  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 06:16 AM) Regardless of if Kenny is horrible and fired in 3 years or if he wins another World Series or two, this will be looked back upon as his biggest mistake as GM, and by a wide margin (this being not dealing Crede this winter). Nope....2nd worst move
  2. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 05:23 AM) someone associated with the Jays apparently said the sox look lethargic to him, just seems like the vets on this team don't really care all that much about winning, especially with their salaries Poor Jerry Manuel....when he was the manager, it was his fault, and never the players.
  3. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 05:02 AM) Right, because another guy with a devastating hook and extremely average fastball didn't just sign a 7 year, 126 million dollar deal this offseason... I remember when a similar thing was said about Arnie Munoz.
  4. Guys....we're not getting anything for Crede now. He's the definition of damaged goods.
  5. Doesn't seem like anyone's optimistic he'll be able to avoid some type of surgery. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:58 AM) He'll make $5.25M next year then he has a team option for '09 worth $8.25M and another for '10 worth $10M. So if you trade for him now, he'll be under your control for the next 3 years at $23.5M which is very reasonable. That's better than what someone said it was....I'M BACK ON THE CRAWFORD BANDWAGON!
  7. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:34 AM) ThereisnowaywecouldgetCrawfordandstillkeepDanks+Gio The problem with getting Crawford now is that he's going to be a FA in a few years.
  8. Chris Young with another mammoth homer tonight.
  9. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:13 AM) Tell me whom the Sox can realistically get for him, and then tell me how much those prospects are going to improve the Sox' chances of making the playoffs the next couple of years. The prospects should be guys that can hopefully be core members of the team from 2009 to 2011. I still would love to get Milledge and a pitching prospect from the Mets.
  10. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:10 AM) If they don't turn things around soon, there is no future--at least not for a long time. They're not going to get anything for Dye the way he's playing so far. They probably won't get much for Buehrle either. Prospects are suspects, and nobody is going to give blue chip prospects for guys who are underperforming. If guys like Dye, Iguchi, Crede, Konerko and even Buerhle were performing well, the Sox would be right near the top and there would be no need to sell them off. If they don't begin to perform soon, you're not going to get anything for them. Buehrle is the best player possibly available. Even a mediocre GM could get a lot of value for him.
  11. I'm just happy to see Fields make contact every at-bat. If he keeps a high rate of contact, he'll be just fine. Also, anyone expecting Gio to ever be more than a #4 or 5 is going to be disappointed.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:31 AM) Dye for Abreu please. Yep, let's spend 16 million on one guy next year when we have so many holes. The 2008 Sox will have more holes that need to be filled than Paris Hilton when she gets out of jail.
  13. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:28 AM) are we still sure we wouldnt trade dye for abreu? Yes
  14. If you would have told me that Masset, Prinz, Day, and Buckvich were our righty set-up men, I would have told you that the AAA team likely wouldn't be good.
  15. Like I said last night, KW should be ashamed of this bullpen.
  16. I still think we should try and trade for Milledge. He could end up being a complete bust....but he has the tools and charisma to be a special player. Just like how Jenks possessed an arm that we don't have in our system, he possesses the type of talent that we don't develop.
  17. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:20 AM) How come nobody in the organization has been commenting on this offense? When was the last time Hawk said "I never seen a team with this much talent go through a funk like this?" That was the 2006 slogan. 2007 slogan will be "they just could never all be healthy at the same time".
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:19 AM) You know, that's a sad point. This is so much less frustrating than that 7 game skid in August-Sept of 05...I miss those days. Those guys seemed to care. This team just makes losing seem so easy now.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:16 AM) DJ trying to take some heat off the offense. Stating that our pitching should just buck it up, and pitch out of their minds and dont allow the other team to score. 4 runs a game we score. When was the last time 4 crossed the plate. It's getting to the point where I'm way too comfortable with us losing. I don't even think my blood pressure is high right now.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:09 AM) fathom, you know better than that. Someone will complain either way. Hell, Owens scored on JD's flyball the other night and you yourself complained. Yep, it was stupid to send him in that inning. At both points in the game, the out is more vital than the run scoring. If someone like Owens is out by as much as he was in the last inning, then that's a bad call.
  21. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:05 AM) Is it just me or do the White Sox lead the league in getting runners nailed at the plate by 20 feet? We have to run 100 feet per base, and the opponents get 80 feet.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:04 AM) Either way, SoxTalk b****es about it. Let's see.....Owens gets a bad jump, Cabrera is playing shallow and has an amazing arm, there's one out, and the Sox are down 3 with your best power hitter on deck. I hope no one would have been complaining if he held him.
  23. Wow, more stupid coaching. I can't wait for this whole coaching staff to be fired.
  24. I can't believe DJ just said "Wang has to be ready for guys beating stuff off"
  25. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:52 AM) The rest of the team might be too lethargic to help Dye not die though. They'd have no problem pulling him up....pulling is the one thing they know how to do.
