White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/04/07 (L)
Iguchi's batting average against LHP is now around .160. There's not a chance in hell he should be brought back next year.

QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) Rosenthal was adding his opinion on the Garcia thing too. After all, he went with it and printed it. If he didn't believe that particular viewpoint he would have stated otherwise. Nope, Rosenthal was quoting other baseball executives about the Garcia thing. The thing is, everyone in baseball knows that 4/56 is too good of a deal for the Sox to pass up. However, that doesn't mean it will happen.

Impressive 86 mph fastballs from Contreras. It's just painful to watch him pitch these days. It's really the first albatross contract that KW has caused us to have. Haha....this is a pathetic showing by Contreras. He's done! I wonder if we'll ever see him as a pitcher with an ERA under 5 in his career again? Also, Aardsma warming up means no Floyd on Friday.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:28 AM) Bases loaded, no runs. Too bad Terrero is latino. Too bad you don't stick to your word. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:30 AM) When did he say that? He said that prior to Buehrle's start on Monday during his interview he gave. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:29 AM) If Paulie were a horse he'd be in the glue factory by now--along with Thome and Dye. 2 outs, softly hit single to right field, and the right fielder is playing deep....my grandma could score in that situation.

KW said that he won't make any other moves until the Buehrle situation is resolved. Like I keep saying, the worst case scenario is trading Buehrle for a less-than-spectacular package, and then keeping Contreras around for the next two years.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:21 AM) He keeps taking a dump on the mound, and we wont be talking Milledge anymore. I think that ship sailed a long time ago. We're looking at some B/C prospects if we expect anyone to take on his contract.

If you find a team willing to take on Contreras and his contract, you do the trade, and you don't care what you get in return.

Buehrle Fest
The funny thing is, Tampa doesn't have a whole lot to trade us. Dukes is too much of a character issue, Baldelli is hurt too much, and they're not going to trade Upton or Young now. The only guy is Crawford, but that would make no sense at all. I can't see them trading Longoria or Brignac.

Buehrle Fest
QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) That's nice. Information was leaking all over the place, who knows where Farmer picked it up. You have pissing contests going on between reporters and Merkin, it is a spaghetti bowl of information. You were the guy who as I recall from reading, believed Rosenthal when he said the Sox could have gotten more for Freddy. Well now he is saying Buehrle will sign. Why not go with that instead of Buehrle giving a watch to AJ as a doomsday scenario that MB will be traded? You see, it's all a tangled web. Let it play out, then everyone can squawk. Just because things arent getting done in accordance with SoxTalk posters' timetables means nothing. Things will happen in due course. Farmer got his information directly from Buehrle about the 14 million, and that happened when everyone in the world was quoting 4/50. There's one big difference between the Rosenthal's (even though I think it was Jayson Stark) report on this situation and the Garcia one. On the Garcia trade, he said he got his information from other team's executives. Rosenthal does nothing but give his own opinion on this Buehrle deal though, as he would be shocked if we didn't get this done due to the concessions being made by Buehrle. I do find it you mention time tables, as it's been KW and Cowley mentioning when they wanted things done. This has to get done so one way or another, as even KW has said he won't make any other moves until the Buehrle situation is resolved.

QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) Well then post it was Farmer. You didn't. What's the difference, Farmer yaps so much anyways even he doesn't know what he's spouting half the time. I do agree though that it if posting less made you happier, please do it. Farmer was the first person to report Buehrle wanted 14 million a year.

QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) My gosh, please let it stop. What did the tarot cards say this morning, how about Buehrle's horoscope, what about the tea leaves or maybe the magic 8 ball? Or maybe the butler did it in the study with the pipewrench. This is not a game of Clue. It's not as if a watch can't be deliverd by FedEx. Good grief, you do know this was Farmer who was saying it's interesting that he gave him the watch now? I guess I'll stop posting what people are actually saying, and I'll sit back and read the daily pissing contests that are going on now about who's a better fan, etc.

KW Speaks about Buehrle's NTC
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 04:09 AM) What do you make of Philly scouts at the game? Who do you think they are looking at? No clue...all I know is that they have very little in terms of prospects.

KW Speaks about Buehrle's NTC
Just another day of public relations spin. Buehrle and his agent have made themselves look great in this, and now they're putting all the pressure on the Sox to either cave in and give the NTC, or they'll look absolutely horrible in the Chicago media and to the fans.

Pods to be placed on DL
Guilllen speaks about Pods....they better not even think about bringing him back next year. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines

White Sox Winner!
Any confirmation of who's starting on Friday? The Trib said it could be Floyd.

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/03/07 (W)
Fantastic start by Vazquez. Now, we get back to debating how many fans we'll average next year and who qualifies for a NTC.

7/3 Games
Ely allowed 1 run in 3 innings, but he also allowed 6 base runners and only had one K.

Buehrle Fest
FWIW, Buehrle finally gave AJP the watch he owed him from the no-hitter. The fact he gave it to him now would make it seem like he might be leaving soon.

J. Ely is starting for GF tonight. Did Poreda get his start skipped?

Carlos Marmol has been doing his best K-Rod impersonation lately. This Cubs team is pretty damn good right now.

Mets Interested in Contreras?
Good night on the trade front, as the Mariners and Mets saw their 5th starters get shelled.

Someone might want to tell Noah that the Bulls owner also owns the Sox.
