Oh boy...here we go again. Whenever Cotts wants to learn another pitch besides his fastball, it will be fine with me.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) Podsednik is not 100%, not anywhere close to it, and I wish the White Sox would fess up about it. He is hurting as much as helping. Put him on the 15 day DL and get Brady Clark in here before the deadline. Are we sure it's an injury, or just he's lost two steps? I have my theories about it, but I definitely agree he is hurting this team right now.

Pods with one of the worst games I've seen from an individual in a long time. I honestly think Gload and Mackowiak are faster than he is.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:13 PM) Wow. That wasn't even fishing close. I mean, that looked like a Uribe SB attempt. Or a PK attempt. He literally wasn't in the pitcher when the guy caught the ball at 2nd.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) It was a hit and run reviewing the tivo. He wouldnt of got back anyway. Gotcha...that's fine then. I like the call by Ozzie. Are you serious Pods? Can we please just bench him. Put Mackowiak in for defensive reasons.

QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) I don't think I've seen a World Series Champions trophy during Manuel's era. We weren't arguing that though. Ozzie did a great job motivating the team all season. When you have guys have amazing years like Cotts, Politte, and Hermanson, it's a lot easier to manage your team combined with the starting pitching we received.
-
Great catch by Patterson there. Uribe shouldn't be getting doubled off though with no outs.
-
QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) And that's one of the reasons why he won Manager Of The Year in 2005. Didn't Jerry Manuel win Manager of the Year?

QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) on gameday it shows the ball on the wall, how close was it.....mlb extra innings aint giving me love today Very close. Hernandez thought it was gone, fathom thought it was gone, and the way Anderson sprinted back at first, I think he thought it was gone.
-
I'm very grateful to still have a 3 run lead after that inning.
-
Holy cow, that was close.
-
Time to pull McCarthy. He's been given the chance to work out of his jam, and he hasn't been able to.
-
These fastballs are extremely hittable, especially a pull hitter like Millar.

QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Knowing you too well Fathom. You just have to have Ozzie in every blame! Yes, he should have never allowed Garland to start this inning. I don't know anyone who thought Garland should have started this inning.
-
QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) So when he was pitching good in relief, I didn't hear you saying this. You were just raving how good BMAC is, but when he is terrible, oh because he needs to have a good feel for his pitches. Come on! BMAC is a good pitcher, but no way he is great. I've said from day one I don't want him in the bullpen. This was even more evident after he said he doesn't like the feel he gets on his pitches when he's out there. All I know is that his 92 mph fastball down the plate is meat right now.
-
Nothing like throwing two fastballs past a hitter, and then speeding up his bat. I really hope KW knows what he's doing by putting this much faith in McCarthy.
-
QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Come on! Stop blaming this on Ozzie. BMAC is overrated by a lot of people on this site! There goes trade value! The blames goes to Garland/McCarthy/Ozzie this inning.
-
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) please, no posts about bmac being a better starter than he is a reliever Why, it makes a lot of sense? He's a finesse pitcher, and it's very hard to have a good feel for your pitches coming right out of the bullpen. If we weren't going to start him this year, he should have been in AAA making a lot of starts.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) As well as he should. It's Bmac's job to not allow those runners to score. In the situation he came in, it would have been fine if he only allowed the 2 inherited runners. Now, we have ourselves a tight game. I really would like to know why Ozzie is so set on having his starters begin an inning that he likely has no intention of keeping them in for the whole inning?
-
It's 11-8 now. Great to see some urgency by Ozzie.
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) That's just pods being pods. He plays defense like he hits like Manny Ramirez, and he hits like he's Darren Lewis. And it's 11-6 now. Terrible managing this inning.
-
Stop playing so deep Pods, and you might be able to make a good catch once in a while. I have no clue why Garland started this inning. You pull him after 5 innings, and he has confidence from getting out of the jam like he did.
-
What a terrible player. OZZIE...get Garland out of the game.
-
I'm surprised Garland is still on the mound. This is one of those instances where pulling him after 5 might help his arm down the road.
-
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) somebody has to tell me why crede is hitting so many pop ups...is it the upper cut swing? He's not swinging very aggressive. It's almost like he's taking his 2 strike approach swing on every pitch he sees.
