I can't wait for people to point out that the reason we couldn't trade Contreras was due to his horrible ERA. His ERA would be .6 pts lower if Ozzie didn't give up during the Boston game and the KC game from before the break.

I'd list Konerko, then Dye, then Iguchi, and then Thome. Dye seems to get those liners up the middle quite often in late, clutch situations. I thought it was interesting how few homers Thome hits from the 6th inning on this year. I'd want Thome leading off an inning in which we needed a run, as he's the most likely to draw a walk.

Great game for Fields today. And yes Tony, AJ's doing a good job receiving these pitches. However, he's getting that free hand out there way too much, and he's going to take a pounding with some foul balls.

And just like that, Garland pitches like a pussy this inning by not challenging hitters with 2 outs, and gives up another three runs.

Jerry Owens had about 10 swings there, and not one of them would have resulted in him getting the ball out of the infield.

This is a really bad performance by Garland. His fastball is tailing right over the heart of the plate, and the Red Sox are hitting the ball hard. It's sad to see how far away we are in terms of talent right now.
