  1. Good job Fields! Why does it seem like every other team gets from 1st to 3rd on a hit-and-run single to LF?
  2. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) But...but... he's a gold glover. Just like Crede is.
  3. Uribe is absolutely worthless at the plate. The ball just dies when he hits it.
  4. I'm getting real tried of people saying "it's not Walker's fault". Well, wouldn't that be true in 99 pct of the cases where a coach ends up getting fired? The fact that no changes have been made within our organization really worries me.
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) What happened I went to let the dog out? Easy double play chopper up the middle. Iguchi was real close to Uribe, and tossed it to him. Uribe dropped it, had to go get it and tag 2nd.
  6. Another magical turn by our pathetic double play tandem. I don't want to see either of those guys back next year.
  7. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) no im not, its just this team continues to break my heart, game in, game out. even though paulie had a nice rip there, the first pitch was good for a 400 foot bomb. since he hit the grand slam in game 2 of the WS, he hasnt learned his lesson that the first pitch is the best pitch u will probably see in the whole at bat thanks....I needed a laugh at that stupid post.
  8. We're getting shut down by someone with an 85 mph fastball. If this follows the typical Sox game, we'll go down by about 3 or 4 soon as the opposition will get 3 hits in about a span of a minute.
  9. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) why? then we'll be so excited that a win could turn it around, and then our bats wont even show up tomorrow, we'll lose 8-0 Cause I'll get tired if I have to root against this team over the next 100 games. It's not like them losing is going to make the Sox make any changes. Things can't get much worse than they've been.
  10. Come on Thome! He's lacking something since he returned.
  11. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) I hope we lose this game 1-0. It's just so fitting. I hope this team wins.
  12. Has anyone mentioned how much DJ loves Terrero? Whenever Terrero plays, DJ is always going nuts about him. I'd love to see an argument between Hawk and DJ over the ability of Erstad vs Terrero.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Yeah a 4th OF like Byrnes is going to turn the franchise around. Eric Byrnes would be a great fit in LF for us, but it's too bad he'll cost a fortune. Garland's always had one of the worst change-ups I've seen in the majors. He's been better since he stopped throwing it so much.
  14. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) One of the broadcasters on FOX is talking like it's in the bag that Buehrle will be re-upped. or atleast he making it obvious that KW shouldn't let him get away but he will, won't he? He said they should bring him back....not exactly a deep thought. What JR and KW need to do at the end of this month is go to him with their final offer. If he laughs it off, then you trade him.
  15. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:50 PM) Hence my fear that we had our shot at being a legitmate franchise and will not turn out to be. Teams are not going to give up big prospects unless they sign him long-term and that is my fear. I see a couple of Jon Adkins returns. Williams has a tendency to make some really bad trades or not get enough in return for his players. Where does the $20M go if the three free agents leave? Crede also could be signed for a cut althoguh I doubt it. Great inning there I see another shutout. You'll see the payroll go from about 100 million to 80 million over the next few years. We were a good franchise for an extended period. We're going to be facing our roughest years in a long, long time coming up. Just be thankful we didn't extend Dye or Crede. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) regarding iguchi's pending free agent status, i'm all for signing luis castillo in the offseason. the sox better sign eric byrnes, tori hunter, or luis castillo. those are impact players we need and one fo those 3 could get us back on the winning track for next season. Yeah, Luis Castillo is the one thing keeping us from being good.
  16. Well that's just stupid. Nothing like finally sending him on a 2-2 pitch. Iguchi always gets distracted with a runner in motion. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) Put Fields in f***ing motion Hey Gooch, swing the mother f***ing bat. God you are pissing me off. Hopefully Iguchi keeps swinging decently so we can trade him. I want nothing to do with him from 2008 and out.
  17. 2-1 is a good situation for a hit-and-run. I don't get it....Ozzie said he wants to get guys on that can run so he can be active, yet he tries nothing.
  18. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) I am sorry but this is a guy you try and keep. I do not want AAA players. He makes every start and that is very rare. You build a team around him and Garland if you are a serious franchise. I hate to break it to you, but both Buehrle and Garland will likely not be with the White Sox come 2009.
  19. We have the uppercut swings going today. And Buehrle's going to make way too much money in this next contract. We have too many holes to give him 4/60.
  20. The good news is that Buster Olney said today that Buehrle might go on the market soon, and he'll be the best player available.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:29 PM) On a note totally unrelated to your post, Clippard has impressed me so far. I think he's going to be a nice middle-to-back-end starter for the Yanks. That's the type of guy I would've liked to have seen Kenny get along with Gio in the Freddy G trade. We only trade for hard throwers now. Pitching ability is overrated. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:29 PM) i know man, its the first time our hitters have ever faced amazing stuff and fastballs THIS IS THE MAJORS! USUALLY GUYS HAVE AMAZING STUFF! You do know I was being sarcastic?
