  1. Good job by Danks of not allowing a 2 out run, as that would have started the same Angels mojo we saw from the 5th on last night.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:16 AM) Man, Ozzie got lucky. You don't pitch to Vlad with 1st base open! It's the first inning...a little different than the 5th. Even Hawk was saying that they should have walked him, and blamed it on Ozzie for not putting up four fingers.
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:10 AM) shocking What's Thome hitting with a full count this season?
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:09 AM) Last start for Weaver Lasted 3 innings gave up 8 runs to the Royals. Hawk's already saying he looks better tonight than last game.
  5. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Im seeing some wicked lightning here in Schaumburg, there is no way the cubs finish that game I agree, they should call it right now!
  6. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 14, 2008 -> 01:15 AM) has she plugged the website yet? Within the first minute.
  7. QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:13 AM) It's not the greatest Presidential speech ever. not by a long shot. hillary lied to us, again. Seriously, but I do like the guy on the bottom right of the screen. They must have searched many towns in order to find him.
  8. Clinton supporters are claiming Hillary's speech tonight will be one of the best in the history of the United States.
  9. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 14, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) 3 pitches...1 HR No surprise....this Cubs offense will be ridiculous when the wind's blowing out.
  10. Over/under on Cubs homers tonight is 3.5 Facing Shawn Estes with the wind blowing out 20 mph will make for a long game.
  11. I haven't seen this in a while, but what's the projected polls in Oregon looking like?
  12. I can't wait for the media to make it seem Obama has lost his "locked up" nomination after tonight.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) I think there's a difference between "A roller coaster of emotions" and the state of our game threads these days. I completely disagree with this...if you look at the Bears site, you'll see frequent posts in a game thread about how "X" player should be benched, "Y" should be released, and this coach sucks. A game thread is more like an in game blog than a discussion board....but if people want to change the way it's handled on here, I don't blame them.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) Posts in game threads. Its like having a hundred drama queen girlfriends fret over a broken nail. Might as well get rid of game threads then, because on every site for every team, game threads are a roller coaster of emotions.
  15. I doubt Posey is going to pitch in the majors, as the highlights ESPN televised yesterday showed he was throwing 86 mph fastballs.
  16. In all seriousness, if you want to control repetitive stuff, why not just open up official threads for certain players/issues?
  17. Can we add: - terrible attendance - Contreras' arm slot - not holding on runners - Swisher is off the juice - minor league stats - Chris Rongey's an idiot - piranhas - signing Scott Boras clients
  18. Responding to a critique of a manager with "if you are so much better than Ozzie, then why aren't you managing in the majors?"
  19. Iguchi: 3 run homer against Wells in Game 2 of ALDS Crede: walk off homer against David Riske Shingo: being so bad in 2005 it forced Hermanson, and then Jenks, into closer role Thome: homer off of Anthony Reyes in 1-0 win. Ozuna: walk off bunt vs the A's.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) The definitely werent all his fault but a good pitcher doesnt collpase and start getting rocked as soon as his defense makes a bad play or two. Same thing with the 2-0 loss in Toronto, Crede made a 2-out error and Mark just gave up a bunch of hits in a row and that lost the game. And in both situations, Buehrle should have never been pitching to Vlad or Shannon Stewart.
  21. Hillary's camp is now saying they're going to win the popular vote. I know that doesn't even matter now, but is that even possible if they don't include MI and FL?
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) His change-up? That was one of the few pitches that he had working for him last night, and the one he got most of his strikeouts on. And as for the errors, he needs to pitch over them. I understand if he gives up an unearned run here or there, but he doesn't then have to give up 5 straight hits and let them blow the game open. He had no control of his change-up...it seemed like he was leaving it up and off the plate too much. I do know for certain that's the pitch that has been hit the hardest off of him this season.
  23. Buehrle's lost his change-up, it's pretty obvious. His velocity is actually up from the past few seasons, but there's only a 6 mph difference between his heater and fastball. Also, he's been just killed by some terrible defense, especially at the SS position.
