  1. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ May 15, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) Ryan Dempster. What the hell. He has an above average slider...that's all you need in the NL. The rest of the NL Central got pounded today.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ May 15, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) Thome. Put Dye at DH. Please!!! I'd sit PK tonight. With Garland on the mound, he's a double play waiting to happen.
  3. Jason Isringhausen just cost the Cardinals another game! The Brewers and Cards bullpen has cost them so many games already this season.
  4. I'd like to see Anderson play tonight, as we all know Garland doesn't throw a lot of curves or sliders. Anderson is one of our best straight fastball hitters.
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 15, 2008 -> 08:12 PM) How do cub pitchers strike out at least one guy just about every inning. Zambrano I get but Lilly and Dempster and doing it to. Because those 3 are a pretty good 3 man rotation? Dempser's batting average against is phenomenal. At this point, the only way I see them not cruising to the NL Central is if Zambrano or Marmol get hurt.
  6. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 15, 2008 -> 05:50 AM) I don't know how Contreras has been doing it, but he's not been getting rocked. He hasn't really been throwing nasty stuff up there, just getting outs. His increase in velocity does help though. He was extremely nasty tonight with that forkball.
  7. You have to do that there, as you need to set up the force at home. AJP is a great contact hitter, so it's not like you could count on striking him out. Also, I don't know what the stats say this year, but Shields is filthy against righties.
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:33 AM) First time all year. Though it is a 5 run ballgame with 3 outs to go, some would categorize this as a blowout. 1-0 with positive game thread!
  9. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 15, 2008 -> 05:32 AM) gun showing bobby at 94, it showed jose hitting 94 a few times too though.. He hangs so many curve balls. I'd like to see him throw more change-ups.
  10. Good news, as long as they don't get rained out, we should miss Carmona and Lee.
  11. What's this, Anderson in for defense? I like it!
  12. Do you think Ozzie will play Hall at catcher tomorrow, or will he let AJP face his buddy Garland. I really want to see AJP get the start, and see if this lineup can get on a roll. You can't have Toby batting 2nd.
  13. Now that's what we haven't seen from Swisher!! He got the 2-0 count, and then swung from the heels.
  14. It's obvious...if we need speed at the leadoff position, PK is our guy.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:20 AM) That's what I thought. He looked swift, if nothing else. Earlier in the game, they weren't holding him on. They actually were holding him on there. I really wish more people saw Cora yell out to him to steal, and PK looked at him twice.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 15, 2008 -> 05:19 AM) Thank you Dbacks scouts/player development team. If not for you we wouldn't have CQ. A.J. Hinch....yes!
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 15, 2008 -> 05:17 AM) Bahaha is Napoli a narcoleptic or something? Nothing Napoli could do. PK had a great jump, and honestly, he didn't look nearly as slow as he usually does.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 15, 2008 -> 05:17 AM) I wasn't necessarily talking about tonight, just if he's willing to hit opponents this year after the 2006 fiasco. Oh, I'm sure he is.
  19. Was I the only one who saw Cora tell PK "steal" as he was walking to first base?
  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 15, 2008 -> 05:13 AM) So does Ozzie have one of his pitchers peg an Angel as retribution or is he done with that non sense? No way...not when you're winning late in the game. Wait to do it tomorrow if you want.
  21. QUOTE (The Beast @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:07 AM) I want to know why Ozzie didn't do this lineup when the team started struggling. It appears to be effective, at least IMO. Compared to not making any moves last season to try and shake things up, I would say doing it in mid-May is pretty proactive.
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) Slam for my favorite hitter. God this kid is exciting. You have to love how he was the one who acted in control of the situation.
  23. CQ has to stay back, as he's going to either get fastballs up and in or sliders away.
