  1. QUOTE (southsidesoxfan1983 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) the question is can our bullpen stop there offense Nope
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 06:31 PM) This will be the worst baseball day in my life if the Twins win tonight. And i still have no idea how they are 2 games above .500. Why would it be the worst? We lost 5 of 6 to the Cubs last season, and life went on. We've played terrible on the road lately, and the Cubs have been amazing at home. Is this weekend really surprising so far?
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 06:31 PM) My inspiring posts will continue as long as your s*** posts do. You post nothing about the actual game, that's the problem so many people have. I wasn't even in the game thread yesterday, and really didn't complain at all afterwards (despite some terrible managing).
  4. At least throw at Aramis next time he's up...then maybe Dempster will hit someone early on tomorrow night and we'll have a chance.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) There isn't a team in MLB that wouldn't have killed Contreras today. His forkball had no life and he couldn't locate anything It's been that way for 3 straight games. Isn't this around the time when he hit the wall in 2006?
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Why? Because it's against the Cubs? Another awesome post by you. I was waiting for your inspirational remarks. I would be saying this no matter who it was against.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:27 PM) Blame Ozzie for this one? Pathetic. Usually when a pitcher allows 8 out of 9 batters to reach, it's a sign he was left in too long.
  8. Just fire Ozzie now, this is absolutely inexcusable.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) Pull Danks after 85 pitches when he is absolutely dominating. Leave Contreras in when he clearly has nothing to get b**** slapped. You have a terrible in-game manager against one of the best in baseball....it's like we're playing 9 on 10 this weekend.
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) It's the fact its against the Cubs, a team I can't stand more than anyone else. I admit the Cubs are probably the best team in the majors with a ridiculous offense, but I live all around Cubs fans, and that's all that will be on the news. Cubs Cubs Cubs. I hate the Cubs more than anyone. If everyone on their team got hurt, I'd be laughing my ass off. However, Jose has sucked for a few weeks now, so this isn't surprising. He's given up like 30 hits in 15 innnings.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) Get Massett up. I'm about to puke. But it's OK, this won't make or break our year. It won't...we're playing the best team in baseball who happens to be one of the best home teams in recent memory.
  12. Ozzie leaving Jose into die. With the day off next week, manage with the same urgency you showed yesterday with Danks!
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) This sucks. Why against the Cubs of all teams? Because they have a great offense?
  14. Jose's stuff has been really awful lately.
  15. Is the wind blowing out for these lefty hitters to hit an opposite field homer?
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 02:09 AM) Yea good baseball vs. the Nationals. Congratulations to them. up 4-0 on Big Unit
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:35 AM) That was a foul ball. If this game was anywhere else in the Majors, that ball is fair. The lines at Wrigley are fairly deep. The only reason it was close to fair was the wind at Wrigley pushing the ball towards the playing field.
  18. Twins are playing really good baseball. After that ass kicking we gave them, I didn't expect them to be back in the race so soon.
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 11:44 PM) I just saw the replay on Comcast and it sure looks like the ball changed direction and the only way it does that is if it ticked the foul pole. There's another pole right behind the foul pole. It clearly hit that pole, and was correctly called foul.
  20. This was in the game thread, but supposedly Farmer and Stone were saying how suspicious the maturation process of G. Soto has been from medicore minor league hitter to premiere offensive hitting catcher. With Stone's connections to the Cubs, this is as close to a declaration of guilt as you'll get without a positive test.
  21. I don't think there's been a positive thing said in this thread, so I will go ahead and state that John Danks.....stud!
  22. I've never been so happy to see Red Sox stuff on TV. The Schilling stuff has dominated ESPN's broadcast.
  23. QUOTE (striker62704 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 10:33 PM) I just watched the videos on MLB.com. Every homerun pitch thrown by the whitesox was right down the middle. You lose because you suck. Yep, Dotel's only effective when he can throw his high fastball at the letters. The homer Lee hit against him was down, and the Aramis homer was a weak slider down.
