  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 02:10 AM) A lot of pitchers are going to cruise against Minny... It's funny, but he's throwing harder than I've seen in the last few years.
  2. Garland's cruising so far in his first start....ugh!
  3. Someone close to Tyshawn Taylor said there's no way he goes to Marquette now, and will look at Kansas and Ga Tech again.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) The lineup today should have been pretty obvious. LF-Swish SS-OC DH-Thome 1B-Kong RF-Dye C-AJ 3B-Crede(should be Josh, but whatever) CF-Anderson 2B-Ozuna Great post, between this and and using Dotel instead of Linebrink, it wasn't Ozzie's greatest game.
  5. QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) "Are you crying? Are you crying?!There is no crying in baseball!".That has to be the all time most memorable line from a baseball movie. I'm sorry, but I think the most memorable line from a baseball movie is "I have one thing to say to you....strike this mother f***er out". The similarities between Ricky Vaughn coming in and Jenks vs Bagwell in game 1 of the WS are amazing.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) LOL, this game has gotten so wierd that the Braves announcer is now reading a comment on rule 8.06. What happened?
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 12:08 AM) It's almost as if when the Sox lose, the following griping brings more joy than when the Sox win. You're right, I never post about the Sox in a gamethread.
  8. Boone is going to be a great reliever in this league.
  9. Just saw replays....first two calls in question were real bad. I have no problem with the Cabrera call, it was a stupid move by a veteran.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) Rooting for them to lose is one thing. Clearly worrying about them more than the Sox on Opening Day is a different story. During the Sox comeback, making posts in the Cubs thread about their game is sad. I was at work, so I was following both games on yahoo. I think it's bulls*** for you to say I was worrying more about them. You know I like you, but you're wrong with this. There were even people in the Sox gamethread that made comments about what was happening in the Cubs game. I don't see anyone blasting them.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) A-ram didnt do much other that wait out a walk. He flat out cant hit a changeup or a slider. No way should he be allowed to face Carmona.
  12. Watching the replays now....Swisher is definitely an upgrade over whoever we had in LF since Carlos Lee. However, when are we going to see the negative thread started?
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) You seriously are insane. LET IT GO In a season where I don't think the Sox have a chance in hell to make the postseason, I'll also root very hard for whoever is facing the Cubs. I will say it was nice to listen to the 10th inning on 620 AM.
  14. Well, Fukudome's going to be a legend. I hate this baseball season already.
  15. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 10:12 PM) Would anyone have rather seen Ehren Wasserman pitching to Blake there? Yeah, me too. Oh, well. Viva Dotel. If it makes you feel better, Dotel will likely be on the DL in a few weeks, and Wasserman will be back up.
  16. Losing aside, I'm pretty happy right now. Our offense showed a lot of life today, and the whole team played with emotion. It's just one game, and as long as this team plays hard, I'm not going to get too upset. This isn't like 2005, 2006, and 2007 where I thought it was a contending team, so it's actually more enjoyable now.
  17. Dotel is just awful. We gave Linebrink a 4 year deal to pitch in these situations.
  18. Not to go too negative, but that was another case of terrible fundamental hitting by Cabrera. He was brutal in ST in similar situations.
  19. QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 09:58 PM) I think Dotel is about to get lit up Dotel's been real bad lately. Hopefully he does well, but this should be Linebrink.
  20. Nice comeback, but have to get the momentum back again.
  21. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) Ramierz had to face two nasty pitchers today. I wish every hitter could have that excuse made for them. Sooner or later, he's going to have to prove he can hit during Major League games.
  22. Another instance where it kills us not having a lefty ph on the bench.
  23. So what happened on Thome's fly ball?
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) Sox SERIOUSLY need to cut their losses with Uribe. The frustrating thing is that there are options available, that will make this team better. Put A-Ram at 2nd, Anderson in CF. If Ozzie still has it out for Anderson, put Swish in CF, Carlos in LF, and Aram at 2nd. Uribe needs to go. I know many of us have questioned it in the past, but I hope Ozzie can put his personal feelings aside and do what's best for the team. With a bad season putting him on the hot seat, I am optimistic Ozzie will.
