  1. Awesome....we get to see the Richar/Gonzalez platoon go into effect tonight.

Floyd's stuff sucks. The only pitch which is close to being above average is his curve. His fastball is average with little movement. I put this in the game thread last night, but he almost throws a hanging fastball. He has no chance to get lefties out right now with the tilt of his pitches.
  3. QUOTE(frankie5angels @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:43 AM) We must really suck then because we went 4-14 against the NL this year. We do, especially during that stretch.
  4. BTW, I'm sorry if anyone's offended I put the Brewers/Cubs stuff in this thread.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:40 AM) It really doesn't matter. Have you seen the Cubs schedule in September? They will waltz to a division title. The NL may be worse this year than last. Yeah, that's a good point. At least they'll officially reach first place tonight after the local news is over, so we don't have to get that as the lead story.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:34 AM) I wonder if KW could have got the same deal from Philadelphia for Contreras instead of Garcia. Even if he paid Freddy to do nothing this year, he would have shed Contreras' contract and been done with Freddy after 2007. I definitely think he could of.
  7. Nice performance by Matt Wise....10 pitches, 10 balls. Go f*** yourself Brewers.
  8. Wow, this is unreal. Like I mentioned before, the defense being played against the Brewers has been amazing, and the defense vs the Cubs is pathetic.
  9. Wow, horrible AB for Ryan Braun. The Brewers are allergic to getting clutch hits these days.
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) yeah... I'm prepared to see Jordan Danks be our draft pick next season. I heard just terrible reviews about his play for Team USA>
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:05 AM) Yeah, I don't understand why the umpire was so stubborn to not ask for help by the 1st base ump or 3rd base ump. He blew two calls that inning, and he has one of the smallest strike zones I've ever seen. Glavine might have walked 50 guys if the Brewers never swung.
  12. Anyone else just see the Brewers get screwed by the umpire, and then Graffy hit a fly ball to the fence? Mercy, just one of those days.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 02:44 AM) They're not going anywhere in October, if they even get there. I wish I could agree with this, but they have the makings of a team that can do some damage. They have the best pitcher in baseball right now, and he can easily get them enough wins in the playoffs to make it so Lilly and company only have to split their games. Also, Marmol reminds me so much of K-Rod during the Angels run to the WS. Just my thinking, and I'd be so incredibly thrilled if I was wrong.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 02:40 AM) I could give less than two s***s about the Cubs. Cool...but those of us stuck around them non-stop at work, it's hell right now.
  15. Seriously, why can't teams play defense anymore when they face the Cubs?
  16. - Get nothing at the trade deadline to help this team's future.....CHECK - Get stuck with Jose Contreras and 20 million dollars......CHECK - Contreras prove once and for all that he doesn't belong in the rotation.....CHECK - Gavin Floyd continue to show that he sucks.........CHECK - Cross-town rivals go into first place, as the bandwagon overflows.....CHECK Yep, this is just about the worst baseball day we've had yet during a horrible baseball season.
  17. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 02:10 AM) Gavin Floyd will bring back less than the Iguchi trade or Mackowiak trade. Gavin Floyd has about the least fight in him on the mound as anyone I've ever seen. He just looks like a pussy out there. Now we know why the Phillies reporter called him "she".
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 02:08 AM) Is it football season yet? Basketball? Waterpolo? Hell, when is the World Series of Thumb Wars? The next 3 months are going to be absolute hell.
  19. This is how the season goes....within 10 seconds of each other, Ryan Howard lets an easy grounder go under his glove against the Cubs, while S. Green makes a terrific diving catch against the Brewers....WHAT A TERRIBLE BASEBALL SEASON! f***, why can't anyone field against the Cubs now? 3 terrible misplays by the Phils tonight.
  20. This is one of the most embarassing things I've ever seen.
  21. Flash....you ok buddy?
  22. I missed the first game, where he got the hits, but Richar seems to have an uppercut swing that's not going to be very productive if he doesn't adjust.
  23. I love this lineup right now with Owens, Richar, Erstad, and Pods...when you combine that with Floyd on the mound, it might be the worst team anyone has had on the field at one time all season.
  24. Floyd's stuff is just not really impressive. And like Flash says, KW looks worse with every passing day.
  25. Gavin Floyd just has no prayer against lefties. It looks like he throws a hanging fastball.
