  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) How you feelin' about the D-Backs/Cubs series? You gotta be reasonably happy that Webb will be able to pitch twice, although talking bigger picture, it sucks that there's no powerhouse in the NL. If you put any of the four AL teams in the NL, they'd pretty much be WS locks, too. Basically, we need Webb to pitch his ass off. If the Cubs win the first game, I don't see much of a chance for the DBacks to win the series. I honestly don't know what to expect with the Cubs. I think they're far and away the best team in the NL, but their record doesn't indicate that. I'm going to enjoy the next two days though, and hopefully not punch any Cubs fans in the mouth. We better hope the wind is blowing in for game 3, as Livan might give up 10 homers if the wind is blowing out at Wrigley. I would love to see the Phillies make the WS....but as I told my dad tonight, I'd root for my mother-in-law to beat the Cubs right now.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:26 AM) I do not think Griese is a starting caliber QB, nor do I think he is the solution for the Bears. BUT, I had no problem with the decision to switch because it was worth a shot to spark the team. It seemed like it had gotten to the point where a move just had to be made, even if just for the short-term. Maybe with a couple of weeks off Rex can clear his head, and come back sharp. I just can't see Lovie making another change anytime soon, as they'll continue to say that Griese is rusty. The worst thing is hearing calls for Orton now. People must forget that he used to overthrow more people than Chuck Knoblauch.
  3. Haha, just pathetic. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0...1&cset=true
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:19 AM) Oh good God. You and I always get along well.....but were you of the opinion that you wanted to see Griese? I can't recall what position you were taking after the Cowboys game.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:19 AM) Oh good God. It was amazing how much criticism he received when there's been so many other players playing just as bad. I repeat, Bernard Berrian has played the worst out of anyone on this team (in terms of dropping critical passes and bad route running). Cedric Benson was far more responsible for the game-changing turnovers in the games Rex played in as well (which I know you'll agree with). The back-up QB is always the most popular player in town, and now the Bears are in a situation where they basically have to stick with Griese.
  6. Wow, kudos to BP.
  7. You keep Uribe if you can upgrade the offensive player in CF and 2b.
  8. I might take some criticism for this, but the Bears fans should be ashamed of themselves for how they've treated Rex this year. BTW, did anyone else notice how relieved Rex seemed on the sideline?

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) And who do you suggest replace Jon... Someone not even half as talented who will cost 3 Mil more? No thanks... Keep Garland or we will not contend PERIOD! I really wish this team didn't even focus on competing in 2008, and focus more on competing in 2009-2011, etc.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) So...Mets...Brewers...Padres...excellent work you guys did on those upgrades you made at the deadline. Yup, boy, not picking up Contreras when he was worth basically nothing sure paid dividends for you, didn't it. I can't believe teams like the DBacks didn't try to acquire Jermaine Dye.

This was the most irritating baseball season ever, and it started with the very first batter of the year. Sadly, the squad is going to look similar next year also. The bad part is that for how annoying the season was, the next few weeks will be infinitely worse.
  12. Calling a timeout with a minute left, down 2 scores, and with 3 timeouts left is one of the most ignorant moves I've ever seen.
  13. He better not be back. No excuses....we don't need 3 specialists on this team.
  14. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) Wow, this guy is unbelievable! Without Hester we are nothing. I'd rather Orton start over both of them. I've been saying that since Orton started that whole season. This team is going nowhere unless Rex gets his head out of his ass and starts playing well. However, I don't think he'll get that chance again.
  15. That was an amazing return. I can't believe the Lions keep putting the ball in his hands. He's been the Bears best chance at scoring today.
  16. Put Rex in the game, and give him the chance to win back this team. Griese is awful!
  17. We really need to lose this game.
  18. It's funny, but both teams should be winning this game by a lot. Griese has made some terrible passes near the end zone. I really wish we were more aggressive on that 3rd and 3, instead of running it with Peterson and settling for a FG.
  19. If you have the Directv package or mlb.com, do yourself a favor and watch the Phils and Mets games today. The crowds are amazing in both of them.
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 06:16 PM) Yup, poor decision. But the offense still looks lightyears better. Does it though? They're facing a terrible defensive team, and they still can't run the ball.
  21. Wow, that looked like Rex.
  22. Impressive drive by Griese and the Bears. They really need to pass more like they did on that drive, as their running backs/O line have been so mediocre.
  23. At least with Rex in the game, you felt like they had a chance to get more than 5 yards on any given play. What a horrible, horrible play by Graham there. From getting out of his lane to the horse collar. This team f***ing sucks.
  24. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Is that a serious comment? f*** that. He has dropped tons of balls but he is the only f***ing receiver on this team capable of getting open and making a play. No way in hell can you bench Berrian. Of course it's not serious....it's just a parody of the crap we've heard about Grossman. This team just isn't very good right now. Ron Turner is becoming Greg Walker-like though.
  25. Terrible call by the refs. Also, isn't it time to bench Berrian? He's been the worst player on the Bears this year, and it's not even close.
