White Sox vs. Tigers, 7/25/07 (L)
We need this team to lose every game up until 7/31, just so that we can make sure we won't hear any bulls*** reasons if no trades are made, such as "we're playing better, and we still have a lot of games left against the AL Central....we're not eliminated yet".

Put Haeger into the starting spot, and then let Floyd and Contreras go to the bullpen.

Contreras' ERA is going to be around 7 soon. If Ozzie was being serious when he said that this team has a chance, then he needs to quit right now, as his managing this inning was purely idiotic.

Another hit here, and we're looking at 9 runs for Contreras. 10 runs and 9 runs in consecutive outings is quite impressive. I particularly like Logan being brought in to face a righty after letting a lefty face Contreras....a lefty who is bad against LHP. Can we trade Ozzie at the deadline?

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 02:12 AM) At this point you showcase Contreras by putting him on DL retroactive to before the last 2 appearances Who knows where has confidence would have been if he would have been pulled before the 8th inning last game. Right now, Contreras looks like he's finished being a pitcher who can start in the majors.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 02:10 AM) What a horrible way to end the 8th inning threat for Milwaukee! 1st and 3rd, no outs, come up empty after the inning ends on Mench trying to steal home. Ned Yost is a terrible manager.

Well done Ozzie, you piece of s***. You couldn't have done a worse job of showcasing Contreras if you tried.

Well, right here, Ozzie is officially putting Jose's stats/feelings above that of the team. No way he should be pitching to Granderson.

This is pathetic....make him into a reliever if you have to, but I never want to see Contreras start a game for the Sox again. He's allowed 15 base runners so far today.

Can Contreras give up 8 runs this game after allowing 10 last game?

3 more outs, and the lead is down to 2 games.

Let's see just how long Ozzie can keep Contreras in the game tonight.

Could you imagine what would happen if Floyd was pitching under these conditions?

Wow, the ball is jumping tonight.

Once the deadline passes, you put Contreras on the DL for a month and see if he can finish up strong. His contract is an absolute albatross right now.

Holy cow...I don't know who's worse, Contreras or Floyd. These pitches are pathetic, and I'm so sick of watching Toby call pitches.

9 runners have reached, 9 batters retired. Contreras is so finished. No one is going to want him.

It's astonishing how easy Contreras used to make pitching look, and now hard it seems for him to get more than two guys out in a row. He's consistently down 3 mph whenever he faces righties.

It all started in the offseason for the Cubs, where they bought themselves a lot of talent. They couldn't possibly keep losing as many one run games in crazy fashion as they were for the first 3 months of the season.

Preach on SSI....he should be embarassed by that mammoth homer he just allowed.

The Brewers just aren't that good anymore. They're something like 6 games under .500 since they started off the year hot. Their offense has been real mediocre lately, so I guess overpaying for Linebrink makes sense. J.J. Hardy's power has absolutely vanished.

It's too bad we can't just pull Contreras now. I'll never understand why we don't play the 3rd baseman more down the line when Contreras throws so many low, inside sinkers.

Holy cow, that ball was destroyed. Kudos to Dye for not letting his frustrations lately impact his performance. I hope Dye gets a huge standing ovation during his last at-bat this weekend.

Fields = a cheaper Crede with no back problems
Fields fouls off an insane amount of pitches. As someone so brilliantly mentioned earlier, he doesn't K too often on pitches in the dirt/sliders. Rather, he swings through a lot of high fastballs, and that's something I'm confident he'll improve upon.

So, this is the first I'll say it this year, but we really have to improve our lineup against lefties next year. Hopefully Iguchi will be gone, as people don't realize how dreadful he is against LHP. Having Fields in there everyday will help.
