  1. Holy cow, that might be the most surprising homer I've seen since Pods off of Lidge. You had the guy with the nasty K/9 inning numbers against the guy who K's a ton. BTW, did anyone get worried that it might not have been gone due to the camera angle and Stockton not sounding excited?
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 03:53 AM) I'm bewildered as to why Z is out. He's not due up here anytime soon (and he hit the ball hard anyways), he only threw 6 innings and 85 pitches. I also doubt he'd have cramps, it's Phoenix so the humidity is absolutely zero, plus the Cubs don't have the bullpen depth to just do this for the heck of it when their starter is pitching really well. To have him ready for 3 days rest. However, if they were going to pull him early, they should have had a ph for him with the bases loaded.
  3. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 03:49 AM) Cubs bullpen isnt all that great, its alot better than going up against Zambrano whos been on tonight. The Dbacks offense makes any pitcher look on. Zambrano got into a lot of bad counts tonight, but the Dbacks are just too weak to make him pay.
  4. Much better inning for Webb there! Hopefully the Dbacks just swing hard and hope they hit Marmol.
  5. This has the feeling of the inning that the Cubs go ahead. I can't imagine how the Dbacks are going to be able to score against Marmol. Marmol vs Mark Reynolds next inning should be comical.
  6. Chris Young just chase ball 4, and then K? I still am pissed that the ump changed the face of the top of the 6th by calling that 2-1 pitch on Steroidosa a ball.
  7. Good grief, you've got to be kidding me. What a freaking lucky team. Reynolds was playing way too shallow there. No way Theriot was going to try and bunt for the hit.
  8. Ugh, he has nothing on these pitches. Biggest batter of the game here.
  9. Come on ump, that's been a strike all night! Webb is really not sharp right now. Soto is going to be swinging out of his ass on this 2-0.
  10. The Cubs have adjusted to that pitch, and they're putting some good swings on it.
  11. This would be a nice time for a double play. Webb's been getting hit a little harder, and needs to get some ground ball outs instead of strikeouts.
  12. It's reasons like that which makes Zambrano hated. Congrats, you struck out one of the worst hitting pitchers in all of baseball.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 03:08 AM) What a TERRIBLE move to have Z swing away. I know he hit it hard and almost had a single, but you HAVE to bunt there and give yourself a chance to score and tie it without getting another hit. Lou with a rare tactical error. That obviously would have scored the runner. Webb better be careful with that outside sinker to the lefties.
  14. Figures....I told you we were going to hate Mark Reynolds. I can't believe a team made a bad defensive play against the Cubs.
  15. Poor Tony Clark...must seem like any pitch within 5 feet is a strike.
  16. That a boy! Thankfully Hawk's not around to say "there's your run Brandon, now go get them".
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:55 AM) A Wild Card team can never have home field advantage unless it makes it to the World Series and it's league won the All Star Game, just as pre "this time it counts", a wild card team could never have home field unless it was it's leagues turn to have home field in the World Series and they made it there. Thanks, that's what I figured.
  18. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) I just look at the D'backs line up and think, how the hell is this team in the playoffs? How did they win 90 games when they are offensively retarded? Even with a healthy Hudson, Tracy, and Big Unit....I still don't know how they'd make the playoffs. I like Frank Caliendo a lot, but these commercials are really going to make me hate him.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:49 AM) What crackhead is giving you the forecast? It's going to be dry all day Saturday, and the rain Sunday won't get here until night, and it's a noon game. I saw all day yesterday that it was supposed to rain on Saturday. Is that not true anymore? I have to go to a wedding at 5 with a bunch of Cubs fans....it's my own little hell.
  20. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:47 AM) For the DBacks standpoint I would rather go with Owings in game 4 and have Webb rested for game 5. Owings has been pretty damn good the last couple of months while Hernandez has been awful, he has no business starting in this series. As CWS said earlier, and I've said for a week, this series is over though if the Cubs beat Webb tonight. In terms of talent on the field, this seems like the Red Sox/Angels series. Has anyone found out what would happen if the Cubs play Rockies in the NLCS, with regards to home-field ad?
  21. The thing is, it's likely going to rain this wknd in Chicago. Piniella already has given his team the upper-hand by going with a 3 man rotation.
  22. Why are the Dbacks having the pitcher bat 8th?
  23. Way to Hulk up, Mr. Webb!
  24. Disclaimer....we're kidding.
