get why we're all worked up. I've been told a loss is fine even if we're still in first and even if it's vs. the Cubs. Just stop, no reason to provoke "them".
  24. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 01:49 AM) After we lose tonight and are 41-34, just pretend that 10 games ago we were 31-34 and are in the midst of 10-game win streak. HAHA. PS the Twins have to be loving this, a Sox team once against pissing on their legs and far superior Twins team creeping up right on their tails waiting to overtake them. Twins are superior?
