  1. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,2111738.story So this was the second time OC has done this? Also, he won't state he feels comfortable with the Sox. I absolutely despise Orlando Cabrera.
  2. So Mark Teahen hit a 3 run, inside the parker in the 9th to tie the Twins.
  3. Toby!!! That was impressive. BTW, Josh Hamilton just hit a grand slam. I really wish I could know if they would have traded him for Gio, DLS, and Sweeney.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:49 AM) I think people are upset because you see it so rarely now, it's not recognized as a baseball play. At one time, it was very common, but obviously would have to take place in bunting situations. Cliff Politte had no problem doing it in Colorado during the 2005 season.
  5. I have no problem with the butcher boy. Most teams teach that if the opposition is putting on the wheel play, then go ahead and pull the bat back. It would be ironic if Ramirez actually gets in trouble for good situational hitting.
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:41 AM) It's not about being optimistic/pessimistic. It's about people posting stuff that is ridiculously overblown and exaggerated. It makes the site look laughable. Come on, seeing Jeff Liefer brought up made me laugh. We've heard Owens, Getz, Fields, Eldred, and Wise...but that might be the first one for Liefer.
  7. So Jay Bruce has the same amount of hits tonight in 2 at bats as C. Patterson had in his last 29 at bats.
  8. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:39 AM) I'm just going to hope the Sox losing tonight brings out dumb, irrational posts from people, or some of the posts in this thread are unreal. Safe to say I'm optimistic compared to most in here?
  9. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:38 AM) From the nothing has changed file, James Loney just missed a grand slam in the 8th inning, and then strikes out.
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:32 AM) why do we hear whispers this year that dye was probably playing hurt all of last year, and we never really heard a thing about it, yet konerko hurts his hand and its all over the media? Because Dye could have possibly been traded.
  11. I need to just stop watching Cubs home games. Every game seems to be the same. Fukudome's played some ridiculous defense tonight.
  12. According to Cowley, the front office was livid when OC publically stated that Scioscia was the best manager he's played for. Supposedly, OC hasn't been close to the leader they thought he'd be. Instead, he's the first one to leave the clubhouse after the game.
  13. Way to not throw your best pitch Broxton, you fat cow. Cubs OBP is near .400 at home.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) Please god no more Konerko hand excuses. Dude is just a bad baseball player right now. If it's that bad, sit your ass down for a couple months
  15. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) dodgers IF defense looks like the sox Sutcliffe's slurping of the Cubs tonight might make Ron Santo jealous.
  16. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:13 AM) Yeah, I forget against who, but I remember i/ming heads in amazement asking him the same question about when does that ever work. Mariners game, Saturday night, Sox win.
  17. Go Dodgers...get a double play. Go Royals...win the series against the Twins.
  18. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:57 AM) Wass' delivery/release looks off vs. last year. His delivery is even more exaggerated.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:53 AM) why ozzie left buerhle in to face a guy who was 8 for 15 career off mark i dont know Tonight's game was what you brought up yesterday....no one delivered that crushing homer early in games against the Sox this season until Gutierrez tonight.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:53 AM) why ozzie left buerhle in to face a guy who was 8 for 15 career off mark i dont know True, I figured he was leaving him in to give us another inning. If you're going to pull him a batter later....oh well.
  21. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) and a horrendous bullpen Borowski looked sharp last night though.
  22. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:51 AM) Simply atrocious baseball game tonight so far. I'm grateful we won last night...Indians had a ton of chances to win.
