Uribe's in one of those stretches that makes you wonder how they don't try and change his style.

Danks really seems to be falling off the mound on his delivery more than usual. His control has been off the last few starts, and I think that could be why.

The Reason This Team is Bad, and Yes: It's Ozzie's Fault
fathom replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) are you suggesting that a managerial change is going to turn this season around? I don't think things could be going worse right now, and Ozzie's done nothing to spark this team. He talks a big game in the press, but where are all these changes? -
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 05:04 AM) That's not what he said. I could have sworn that he said he was going to make some changes and manage differently because these guys weren't having enough fun on the field.
-
QUOTE(max power @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:57 AM) I thought ozzie was to blame because the sox aren't having any fun? Well, he was the person who yesterday said he was going to make some changes so the guys would have fun.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:31 AM) So, who projects to be @ the top of next year's draft? Whoever it is, it won't be a Boras player. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:32 AM) Yeah, it does suck. But it is the baseball cycle. No team can be like the Yanks, being a power house from generation to generation. The thing that gets me upset the most is not how the team sucks so bad, but how our GM is a stubborn mule who refuses to admit if he has ever made a wrong move or anything like that and try and fix it. I am getting sick of hearing the same underachieving speech KW gives everytime he talks to the media. The thing that would make me the happiest would see KW finally realizing he f***ed up and start a somewhat rebuilding process. Be patient....KW would look like an even bigger idiot if he publically came out and bashed this team's personnel. If this losing keeps up, we'll be sellers.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:28 AM) He put up great stats, but he was only about stats. You would never hear anything good about him in the club house and such. All the clubhouse stuff came out after we traded him. Quite the shocker coming from our organization.
-
Pods is immune from running thru the base. He also takes his jolly ole time getting to the ball in the outfield. Maybe it's me, but I have no problem with a batter admiring his homer. 99 pct of the time, it's going to be out of the park.

QUOTE(premo @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:45 AM) Doesn't every team still have to have at least one player on the All Star team? Who's going to be our "All Star"...and I use that term loosely Jenks
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:44 AM) He should get booed. He was a lazy hotdog. Him getting traded was a great day. Such irony here. He was one of the 5 best hitters in the Sox organization over the last 20 years. Pods is just as lazy as he is....with 1/1000000th of the talent.
-
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:41 AM) I truly believe the worst-case scenario these next few weeks would be for the White Sox to perform well against the National League, and perhaps give management the illusion this team has turned itself around. Then there's the possibility Williams resists trading Buehrle or anyone else. It makes losing SO MUCH EASIER. I'll make the prediction now that this Yankees team ends the season 7 games better than the Sox.
-
I'd gain so much respect for Ozzie if he just pulls the names out of a hat for the lineup tomorrow. There's no one that has any right to argue with their recent performance. He says he wants them to have fun, but they seem to be playing not to lose.
-
He wasn't on the Rangers when we played him after the trade last year, was he?
-
There's been others that have been worse. If there's an important out to get with 4 outs or less left in the game, we have to get Jenks in the freaking game. Also, Boone should be the lefty specialist. I'd like to see Thornton get to start more innings, as I think he gets preoccupied with runners on base. The rest of the righties in the bullpen are a joke, and KW should be fired instantly.
-
What type of reaction do you think he'll get tomorrow? Will people boo him for no reason?
-
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:30 AM) They might compete for a playoff spot, nothing more than that. Their farm system is nothing special either. Look at that team though...they don't have the glaring holes that we're going to over the next few years. All their main positions will be filled, and Pie is leaps and bounds better than any of our jabronis. I'm sure their new owner will have no problem having a massive payroll.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:28 AM) If KW and Ozzie and JR and Reifert and all the rest of them aren't totally embarrassed right now, shame on them. They had such an opportunity to take over this city, and pissed it away. I'm going to catch some s*** for this, but the Cubs are easily going to be the superior Chicago team over the next 3 years. That team has a ton of talent, and they're actually playing some good ball now. Once they get ARod next year, they're going to have an incredible team. Fire away on me now, I can take it.
-
Is it me, or did Gonzalez just not catch that on the fly? Looks like he played the short hop, even though he should have caught it normally.
-
Haha....that's symptomatic of when you have such a s***ty bench that you have to put someone over there that's never played there. This team has quit on Ozzie.
-
I've been patient in terms of saying blow it up all year, but after tonight, it's time to drastically change the look of this team. This team just isn't good. Dye should be the first one to go.
-
QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:22 AM) Jose leaves in the 8th inning having yielded 1 run with 2 runners on...less than 5 outs later there are 8 runs on the board. This team is not entertaining me. Happens about twice a week these days. This sounds bad, but I'd rather still see MacDougal and Aardsma up over these losers. At least they have a chance to get back on track and being MLB caliber relievers.
-
QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:21 AM) MLB players versus minor league players. We now know what the KC fans have been going through. I was just typing that. Buckvich vs ARod....who in the hell do you think is going to win that battle?
-
Things have gotten so bad that we have people in the crowd running on the field to try and hit against our relievers.
-
Haha....KW and Ozzie really should be out of a job. This is some of the poorest managing and general managing I've ever seen.
-
I'm not sure how much blame he should receive, but Ozzie has tha magic touch these days with his moves.
