It just seems like no matter what happens in a game, this team is always losing in the 8th inning.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) No amount of busting his ass was going to make his body able to take the rigors of a 162 game season. He got himself in good enough shape to make another million dollars or so and to play a couple times a week, because that's all his body was going to be able to take. It's sad, yes, but there are some people in this sport who just have taken too much of a pounding to be able to avoid these sorts of injuries. That's why he would have been the perfect 4th outfielder. Of course, our horrible manager thought it would be a good idea to play him 90 pct of the time.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) How can people be a fan of this Masset kid? He sucks. The scouting report I heard about him when we traded him was right. His stuff isn't special, and he doesn't fool hitters.
-
It's sad when we bring in the guy with a WHIP near 2 and an ERA over 6 to come in as our top righty set-up man.

QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) Just calling it as I see it, and apparantly a couple of others too. Or should I say "we" as you do. It's all opinions anyways, what's the difference. You did notice that someone who's been around here a lot longer than you completely understood I was joking about Hendry?
-
Here comes the obligatory extra run we've been allowing late in the game.

QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) You post so much, you forget what you say. When it's brought up, you say you meant something else. That appears to be the pattern. Whatever man, knock yourself out, 3 posters called you out in this thread and you went into spin mode. I'm just not going to respond to this crap anymore. Find someone else to act as their subconscious.
-
can we get one guy on and let Thome hit his first walkoff....please?
-
Quite a large zone he could pitch to when you compare the Konerko and Fields homer.
-
QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) Maybe you should quit your constant spinning and fess up when you're called out. Just an idea. You're talking to the wrong person if you think I'm afraid of sticking up for what I believe in. You're wrong on this one when it comes to how I think about Hendry.
-
QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) No it wasn't. Wow can you spin. Your post had Linebrink in the Cubs bullpen, you said it gave them 5 quality righthanders. I qouted it because you reacted first, then got the truth on the trade later. Did you not notice me also saying that they severely downgraded their catching position? Good grief, if you have such a problem with what I say, just put me on ignore. You weren't around during the offseason when I was ripping on Hendry.

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) Dukes is fast!!! Not faster than his sperm.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 10:02 PM) A healthy Tampa Bay? I'm not doubting you, and I know I responded to that post, but I more had in mind a post you had in the Barrett trade thread about Hendry usually doing well in trades. Did you notice that Rocco is hurt again? He's out another two months.

I'm not doubting you, and I know I responded to that post, but I more had in mind a post you had in the Barrett trade thread about Hendry usually doing well in trades. Um....that was 100 pct sarcasm. Did you notice how I said underneath that Linebrink is nothing special? The Pierre trade from last year isn't ridiculed enough.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Gosh damn, sometimes it seems like you really just like to suck off the Cubs and Hendry. I'm not sayin'.... I'm just sayin'... You won't find a faster defensive outfield than Soriano, Pie, and Pagan. Please list one that is faster.
-
QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) I don't think you could get anyone for him now. You really have to love him saying he thinks his quad might burst any play.
-
Was Buehrle's pitch count high?
-
Our lack of speed, and their amazing speed in the outfield, cost us that inning.
-
The rally killer strikes again.
-
And now he hits one....thanks ump!
-
Just looked at the numbers....and ARam was better than Crede in every offensive category, and he almost doubled his walk totals.
-
I feel bad for Erstad. He busted his ass to get in shape this offseason, and then he hurts himself on 2 out of 3 plays. I'm not going to let the idiots running this team and Hawk's crush on Erstad make me not appreciate him.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) I'll sacrifice the 10 home runs for the defense Joe Plays. (And Joe's numbers would still have been better if his back hadn't ruined his September) Ramirez's defense is incredibly underrated. I watch both teams play about 150 times a year, and I honestly don't think there's much of a difference at all.
-
This is such a pathetic team to watch. It's to the point where everyone should be on the market.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) I'd still take the Crede of last year over Ramirez. The question of course is whether we'll ever see that Crede again (and the odds aren't good). I'll take the guy who nearly hit 40 homers and had over 110 RBI.
