  1. Fun stat....Erstad would be second on this team in batting average at .296.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) Actually, Owens wouldn't be bad in Ramirez' spot. No ABs. Just let him pinch run. I wouldn't trust Ozzie with the toy in his garage.
  3. In between the awful rumblings of Hawk and DJ, you can see what the big issue is: there's no accountability on this team.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:14 AM) Jerry Owens down to .228 in Charlotte. Its a blessing. I'm on the Dewayne Wise for Ramirez bandwagon.
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:10 AM) Just got in. Tonight looks like the 10th pitcher this season to embarass the Sox. I used to list them but I am not that good of a typist. I'll read the thread in the morning. Sad, I used to stay up and watch these games..... The cubs lost to estes. The Padres bullpen was phenomenal. Sox need to try and execute a hit-and-run to open up some holes.
  6. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:05 AM) They also need to realize that right field in fact is okay to hit to. It is not out. I hate games like this, because just like the Marcum game from a few weeks ago, they're making it look like Weaver's throwing an invisible baseball.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) yeah terrible call...first pitch was outside as well I think the camera angle is off though, as there's been quite a few pitches that seemed off the plate. Sox sure have had a lot of full counts tonight.
  8. Nasty pitch by Weaver, but our hitters need to realize he's going 3-2 change-up.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:54 AM) I've always thought that if we had a legit PBP guy and not a storyteller, DJ would at least be tolerable. I think he's good on Fox games.
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:54 AM) You'd bunt with Vlad batting? Absolutely...Ozzie showed yesterday he's not going to walk Vlad early on. And if he does walk him, then you have them loaded for Hunter.
  11. Nice double play, as Danks did a great job of keeping the ball down in the zone.
  12. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:48 AM) Hawk and DJ are at their absolute best today. Sarcasm?
  13. Hit the 9th hitter, walk the leadoff hitter, and he's not even close on his pitches.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:46 AM) In favor of who though? I just don't see the point in having our worst hitter getting the most at bats. Danks doesn't look comfortable out of the stretch.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:41 AM) Is weaver looking that good. We looking that bad or a little bit a both. Don't have WCIU out here. He does look good tonight, but our hitters have the same approach as usual against him. And now, Danks hits the leadoff hitter.
  16. Anytime we want to move OClayton out of the leadoff spot, that would be fine.
  17. Weaver's not even trying to throw inside for strikes. Everything is away, away, away, way inside, away, away.
  18. Excellent performance by the big 3 in the Padres bullpen.
  19. We have bad luck with all of these pitchers being on their game.
