  1. Javy's ERA has quickly gone from near 3 to being in the 4.50 ERA over the last few weeks.
  2. Javy's such a terrible big game pitcher. Of course, would have been nice if umpire would have given him the 3-2 pitch on Fukudome.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) I think there might be more then speculation about Javy tipping is pitches. I think he just sucks right now. No confidence in his change-up at all, and he can't locate his pitches.
  4. Thanks for nothing Javy....way to give the Cubs all the momentum. We'll be lucky to have them score less than 3 this inning.
  5. Walks Fukudome, and then a hit to DeRosa. Seen this act before.
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 02:59 AM) this is from baseball prospectus The Sox have to have similar splits as well.
  7. Anyone hear Steve Stone say that Ron Santo was complaining how the Cubs have more injuries than anyone? Stone quickly responded to Santo that the Cards have 11 pitchers on the DL, and Santo got annoyed with Stone and "walked" away.
  8. Will someone please explain to me why Russell Westbrook has more value than Chalmers. Both are very long, fantastic defenders, and turn the ball over too much. However, Chalmers is a significantly better shooter than he is. I swear, if it wasn't for a few highlight dunks, Westbrook would be a no-namer.
  9. Great win...can't wait to watch the replay. Work was quite fun today from 4 to 5.
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) No one said it's in the books. However, it's the 5th inning, and Contreras gave up 2 runs. Did you really think he was going to shut out the Cubs today? Especially with an 8 run lead? He is pitching to contact at this point. With a lineup like the Cubs, runs are going to happen at some point. No no, you just wanted someone up in case the Cubs started a rampage like the 4th inning last week. That is all. Nice to see him rebound.
  11. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) It's 8-2, relax. I've seen the Cubs come back from huge deficits far too often this season to think it's in the books.
  12. I'd get Logan in the game, you can't mess around.
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) Maybe rain wouldn't be bad. Why's that?
  14. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) Weather doesn't look good. Need to play fast. Details?
  15. No 9 run 4th innings Count! How's the weather?
  16. Time for Crede to lay the hammer down!
  17. QUOTE (TheOcho @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) When OC is hot, he is one of the most exciting players I've watched. This is the reason I was so disappointed in his first few months here...he always made the game look so easy when he faced us. When he would face Garland, it looked like he could put the ball wherever he wanted in the outfield. It's great to see him pick it up....it was all due to my "leadership" tracker!
  18. Contreras just doesn't look comfortable facing lefties anymore.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:34 AM) Heh. Heh what?
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) Mike Taylor-Point Guard. Must Improve-Point Guard Skills I saw Taylor play at Iowa St quite a few games, and he was just a stat sheet stuffer (and not always in a good way). I wonder if Felix remembers the crazy game at Minnesota when he had like 30 pts in the 2nd half of the game. Also, I think when he first went to the D-League last year, he told people he went to UCLA.
  21. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:52 AM) fathom....how about bilas saying the thing shan foster needed to improve on was his 3 point shooting...that alone should get bilas fired I know Shan had some terrible workouts for teams and at the camps, but that's just blasphemy. He was the best jump shooter in college basketball last season.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:10 AM) Funny you say that- CDR was 8% better, shooting percentage wise, than Weems this past year. I know exactly what the stats are, as I watch more college basketball than anyone. However, I guarantee there's not a single scout that thinks CDR is a good shooter. He had a great college career by shooting over 2 guards that he was bigger than.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 04:04 AM) Why no CDR there? I bet Rose would have loved to talk them into it, except he was probably on a plane. CDR can't shoot for s***.
  24. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 02:59 AM) Sonny Weems is a very solid pick. He's a heck of an athlete. Absolutely, he was one of the best players in the country the last few months of the season.
