Harden to Cubs
That's an insane trade, as there's serious concerns about Harden's health.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Ross Gload was awfully good when he played there. He's the only one I can think of that is close, but Swish is still better. Gload was all hype...he made a few very costly errors over there. Swisher made a lot of plays look easy that PK wouldn't have gotten to.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) Haha yea it is kind of. But you have to admit, Swish was stellar defensively at 1b, im not sure if that helped him offensively but he did pick up his game. And having Anderson out in CF was nice. THe platooning Wise/BA combo was working. Swish is decent out in CF, but his #1 possition is 1b. I just hope Pauly can turn it around and help us win games. Maybe that 20 day break is just what he needed to rejuvinate his all around game. Ozzie can still manage this team to use everyone effectively. I agree though, Swisher played amazing defense at 1B. By far, he was the best defensive first baseman I've seen on the southside. I didn't like Wise's defense, as he played far too shallow.

QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) yeah same here. I think I am more disappointed in seeing pablo go than I am glad that Paulie the Rally Killer is back. As long as Konerko is back in the 6 spot I guess he wont hurt us too much. It sure was a nice 15 days without him though. Oh goodness, this is beginning to remind me of Cubs fans thinking they were better off when Soriano was gone.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 03:51 AM) Kuroda has a perfect game in the 8th...can't believe no one has posted about this yet. Nice jinx...Tex with a hit to break it up.

Impressive performance by Poreda against the '27 Yankees, even if they were missing Ruth.

Danks has been going up against some studly pitchers, and he keeps us in the game and allows us to take the lead often. What a breakthrough year for him.

Farmer's call was about 10 seconds long on that fly ball. Great split, enjoy tomorrow off everyone!

Ugh, Logan should really be in to face Cust. I can't believe Ozzie hasn't learned that Linebrink can't pitch in the 9th inning. This is just terrible managing.

Ellis scares me here, as he's a good fastball hitter and Linebrink doesn't have a good offspeed pitch against righties.

Should Crede have made that play?

Nice job by Thornton...I'd keep him in the game. I have no faith in Linebrink to pitch the 9th.

What do we do in the 8th? I'd recommend going with Logan against Cust, and then bring in Linebrink. Thornton should be the 9th inning man.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) Ozzie still seems to have no faith in Boone what so ever. Big out there....hopefully outfield is playing shallow to have a chance to throw Bowen out at home.

Crap...sounds like a bad throw by OC. Time to pull Danks, but why not use Logan instead of Dotel for the lefty?

Thome continues to really struggle against RHP. His splits are shocking this season compared to his lifetime numbers. Is the reason he struggles this year against RHP because it's easier for them to get the ball in on him, where he can't catch up with it anymore?

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 02:42 AM) Linebrink struggling of late... He needs to pitch in the 8th, and only the 8th. I think every homer he's allowed has been in the 9th or later.
