  1. 31 pitches in the first, 24 over the next two innings for Harden.
  2. Great job by Gavin, nice to get back in the win column.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 02:42 AM) Linebrink struggling of late... He needs to pitch in the 8th, and only the 8th. I think every homer he's allowed has been in the 9th or later.
  4. Linebrink can't keep the ball in the park.
  5. Wow, Ramirez hit that about 425 feet.
  6. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 01:01 AM) man, it's nice to actually have someone be able to score from 1st on a gapper. No kidding, twice in a week for him.
  7. I got a first hand report on Clayton Richard. I was told his stuff is rather mediocre, but he has a very funky delivery and release. A Tampa Bay scout said he has a chance to be a reliever, but most of his success in the minors this year is due to his Dontrelle-esque funk. The reports on David Cook were not very kind either. He's extremely short, and not a major league prospect.
  8. Floyd's flirting with trouble walking guys in front of Cust. I thought Cust had a long homer in his last AB.
  9. The AB by Anderson in the 5th was fantastic. He had such a great plan at the plate.
  10. It was great to see the score on my cell phone jump from 4-3 to 5-4.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) He's magically went from a mediocre to good player in the last few years, while gaining power, in his early 30's, after never hitting too much at the minor or major league level. Then again, to be fair, that happens all the time. Although actually, DeRosa is just a guy I look at and go hmmm. On the other hand, Soto is a guy where the only question is who is supplying him with the HGH, clear, and needles. Derosa was a pretty blatant juicer. When he was on the Braves teams that would make Turner Field look small, he would hit 400 foot homers to the opposite way. Then, he rejuvenated his career in Texas with a bunch of other PED users.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 03:48 AM) Great umpiring in the bottom of the 9th by home plate ump. BS strike calls. Yep, that Glaus AB was total bulls***. The Cards announcers were going nuts about it. In case you didn't see, during the AB that Soto homered, there was a 2 strike pitch that was easily a strike that was called a ball.

I just think when you're in contention, it's ridiculous to even consider showcasing a lesser player that everyone knows won't net you anything useful.

Buster Olney's hearing C.C. will be traded in next 72 hours.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) explain to me how Alexi would have made 1 bit of difference in this game? They sucked ass in every part of the game today, doesn't matter Yes, he wouldn't have made a difference tonight. However, the fact that we're creating opportunities for Uribe to play just so that we can eventually trade him is pathetic. The Sox aren't going to get s*** for him anyways.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 02:10 AM) When you have teams looking to trade for him you start him. Not to mention I doubt Sexi would have hit a 7 run homer to end the game. That's a terrible reason....you play to win the game!
  17. Everyone be safe tonight. Happy bday Heads. Hopefully Sox can split this series.
  18. Wow, Uribe has been hitting the ball extremely hard the last two nights.
  19. Masset reverting back to form lately.
  20. She must appreciate how much the team blows tonight.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 01:59 AM) If they score here, which as like a 99.9999999% chance of doing so, I think it's safe to call this a day. Ballgame...just a terrible effort all around tonight. Wise throws to the wrong base. Maybe it's time we move Crede down in the lineup, as there's no reason to have him hitting behind CQ, Dye, and Thome.
  22. Masset in to let this game get out of hand. I still don't trust him out of the pen, with his WHIP over 1.50
  23. It's the curse of Juan Uribe!
