  1. Quoted from chicagosports: "The extra day of rest should help most injured Sox recover from nagging strains, although DH Jim Thome (rib cage) may be held out until next week's series in Seattle."
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 06:16 AM) I think fathom is right. I heard on the Score that Thome's injury could be much worse than they're letting on. Bernstein made a reference to being told by someone within the organization that this could be the type of injury that lingers all season. I don't even want to think about our chances if we're going to have Thome out for stretches this year.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 06:11 AM) I heard the exact opposite. Ozzie said Thome and JD could have played today, and even yesterday, but didn't want to risk it. CSN also reported that Thome felt much much better. He said so himself in an interview. Not what's on chicagosports right now. Dye would have played, not so for Thome.
  4. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 03:32 AM) I do agree with you, and i think the sox know it as well. They made room on the 40 man, because something is up on the trade front. Don't know when but something is coming, With Thome injured and turning into a question mark, we need to upgrade this offense as soon as possible.
  5. Thome's not likely to play this weekend, which really stinks cause we're facing 3 lefties. There's been hints that his injury is more serious than has been reported, and it's probably 50/50 now that he goes on the DL. If this is a muscle issue, he could easily reaggrevate it throughout the year.
  6. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) lol, just having fun with the postponement I hadn't seen the game thread yet. I'm thrilled it's postponed.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) Crede will not make the game tonight also MacDougal and Aardsma are also unavailable out of the pen Wow, what now? Not quite sure why Aardsma won't be available. What a disaster is on our hands right now.
  8. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) The Sox are 3-3 in games started by LHP. Even with the record, our hitting has been abysmal against LHP so far this year. We're averaging a very few amount of hits against the starting lefty. No surprise after last year and Hall's injury.
  9. It would be nice though if our starting pitchers can focus out of the gate though. I did get a kick out of Hawk saying that Cooper isn't arrogant tonight.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 03:25 AM) Sweeney is hitting .246 in AAA right now. I don't think he is ready to step in and be our savior yet. One point higher than Terrero than coming into today. Our offensive players in the minors are brutal so far at the high levels.
  11. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) People just wanted to give him a chance early on. He looks terrible, absolutely terrible so far. The problem is Terrero and Sweeney haven't done anything in AAA either. We need a solution in LF for the next month and a half.
  12. Anderson looks like a pitcher batting. He's a pathetic hitter. Right now, we have one healthy outfielder. We're in a little of trouble.
  13. Please get healthy Dye and Thome. Without you two, we have below average offensive talent with no one on the bench to pick you up.
  14. What's worse....Brian Anderson's swing or the soxtalk server? I'm so f***ing sick of Brian Anderson. He's nothing but a terrible hitting distraction.
  15. Swings right past an 85 mph fastball. Watch him take called 3rd.
  16. Zumaya should have never been allowed to face Uribe. He's such a class act.
  17. Get Thome or Dye on deck.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 02:38 AM) Even Jerry Owens has cooled off after his hot start. That .400 OBP is now .359 and his impressive K:BB is now even (still good but headed in the wrong direction.) As of right now there really aren't any hot hitting young outfielders in AAA. "young outfielders"? Terrero and Owens are both very old for prospects, aren't they?
  19. Over/under on called third strikes tomorrow on Robertson's inside fastball? I'm going with 4.5.
  20. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 02:53 AM) did i just hear that peavy has 9 Ks in a row?? Yep
  21. Oh Hawk....I can't wait to hear you state how tough the division is every single night.
  22. BTW, Sizemore is hitting under .200 against the rest of the league so far.
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 02:51 AM) Twins win, walk off two run homer. j/k. Royals win 4-3 :wink: You son of a b****....the sad thing is that I thought it was true for sure.
  24. I've missed some games on TV this year, but has Crede made a diving stop all season?
  25. Way to boost his confidence Ozzie.
