We are so slow at turning the double play.
-
Pretty impressive speed by Terrero. I'm all for giving him the chance to start the rest of this year.

It's amazing just how bad Dye is in every aspect.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
fathom replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Dye and MacDougal for Billingsley and Betemit.....sign me up. It's almost to the point where I'd rather we fall even farther behind the Indians and Tigers so that KW doesn't hold out hope. -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:39 AM) That's my point!! You are noticeably bipolar and depressed to ME, imagine what it is like to everybody else. Should Fields have had that ball that led off the 9th? I could not tell at all from my angle. But I can say this: if Jenks is smart and throws the hook 1-2 to Berkman like he did to Lee, I bet he gets the same result he got with Lee (a double play) and we are tied after 8 and a half innings. I would assume that is on A.J. though. Yes Fields should have had it, and Berkman didn't have a 1-2 count. When someone is bipolar, doesn't that mean that their mood changes a lot? I've been down on this team all season.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:34 AM) McCarthy does not have the stuff to be a 2 or 3, and Danks does. That is why I like our spot more than anything else. And Chris Young and not trading Crede will haunt KW in his sleep when his job is terminted. There's no way anyone can know that.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:31 AM) I hope you don't want him over Danks now. That is the direction your posts are going. I think both of them are going to be very solid pitchers in the majors. And no, I'm not saying I'd rather have him. If anything, I still am disappointed that we never gave him the chance to start from the get go last year, that's all. However, that ship has sailed, and with it, went Chris Young.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:24 AM) They are almost the same player basically except one is a SS, one is a 3B, and Joe had his career year 2 years later than Greene. And Greene doesn't have a bad back. Not sure why San Diego would make that deal, I wouldn't if I were them. And heck, I'm not even a big fan of Khalil Greene, but then again same goes for Crede. Of course, it would have had to have happened when they were looking for a 3B last offseason. The Padres were very desperate.
-
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) I just find it funny because over the last few weeks, it's probably the least upset I've been after a Sox loss over the last 3 years. I used to try and schedule things around Sox games...now, I don't even care if I miss some of the game. I know they'll be down 1-0 when I get home anyway.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:08 AM) Fathom your becoming borderline bipolar in your depression over this team with some of the stuff you are saying. That Cubs team is a bad team that will lose tomorrow to finish off a 4-3 road trip, and enter tomorrow 6 out of first. And they are 6 under .500. That is a terrible baseball team as well. Of all people to say that I'm bipolar, I wouldn't expect it from you. It's not even that I think the Cubs are a great team....it's just the rest of the teams in their division suck.
-
National League Central continues to show how bad it is....besides whoever plays the Sox, of course.
-
McCarthy looks really good so far tonight.
-
Speaking of the Padres...Khalil Greene was someone that I was hoping we'd trade for last offseason, in exchange for Crede. He'd be a monster outside of PetCo.
-
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:27 PM) Oh come on, what about Milwaukee? That team started their fade sooner than I even expected. They've gone from like 14 above .500 to 5 above in no time.
-
QUOTE(max power @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:24 PM) The cubs are looking pretty damn good to me right now. That team's going to win the NL Central by 7 games. All of the guys they've spent money on have been decent, and their call-ups in Marshall and Pie are looking like damn solid major league players. This baseball season was a nightmare from literally the first batter of the season.
-
Cubs about to score more runs against Tim Hudson through 3 batters than we had all day. I hate this baseball season!
-
QUOTE(Linnwood @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:09 PM) Yeah, heaven forbid we have players showing frustration with how awful the offense has been. We need to get rid of those players... My comment had a lot more to do with the way he's handled the Toby Hall situation, as well as him and Buehrle not getting along. I give more credit to AJ than any other player for our 2005 season. However, you just want to make sure that he gets his focus back.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:07 PM) Those weren't straight fastballs from Jenks, they were that cutter-type pitch that moves down-and-in. Last outing against New York he was hitting a legit 96 on the gun -- that's probably the last thing you should be worried about at this point. Boone Logan rocks, and nice game for Fields today. I now await the Jermaine Dye or Mark Buehrle trade. This team is losing games to bad teams in the NL Central. Time to throw in the towel, although I know the Sox can't really afford to white flag it so early in the season. There were a couple of straight fastballs to Carlos that were 92 or 93 mph. I'm more concerned about Jenks in terms of injury, not his production. Like you said, there's about 30 other members of this organization that are bigger question marks than him. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:07 PM) We need another outfielder who can be a defensive replacement for Dye late in games. He was bad as it is, now it's worse with his injury. Andy Gonzalez isn't an outfielder though.
-
We've scored 3 or less in 10 of our last 11 games.
-
Now I'm concerned about the velocity for Jenks. His pitch speed was way down today. He shouldn't be sitting in the 91-92 mph range. Also....what is the point of having Gonzalez on the bench? He might be the most useless roster member we've ever had.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)

When you have a bullpen that can't get anyone out, why do you play for the tie? -
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:51 PM) Throwing helmet back towards ump = completey retarded. He got what was coming to him, especially AFTER b****ing and slamming the bat. AJP's acting like an asshole right now. You almost have to wonder if his time with this team is coming to an end also.

Yep....we suck! Stupid decision to bunt with Terrero, but I don't blame Ozzie for this game. We're the worst team in baseball right now, and no one seems to care. -

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:55 PM) why give up an out...we need like 6 outs an inning for a run Especially after the guy had thrown 4 straight balls. I'm not sure if Ozzie realized the Astros scored in the top of the inning. I'm guessing a hard grounder to second. -

Terrero and Fields.....sadly, it's two guys I think have the best chance at a walkoff homer.
