  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:44 PM) I really hate cavernous ballparks. Didn't we win last night cause of it? Polanco's ball was crushed in the 9th.
  2. Can someone quickly compile the amount of hits we've had each game against the starting LHP? I wasn't being sarcastic when I asked earlier if we'd top 5 hits today vs Robertson. I hate saying this cause it sounds like Hawk/DJ, but I'm grateful we have the record we do right now. I still have no faith in our offense, but thankfully our bullpen has won us quite a few games lately.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:37 PM) Wouldn't it be some crazy s*** if we got no-hit a couple days after throwing one ourselves? If it results in some changes made to this lefty lineup, I'd be all for it.
  4. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) im not even going to bother watching this game on the big screen... I'd rather watch it on the little screen by my computer and b**** to you guys about it Contreras is really gonna get rocked if he keeps throwing that 91 mph fastball right down the middle. Lucky there isn't runners at the corners right now. He has been hit HARD twic in a row now. That fastball is a big concern. Not only has he lost his velocity, he's lost all the moment that came with the arm angles. Another thing that happens when your velocity is down is that hitters can be a little more patient on that forkball. Basically, if he can't get his fastball up to 94 mph again, he's not going to have an ERA below 5.
  5. QUOTE(Shadows @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) Whats your point? vs anyone this year were batting a collective like .219 anyways I dont think it mattered if they were LH or RH we cant hit right now regardless At least we have an actual catcher who could hit over .220 in AA in the lineup then.
  6. QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) the easiest out to get in baseball is the one after a grand slam I thought it's whoever is playing CF for the White Sox?
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) LOL. This place is too much. A bit sensitive today? I can't blame you, with Singletary going pro and all.
  8. Funny how far Contreras has fallen from this point last year to right now. He's easily our worst starting pitcher.
  9. Looks like Contreras has his opening day stuff....gotta keep the damage to a minimum.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) Are you having a rough day today? You are particularly whiny today. Huh? Until our offense starts hitting LHP, I'll keep stating that our lefty lineup is a joke. What else did I whine about?
  11. I hate having 4 mediocre to terrible hitters against LHP in the lineup at once.
  12. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) the rangers and braves look like good fits. The Marlins have nothing in CF. Also, will we get more than 5 hits vs this lefty today?
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 05:05 PM) While his value is at an all time low, he doesn't have much time left here. After what has come out in the media the last week, I will be surprised if Anderson is in the Sox organization by August. I notice a lot of scenarios that have been discussed by KW/Ozzie in the last week that imply Anderson will be heading back down once Pods gets back.
  14. The Tribune this morning stated Anderson would be starting today. He really is worthless on this roster.
  15. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) BA is starting? Good to hear. I was thinking that Ozzie would stick Pablo out there and continue to sit Anderson for whatever reason. Here's hoping he has a good game. Should be Ozuna/Anderson/Dye in the outfield today.
  16. QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Erstad is staring in center today. Unreal....I thought Anderson was supposed to be starting today?
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) May I toss another log on the Ozzie fire. If you compare team photos from 2005 and 2007 you will probably notice some new faces. We do know that Ozzie could manage that 2005 team to a WS win. We don't know if he can manage the 2007 team to anything. It's the whole package. A manager might be great with one group of players and God awful with another. And they may be wearing the same color uniforms. So for the love of exploding scoreboards, drop the '05 comparisons. Great post.....Ozzie's smallball approach was much better for a team that had Carl Everett as their DH compared to having Jim Thome as their DH.
  18. Anderson will be playing today.
  19. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 02:02 AM) Never knew Granderson went to UIC. I faced him all the time in high school. He was good, but he didn't stand out at all.
  20. Oh boy....better watch these 94 mph fastballs to Sheffield.
  21. Iguchi's never been good on those pop ups....good thing he used two hands.
  22. Gotta hope that run doesn't haunt us.
  23. Oh man....Uribe has struggled at times in that situation.
  24. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 01:51 AM) I've luckily never broken anything, I usually just slam the remote on the bed in anger. Never broken anything? I wish I could start a broken remote museum with descriptions of what happened to cause each one. Thankfully, I've matured just a little, and have only broken one in last 5 years.
