It's Seattle....which means it's Brian Anderson time!

White Sox Winner!!!
More than anything, I'm thrilled we rocked Gio so I don't have to hear everyone say how we should have kept the next Sandy Koufax.

Anyone play Little League World Series for Wii yet? Played it last night, it's a lot of fun.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) I believed you too, thought is was odd but as bad as the NL is I thought it was possible based on interleague. Your Konerko crack was a joke too right? Of course...PK seems like family to me. Kinda like the uncle who always seems to be in a bad mood.

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 10:01 PM) Ummm....no. Mets, Phillies, Braves, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Arizona and LA also have positive run differential in addition to the Qubs. It was a joke Betsy...sorry, I should use green more.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) i have no idea what is gonna happen with dwayne wise once we need another starter and linebrink comes back up...but if he doesnt get into a game like todays, he may as well be the odd one out Rosters will be expanded by the time Linebrink returns.

Might as well take Griffey out of the game, and give him half the game off.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) going to try my hardest to make at least one of these games on the homestand coming up, and i will start the MVP chants if they aren't started already i'm actually surprised they didn't start in the last home series every BA at bat needs MVP chants at home now Fixed

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) Only 3 teams in the AL have a negative run differential. That boggles my mind And only the Cubs have a postive run differential in the NL.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) in terms of walk rate this has been konerkos best year...which is rather perplexing...im still disappointed in his power output though, but there are signs he is gaining it back Out of all the effects of a hand injury like PK has, loss of power would be the biggest.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:47 PM) Anyone else really excited about Paulie's resurgence? Getting him back is what will put the Sox over the top, imo. Its like they are going from the worst first baseman in baseball to one of the better ones (He's been looking pretty darn good, imo). Definitely looking healthy again. Nope, I'm annoyed he's doing well.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) I certainly wasn't impressed with his "stuff". Than again, I was never a huge Gio backer. Him, Fields, & Anderson were three prospects that I typically ripped. I always liked Sweeney (had doubts about him ever developing power but figured if he would he'd be an all star and if he didn't he'd be a solid player). Sweeney always reminded me a bit of Shawn Green. If Sweeney could use PEDs or use an aluminum bat, he'd be a star.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) Yours are more depressing than mine. Does that surprise you? We'll always have 2005 though

I have to say this...Gio's start today might have been the worst I've seen against the Sox in a long time.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) Remember when we were so pumped that Paulie got RBI 100 in Detroit right at the end of the season in 2005. On a HR on that Thursday clincher I think. I always think about that when I see CQ about to break 100. Funny you say that about milestones... I was thinking yesterday about when Kielty homered during the last weekend of the season to cost Buehrle 20 wins.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) I don't know how OC scored so easily that ball was freaking roped. I figured for sure he wouldn't have scored. One thing I'll give OC credit for is he gets great secondary leads on the bases.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) He's so awesome. Agreed....give him a life-time contract so I can name my first boy Quentin (pretty odd name for a white Jewish boy).

What has happend to soxtalk???
QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) This is and will always be a better site to post and read anything about the sox and the minors.... i have came back once in a while and post, but in reallity i have extremely too busy to keep on posting. with that said, when i did post a few newbies came on me, but the old-timers told them i was an old timer as well. i still read everything i can the soxs and with out this site, i will be lost. it keeps me up to date on everything.... so keep up the good work guys.... with the summer games going on the everything else going on, this is a slow time.... That is absolutely disgusting

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:35 PM) Juan drives the walk. I'd also like to point out his gold glove defense, which is something that was much needed given how s***ty the defense had been playing. Seeing OC's "GG defense" this season makes me appreciate Uribe's defense in his time with the Sox.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) I'd say his big RBIs the last two days more than make up for one bad play. A play that wasn't even his ball.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) twins bullpen is awesome/green 10-7 twinks Guerrier's the one who's been awful. Nathan has been amazing, while Reyes, Crain and Breslow have been very good lately.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) JT thought it was taht curve coming in to get him. Remember when it was Gio and Danks pitching one after the other in ST last season? Looks like we made the right decision on how to promote.
