  1. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:38 AM) Blow up this team's pitching staff. It is horrible. Fire our pitching coach?
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:34 AM) At least Cliff had an excuse for sucking. What the heck happened to Neal? These guys sell their soul to the devil last year? Yes....I think we should be forever grateful that guys like Politte and Cotts were two of the best set-up men on the planet. Neither of them are anywhere close to being above average MLB pitchers.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:33 AM) Hopefully not with us. Just another, "Thanks for 2005 now get the outta here!" to Neal Cotts. His performance over the last few months has made the 2005 Marte look like Cy Young. Cotts is definitely someone who should be on the trade market.
  4. Here's a question: will Neal Cotts be in the majors next year? Here come the boo birds tonight. It's too bad Ozzie won't get fired for this mess. He's done an absolutely horrific job of managing during the 2nd half of the season.
  5. Crede's just pathetic right now. 0 for his last 26, and trying to pull everything.
  6. Our relievers just continue to suck. Dear Don Cooper...please teach our lefty relievers a legitimate offspeed pitch.
  7. At least Fields is making contact when he has two strikes...that's all I want to see from him right now.
  8. Ha....AJP with his typical crappy AB with RISP because his swing gets too long.
  9. Some very nice ABs this inning. It looks like Hermanson's enthusiasm after the top of the inning has carried over.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) interesting....Nationals selected Ryan Zimmerman 5th in the draft so Broadway must not have meant that much to Wash. i wonder if we ever shopped pods & bmac for soriano? in other words KW killed the deal that was supposedly imminent? The deal was never close to being completed. Jim Bowden basically used his friendship with Kjurkijan (no clue how to spell his last name) in order to try and create a bidding war for Soriano. The Sox were never going to trade for Soriano, and then lose him after 2 months. We won't be able to afford his 4-60 million dollar deal he'll get after this year (watch the Cubs try to get him to play 2B). Remember when people said that Contreras throwing from the side wasn't done in order to alleviate the pressure on his back? Just look at how much more sidearm Hermanson is pitching this year with his bad back.
  11. That's about the 20th time that Thome has started running to first base, and then got called out either looking or on the check swing.
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) Minny is going to be around all year, but I dont buy the Tigers coming into next season. Unless they make some pretty significant changes to that lineup, it doesnt scare anyone, and its getting older. They still have strong starting pitching, and every indication is that their owner is going to be very active in the FA market. They're going to be a definite threat for the AL Central crown next season.
  13. We have a very good chance of finishing up last in the AL Central during the 2nd half of the season. That is absolutely pathetic.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 01:33 AM) i am wondering if KW is kicking himself for not pulling the BA & BMac for Soriano deal. Keep the same team as last and at the allstar break trade for soriano? that sounds like pretty good hindsight. Good grief, give up the whole "keep the same team from last season" routine. How would you acquire Soriano? Did you really want Duque in the starting rotation?
  15. Not a terrible swing by Fields. He looked overmatched by Meche's fastball, but it'll take him time to shorten his swing.
  16. QUOTE(Bhay99 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) a 15-1 loss would really put a cap on this season, lets do it! I'm sure Ozzie will just tell people to blame him.
  17. I don't think you could pay me to go to the games tomorrow and Sunday.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) If he actually tore something, would he be able/would they let him walk on it? Judging by how they were rubbing it, it looks like a cramp.
  19. Contreras getting helped off the field reminds me of people at a retirement home getting help walking.
  20. I don't care if he gets up and starts walking....shut him down!!!!!!!!
  21. And down goes Contreras. He looks injured...time to shut him down for the season. This season can't end soon enough.
  22. It's getting to the point where if we can get some good value for Contreras, you have to consider trading him. There's been such a huge decline in his stuff since last season. No one is mentioning how he's throwing 3 mph less than he was last year.
  23. Wow...why are we even bothering playing these games? I can't believe how much this team has flat out quit.
  24. The crowd is starting to boo. I hope Ozzie has a very short leash with Contreras tonight. We might as well shut him down for the rest of the year. Good grief...get someone up in the bullpen. What a disaster Contreras has been since his injury.
