Poor Tony Clark...must seem like any pitch within 5 feet is a strike.

That a boy! Thankfully Hawk's not around to say "there's your run Brandon, now go get them".

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:55 AM) A Wild Card team can never have home field advantage unless it makes it to the World Series and it's league won the All Star Game, just as pre "this time it counts", a wild card team could never have home field unless it was it's leagues turn to have home field in the World Series and they made it there. Thanks, that's what I figured.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) I just look at the D'backs line up and think, how the hell is this team in the playoffs? How did they win 90 games when they are offensively retarded? Even with a healthy Hudson, Tracy, and Big Unit....I still don't know how they'd make the playoffs. I like Frank Caliendo a lot, but these commercials are really going to make me hate him.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:49 AM) What crackhead is giving you the forecast? It's going to be dry all day Saturday, and the rain Sunday won't get here until night, and it's a noon game. I saw all day yesterday that it was supposed to rain on Saturday. Is that not true anymore? I have to go to a wedding at 5 with a bunch of Cubs fans....it's my own little hell.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:47 AM) For the DBacks standpoint I would rather go with Owings in game 4 and have Webb rested for game 5. Owings has been pretty damn good the last couple of months while Hernandez has been awful, he has no business starting in this series. As CWS said earlier, and I've said for a week, this series is over though if the Cubs beat Webb tonight. In terms of talent on the field, this seems like the Red Sox/Angels series. Has anyone found out what would happen if the Cubs play Rockies in the NLCS, with regards to home-field ad?

The thing is, it's likely going to rain this wknd in Chicago. Piniella already has given his team the upper-hand by going with a 3 man rotation.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:39 AM) ... well than the napalm hits Wrigely around first pitch on Sunday. Can we wait until if they make the WS? I want to see Jericho's return on Sunday.

If we take out the team, we need one more person to take out Ron Santo. It's not a hard mission....you can beat him up with his legs.

I keep telling people that the Dbacks should put Micah Owings at 2nd base. He'd be their most dangerous hitter.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:36 AM) Yeah, I guess it is time for plan B. Time to start working on that mass murder/suicide pact that is going to get us Greg the Bull and Fathom statues on the CF concourse at the Cell. Me and my two brothers are in. I think we can get WHarris.

What a stupid pitch. I'll never understand why pitchers throw other pitchers a first pitch fastball.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:32 AM) Thatta boy, make fat ass throw lots of pitches. In this year of nothing going right for people like you and me, it figures the best team in the NL has nothing on offense. I really thought the Mets were our best bet.

So, who's your pick for player that we most like on the Dbacks this series, and the player that pisses us off? My pick is Juan Cruz for player we like, and Mark Reynolds for player we hate.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:27 AM) Theriot is such a terrible player, it amazes me he was able to scam his way into hitting so well the first few months. Anyways, Webb has his sinker going which means the Cubs won't be hitting home runs which means the Cubs won't be scoring runs. Get a couple on the board, D'Backs!! Which means bunt if you have a runner on 2nd, no outs!

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:26 AM) You know that most players are on steroids. These days, I'm not so sure of it with all the crackdowns. Up until a year ago or so, of course they were. I would guess the percentage of guys on steroids/HGH is around 65 pct.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:25 AM) Think the D'backs have a scouting report on Theriot yet? ie, Bust his ass inside. If Webb keeps throwing that outside sinker to Theriot, it's going to be 1-0 Cubs.

Did anyone else hear Bernstein talking about how he thinks Soto is on steroids? It warmed my heart, as I've been saying that for months.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:21 AM) IS there anybody that Tony Clark is actually a good match up against? Guys who throw less than 90 mph.

D-Backs Cubs Series thread
Terrible at-bats after the leadoff single. I really don't think Clark is a good match-up against Zambrano, as he's overmatched against good fastballs. I don't care if they have no power....#3 and 4 hitters should be hacking on 3-0 with a RISP.

Just want to know why wasn't Drew bunting in order to get Young over? Getting Webb a lead this game is a must.
