  1. Talk about a game where it feels like the Yankees handed us a lead, and now we have to do everything in our power to prevent them from taking the lead back. Usually, that doesn't end up well for the team trying to hold on. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:38 AM) That much more money pumped into the team. Yep! It's the one sport where you really want bandwagon fans.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:34 AM) Javy: 111 pitches, 5 IP, 6 hits, 2 runs, 6 walks, 8 k's. Greg Maddux-like efficiency tonight. It really is a carbon copy of the Indians start you mentioned.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:32 AM) He has been hitting the ball well ever since being re-called up. Next season if they call up both their top hitting prospects and if Sweeney ever stays healthy they can be a pretty tough lineup. Gordon I think is the type of talent that contributes right away and the other guy cant remember his name sucks on defense but rocks with the bat. It's too bad for them they didn't agree to the Sweeney for Rios trade. The other prospect you're thinking of is Butler.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:31 AM) He needs to go 5 so he can be eligible for the win. Ozzie wants his starters to be winners. Yes, but every manager in baseball would have let him start that inning.
  5. Well done Javy! There's not a chance in hell he should start the 6th inning.
  6. This should be Vazquez's last batter of the game.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:30 AM) So....Javy seems to improve on pitches 100-150 these days.... Well done.
  8. This umpire refuses to call anything on the outside corner for Vazquez.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:22 AM) I think Jim killed all the grass on the right side of the infield these last couple at bats. Poop. You mean the Willie Harris Memorial Grass? He sure had that weak grounder to 2nd base down pat.
  10. I wonder if he's getting pull cautious due to the Yanks not putting on the big shift.
  11. Good grief Thome...stay back and look the opposite way. It's a good thing the Yankees handed us some runs, as our offense looks shaky again tonight.
  12. Thome needs to flip that curve over the LF fence.
  13. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) You guys noticing that Hawk and D.J. don't say anything when a replay of a pitch is shown? Maybe they heard the criticism of their constant whining. Or maybe the Sox are winning. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) that could have been gone based on what giambi's looked like off of the bat Yeah, but Giambi went off the juice last year, Pods went off of it after 2004.
  14. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:16 AM) man, anderson is horrible at the plate It's really amazing how little of an impact he's had on our offense this year.
  15. That pitch had the entire plate. Great pitch recognition Brian.
  16. So, if Anderson turns in to Mr. April/May again, what are we going to do?
  17. If you think Vazquez won't start the 5th, then you don't know Ozzie.
  18. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:13 AM) That was a Haeger-esque performance. Walking three and allowing none. Haeger would throw 100 pitches in 2 innings vs this Yanks team.
  19. For everyone wanting Cotts, I offer this suggestion. Against a guy with a great eye like Giambi, Cotts is either a walk, HBP, or homer waiting to happen.
  20. He nutted up and made a nice pitch. Ozzie will keep him out there to start the 5th.
  21. Good grief, he's begging to give up this lead.
  22. What a pathetic performance by Vazquez. He's scared of the bat. If he gives up a homer here, these fans better boo his ass off the field.
  23. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:10 AM) THAT one looked like strike. It was low.
  24. A better pitch, but just a great eye by these Yankees hitters.
  25. Holy cow, is he ever making a lot of mistakes with his fastball tonight.
