  1. A 3 week bad stretch, and you want to get rid of him? He's not going anywhere.
  2. Why do people think we'd get more for Fields than just Linebrink?
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) The Red Sox already have a catcher that can catch knuckleballs. Just saying...wishing mostly. A Garcia for Crisp trade would be one of my favorite transactions ever by the White Sox.
  4. 3 different spellings of his name in this tread, and not one is right. It's MacDougal.
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) Amen. It only took 22 posts for someone to figure this out: "I wouldn't want to trade anyone to the Red Sox. Not when you consider that the Sox might see them in the post-season." If we traded Garcia for him, I would be more than happy to have to face him in the postseason.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) I wouldnt give up any of those players alone for Soriano... well maybe Lacky but none of the others. Lackey might be the best of the bunch. He's one of 4 pitchers in baseball to have under a 3 ERA from last year's ASB to this year's ASB.
  7. Fields has been working out in the outfield recently, FWIW.
  8. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 05:17 AM) That would make the Sox pen 7 deep, and I think would be the precursor to another move. If it allowed us to do Garcia for Crisp, I'd be for it then.
  9. I fear in the next few days I'll come on this site, and see "The Score reports the White Sox have traded Josh Fields for Scott Linebrink".
  10. If they offered Crisp for Garcia or Vaz, you do that deal in a second. Crisp is a very tough out, and he'd add a lot of speed to our team.
  11. The only reason I'd be interested in Tejada is that he has 3 years left on his deal at a reasonable price. However, I haven't heard any rumors about the Sox being interested, so it's likely a long shot.
  12. I'm a little nervous in this thread....it's 3 admins and a mod.
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:26 AM) But they shouldn't give in to Bowden's demands. It's not like they desperately need him anyways, with the way they're playing. My brother talked to a lot of scouts today, and they don't think Sanchez is nearly as good of a prospect as he's being made out to be.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) If I dealt McCarthy I want at least one pitcher coming back. So I'd do it if we moved Uribe and McCarthy and got Cabrera back. Otherwise no deal. Looking at the deals being discussed, I'm not so sure that McCarthy and Uribe would be enough. McCarthy doesn't have the same value as E. Santana. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) Probably beneficial for both parties if he was moved I would say. Oh yeah....I was kinda hoping KW would take a shot at him, but I'm sure the price is too high.
  15. If you're going to trade McCarthy, Tejada's one of the few guys who I would consider it. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:23 AM) The Angels offer >>> Ensberg, Everett and a pitching prospect. Santana is more proven than any prospect and Aybar is a heck of a prospect in his own right. If I'm the Angels, I'm giving up two more good prospects as opposed to Santana because I don't think they can afford to give him up. Rumors that Lidge would be in the trade.
  16. I still we be very surprised if Soriano's not traded for H. Sanchez and another prospect.
  17. Didn't he say the Sox were trying to get Dmitri Young last year? He's very well connected, and his information seems a little more "insider" than some of the ESPN guys.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) I've been a Gload guy for a few years now and I just wish there was a way for him to play more, but its so tough to find any spots for him. He's just a good fundemental hitter and the players like him in the clubhouse. I remember this spring when he made a great catch in Milwaulkee's facility in Maryville and was helped off the field only to be back the following day after what looked like a horrible injury. This was in the midst of all the speculation of whether he'd make the club or not. That next game was a game against the Royals and he was in the game and word came out that the Sox had just traded for Thornton, which essentially assured Ross a roster spot. As someone who's long said he should be replaced on the roster, I want to give him credit for the huge hit tonight. I actually like Gload's skills....but he just doesn't fit what this team needs as a 25th man. With the September call-ups fast approaching, his role on the team will be better. He's one of the few guys on the team who can spray the ball around the field from line to line.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) I also want to give Ozz credit for bringing in two lefties and pulling the right strings late in this game. Without Pods and Mack we don't have Gload up in that situation. Yep, he managed very well the last few innings of this game. He handled the bullpen subs perfectly (after taking Garcia out one batter too late). I'm not sure what Ray's numbers state, but it would seem like lefties see the ball better off of him.
  20. Huge win! Our benchers really stepped up in the 9th inning.
  21. YAY! Great win. Not only that, the Orioles pitching matchups the rest of the wknd really favor us.
  22. Jim...I was thinking this before the top of the 9th, but I give Ozzie credit for how he handled the bullpen AFTER he pulled Garcia. You're right, MacDougal gives us a lot more options than Politte did.
  23. I know I'm negative by nature, but was I the only one worried Terrero would rob that?
