  1. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 02:04 AM) The only problem with that was they would have went to Zagurski, and we know how Thome does against lefties. I had no problem with saving him. I highly doubt they would have pulled Eaton in the 6th inning.
  2. Carlos Zambrano is the most unprofessional motherf***er I've ever seen. He was jumping around like they had just won the World Series on a strikeout in the 8th inning....and the inning wasn't even over.
  3. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 02:00 AM) Thome didn't even get on base tonight! Thome should have been brought in when Uribe had two guys on in the 6th, I believe. You have to make sure you use your best weapon in a situation where he can do damage.
  4. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 01:00 AM) He told Ozzie he could play, same with Owens. KW doesn't have any better answers in the minors. Do you PH Andy Gonzalez or Owens there? Seriously? What's Cintron going to do, say he can't play? If he keeps telling them he's feeling soreness, then you put him on the DL based on how he's looked in the field/at the plate this year. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that he's nowhere near 100 pct in terms of strength. You can call up Sweeney, as you already have Gonzalez to be the middle infielder on the bench.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:58 AM) We pinch hit a guy who should be on the DL. What the f*** is this, managing by blindfold. Like I said, Ozzie would be a crazy manager in the NL.
  6. Just DL Cintron! He's basically been telling them he's not healthy, but they keep telling him to suck it up.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) I know the Cubs are in a bad division, but if you watch some of their games, that team isn't a threat. They'll have flashes because of their offense, but they play bad baseball How are they not a threat? No one hates the Cubs more than I do, but they're the best hitting team in the NL. Zambrano's also finally getting his act together, and he's usually dominant from this point of the season on. They've had a ton of bad luck this year in terms of one-run games, and if they can get that turned around, they should win that division with ease. I'd love to see the Brewers stay tough, but they might be one year away and one pitcher/hitter away. Can we just loan them Buehrle?
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:52 AM) The Royals kind of f***ed up their pitching this weekend. And our underachieving mopes make Eaton look like Johan. It was like how the A's dominated the Royals pitching staff, and then they come into the Cell and have Cy Perez, Cy Elarton, and Cy De la Rosa.
  9. Ugh, and the worst thing is going to have to hear all day tomorrow how Carlos Zambrano is back. We're going to be facing him next weekend at the Cell.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:50 AM) I agree, I don't want to second guess, so I'll get in on this now, if Rowand beats you, then he beats you, can't let Howard do it How can you not walk Howard there? I applaud Ozzie for making the sane decision.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:49 AM) Javy Vazquez is awesome. I'm surprised he doesn't win 20 every year. He's got such a losing mentality. He pitches just well enough to lose. He's the opposite of guys like Garcia or Pettitte, etc.
  12. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:44 AM) Look at this lineup. AJ batting 3rd.... Mackowiak leading off... Uribe batting 6th... Dye can't hit.... Luis Terrero in CF..... It's just a bad lineup. 8 minor leaguers on the roster. It's bad when I see the Astros lineup, and I think they have a lot better talent. This Phils lineup reminds me of the Yankees lineup. You see it, and you just don't feel like a team that can score more than 3 runs can beat them. Hamels will be interesting tomorrow.
  13. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) I wonder if Jermaine has been reviewing tapes to figure out what he's doing so differently from last year. He's not staying on top. He's hitting so many pop-ups this year. Last year, he was a line drive machine, as he would spray the ball all around the field with authority. I can't think of more than one or two hits he's had with authority to the opposite field this year. We just need to trade him yesterday, as his value will keep going down. It would be impressive if we lose another game 2-0 where the only hits we allow our homers.
  14. QUOTE(rafacosta @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:38 AM) this is disgusting....why Terrero is not hitting in front of Uribe? You're not allowed to question Ozzie....it's not his fault.
  15. Someone please explain to me why we have our worst two hitters hitting in front of Terrero, who might be our 2nd best hitter after PK right now? Oh well....not a lot you can do. I would have loved to see Ozzie bring in Thome to hit there. Might as well use him in a situation he can do some damage.
  16. Please just trade him so we don't have to watch him bat anymore.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:27 AM) Good to hear, I'm glad someone took responsability for this I think it was Thom Brenneman who said that so many people are taking responsibility for the poor player....that it's time for someone to do something about the poor player. It shouldn't be a pissing contest to see who can take more blame.
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:26 AM) He came out and said "blame me. I put this team together." Sounds like the opposite of what you are asying Yes, but is he willing to blow the team up and admit they didn't have it this season? I'd have so much respect if KW did this.
  19. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:24 AM) They aren't going to catch Cleveland and they have a few teams to jump over for the wildcard. I don't think they can win unless a miracle happens and the bullpen can get someone out. I have a feeling KW is not going to want to admit failure however. Buerhle should bring a nice package. Dye could bring something back as well and save money. They actually would have more money to throw at Buerhle this offseason the sooner they deal him. If he's serious about being here that is. I wonder how its going to go over on this board when he signs with the Cardinals and at his introductory press conference says St. Louis is the place he always wanted to be. St. Louis would be such a good trade candidate, if only they had better prospects. I could see Reyes turning into KW's Floyd boy, and he'd be the centerpiece of the trade. If Buehrle doesn't stay with the Sox, I'd love to see him go to the Cards.
  20. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:24 AM) I don't know that Williams can wait that long to make a move - IF he intent on helping the team this season. Cleveland and Detroit are just too good to hope the current situation improves....Oh wait, I forgot D.Erstad is coming back! He better not even think about making a big move to help this team. And BTW, the reports on Erstad aren't promising. It went from him being sure he could return after 15 days to him saying that he's not sure how long he'll be out. He's a tough dude, but that's a painful injury and something he's going to tweak a few more times this year.
  21. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:19 AM) is mack the worst leadoff hitter ever for the whitesox He's not even the worst of the last two weeks. The problem with Mackowiak is he's streaky, and he's in a bad funk now. Might as well let Terrero try, even though I think we're going to rush Pods back now.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) It's time to seriously consider it, Williams. Not to necessarily trade away everything now, but if someone blows us away with a package for either Dye or Buehrle, it may be wise to think about approving it. Two weeks is my prediction. If the Cubs kick our ass, then you'll hear everyone saying we're done.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) This team has no f***ing clue on what a strike is. You throw it over their melon, they swing at it. You burn a worm 10 feet in front of home plate and they are swinging at it. We are an anti-OBP team. We have huge long home run cuts in positions that we need a single. Just say we suck...it's much more efficient. Losing's never been so easy to handle.
  24. If Ozzie managed (and I hope it's soon) in the NL, he might bunt 5 times a game.
  25. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) Or his typical 6 inning 4 or 5 runs with 7 k's and people talking about how great he pitched. Sutcliffe believes he tips his pitches. He was calling location by his wind up. Been meaning to ask you DA....what's your thoughts on if it's better for this team to lose right now over the next few weeks in order to convince KW and Ozzie that this team sucks?
