  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) Uribe's play imo has to be number 1 because of the situation, taking that into consideration that's easily the best web gem in this teams history, at least imo. I'm also of the opinion that Iguchi's play is pretty damn overrated. It was one of the best throws you'll ever see, however he brought that on himself because he tripped over his own feet. If he doesnt trip then it's a pretty routine play with Molina running. I couldn't have said it better myself. Uribe's play is the best defensive play in franchise history. I wonder if ESPN will then do the top 3 home runs in franchise history?
  2. I'm thinking that the Yankees not going with the shift might have made Thome more pull-cautious. He saw that he had more of an opening on the right side, and he was getting way out in front of everything. He's so much more dangerous when he's hitting the ball from left center to center.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) 11-0 That's a pretty good record Curt.
  4. Rowand and I so called that in the game thread.
  5. It took forever, and it wasn't pretty, but that's 4 straight series wins now! Congrats to Javy for win #100.
  6. YES! FINALLY! EVEN THE LAST GROUNDER TOOK FOREVER.
  7. Wow...he would have had him easily at 2nd base.
  8. Crede...what are you doing? That would have been a routine play for Cintron.
  9. We knew it wouldn't be easy. Use the hook Jenks!
  10. It's too bad Torre's not letting Wilson hit. He would have no chance against Jenks. Jenks has to keep the ball up on Bernie. He's a great low ball hitter.
  11. Posada was sitting on the fastball. Good think Jenks had a lot of velocity on it.
  12. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:49 AM) I liked how we handled Proctor. Just think, Garcia's fastball 5 years ago used to be in the same mph range as Proctor.
  13. Watch the first pitch fastball to Posada.
  14. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:47 AM) stupid proctor stupid Schoeneweis.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:46 AM) My point was moreso.....Jeter in 2004 had an 0 for 37 slump, and the fans in NY STILL loved him. Can you imagine what they'd do to A-Rod if he had that kind of slump? Trade him for Loaiza.
  16. Proctor's fastball seems like it's 110 mph.
  17. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:43 AM) Thats partially true.... but the two teams he has left both got better in the season after he departed. Yeah, but didn't the Mariners add Ichiro when he left? Also, he was amazing with Texas. It was just that they had no pitching.
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:41 AM) That comes with makin' 25 million a year. Of course. Don't get me wrong, he deserves some criticism. In some ways, I feel bad for him. He's going to end up being one of the best players in baseball history, and he plays in front of fans that hate him. It's like if Pods had to play in front of me and tito and milkman every game.
  19. ROUTINE! Did Hawk say "that's gone"?
  20. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:40 AM) For being a superstar, Alex rodriguez seems mentally weak For being a superstar, ARod seems to be criticized far too much.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:39 AM) DON'T SPEED UP HIS BAT! Like I said, good pitch.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:38 AM) ARod v Thorton.... this match up scares me. He has to get that fastball up.
  23. Holy cow...where was that first pitch to ARod?
  24. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:35 AM) or... you know... if he's not an option tonight for Torre, thats a victory Proctor coming in that inning makes me think that he's available.
