White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) Hell we have people on this board bashing our rookies who reach base every PA including hitting a homer. I'm still holding out hope that was sarcasm.

Hawk really is Grandma Erstad.

QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:35 AM) I feel a little better after looking at Alex Gordon's stats. .164 with 37 strikeouts in 110 at bats. At least he walks (has 13), but damn, the Royals rushed him. Those are sub Anderson numbers. Imagine how much we would hate Gordon on this board? I like that the Royals rushed him. He had nothing left to accomplish in the minors. They know they're not competing for the title this year, so why not get him experience.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:36 AM) Grienke's numbers coming in: 5.80 ERA, 1.79 WHIP So far after this game: 5.35 ERA, 1.68 WHIP Was there ever any doubt as soon as we saw him warming up in the pen?

Pink Bats
This is a great cause....but these hitters have been swinging a pink bat all year.

Cintron back on bereavement list
Best wishes to Cintron. Gonzalez should start at 2nd base, and Iguchi should start looking for real estate back in Japan.

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
Aren't players in their free agent year supposed to do good? I hate this f***ing offense so much. KW deserves so much blame for not upgrading the crap we saw all during the 2nd half last year. At least we have more AAAA pitchers.

Holy s*** does this offense suck. Greinke's going to finish off this game.

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
Ironic that Dye makes an out on a play he would be 20 feet away from.

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
So we have Dye, Mackowiak, Crede, Iguchi, Sweeney, and Erstad to get us one run. Someone please hit a homer. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) People are calling him a god and all this garbage. It just bothers me when Scott Podsednik was hitting .300 and people value him like a piece of s*** and Sweeney has played like an average Major League hitter and everyone is gaga over him. Greinke has an excellent change-up, and Sweeney took the 3-2 pitch beautifully. Way too many hitters on this team don't know how to work the count for a walk. I think Thome has more walks than the rest of the team combined.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:26 AM) "The hitters are just putting too much pressure on themselves." "It's not technically summer yet, so it's okay we're not hitting." "It's a domino effect -- one hitter starts pressing, and then the other guy starts pressing. Poor guys!" "Injuries!" Am I missing anything? "This team is too talented not to get on a roll"....wait a second, that was last year's battle cry.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:23 AM) The theory of lift and pull as an offensive strategy needs to be put to bed on the southside forever. This is a f***ing joke that this craphole pitching staff of the Royals is holding us to 3 runs. The Tigers put a 9 spot on this crap, The indians would put a 9 spot on this. The aenmic Oakland offense torched them for 17 runs, and no they are looking like Cy Young again. Well, hopefully after this year, Ozzie will pull a Tubby Smith and quit after being told he has to fire an assistant.

QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:20 AM) Look at the replay of that 3-2 pitch, the catcher caught it just above the dirt. Talk about a joke. That's one of the dumbest comments in the history of this board.

Anyone else realize our 7-8 hitters are batting 2-3 this year. And now, Greinke can go another inning.

QUOTE(BMac Attack @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:16 AM) hahahaha Hawk on Erstad: "We knew he was good, he's better than we thought he was." The scary thing is they were saying this when he was batting .125. I can't wait to see him in the lineup against a LHP tomorrow. That .400 OPS is overrated. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:18 AM) I've seen enough of Boone against lefties to trust him. Once he got a strike on Teahan I felt good. That's a major change from me thinking he was almost as good as automatic runs for the other team. It's all about control.

At least 6 straight strikes for Logan!

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:12 AM) Masset still in the 90-93 MPH range on his FB. If I ever hear another word about someone looking good in the Winter League/Arizona Fall League, I'll punch someone.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:08 AM) Nick is getting squeezed like an orange. He'll be fine....he has similar stuff to Jenks (you know, besides good velocity and a sharp offspeed pitch).

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:08 AM) Nick is getting squeezed like an orange. Were you watching last night on a liner hit to center where Hawk went nuts about how great a read Erstad got on the play, and he ended up almost having to make a basket catch in front of him due to over running it?

Aardsma's warming up now? GMAFB

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:05 AM) Mop-Up Masset is in. Ozzie always does this s***....if we're losing by 1 run late in the game, it's like he gives up with who he brings in from the pen.

Why did we bring in our worst reliever?

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:01 AM) Wow. I am actually going to cry when Sweeney is sent down. Did you see his foul off of that 2-2 pitch? He won't get sent down. If for some fluke reason he is, I'm sure there'll be another injury shortly that would get him back up. I might as well turn the channel when Dye, Iguchi, and Crede are up. At least with PK, I hope they might show a replay of his 2005 WS grand slam or something. Ugh, where's Aardsma?

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/12/07 (W)
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 13, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) Do we have any second basemen in our minors that can hit and field? No, the offensive prospects in our minor league system have to be one of the 5 worst in all of baseball. Years of not developing offensive talent has finally caught up to us.

That kid is great at taking pitches.
