  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) I dont think I ever want to see Podsenick an a RBI situation unless we are facing the astros... The poor Astros...they probably think of him the way we do Sweeney.
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) They drafted a guy in the first round, I think it was last year, and didn't even get him signed. Adam Loewen I want to say. That's just wasting opportunities and good organizations don't do that. With Boston and NYY and Toronto in that division, they can't make many personnel mistakes. They signed Loewen. He's made some starts in the majors this year.
  3. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) Harrelson called it on the 3-1 pitch, he said "Here it comes #15". Iguchi really smoked that one. He's been hitting the ball very hard to the opposite field lately. For as much as some of us complain about our hitters approach recently, that inning had a lot of fantastic ABs (besides Pods, of course). Hawk always talks about going to the plate with the mindset that the pitcher is in trouble. Honestly, the only one who's seemed defeated at the plate so far was Pods. Everyone else waited for their pitch.
  4. Get us back in the dugout Garland, and let us continue to circle the bases.
  5. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) I still have nightmares of that game in Arizona where we had a rally in the 9th and for the 3rd out, Jiminez was tagged out at 2nd, trying to advance on a play he never should have. He might have had the worst instincts on the bases I've ever seen.
  6. YES!!! Huge runs there, as we capitalize on this awful pitcher.
  7. If he walks here, will we see Thome vs Ortiz with bases loaded again?
  8. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) how quickly we forget Royce Clayton and D'Angelo Jimenez Jimenez wasn't a bad hitter at all. Come on, he had a great walkoff single against the Cubs. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) Pods is really making his presence felt today. He's the only reason the Orioles have a chance in this game.
  9. Pathetic AB by Pods. He's on pace for one of the worst games ever. This pitcher is making him look like an A ball player (what his tools state he should be).
  10. Impressive swing by Anderson! Get the runner in Pods!!
  11. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) Let's knock them out of the game right here! Lets get enough runs to have a comfortable lead before they pull him.
  12. How about one of those 3 run homers that Uribe started to hit prior to the ASB?
  13. Yanks trail 10-4....that game's far from over though.
  14. Lets keep adding on some more. Crede has that uppercut swing down now....good situation for him to be up.
  15. Very nice AJP! We've had 9 guys reach so far, and only 6 outs have been made.
  16. Here we go again. Gotta start getting these runs in. If there's one thing AJP has been good at lately, it's rolling over on the ball to the right side.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:28 PM) This rook has one pitch that he can throw for a strike. All that Mazzone is having him do, is pitch away from contact and go low and away. A few of our hitters last inning figure that out and didnt do too much with it. If its in, pull it. If its away hit it up the middle or oppo. Eventually this kid will miss location over the middle of the plate and get rocked. We just need our hitters to make better decisions than Pods did in the last inning. 2-0 with a pitcher that is all over the plate, and mighty mouse decides to swing. vomits Gload made it look so easy when he just served the low sinker to left field. QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) congrats Minny and Detroit, with that inning we officially conceded the AL central and WC spot, not being able to get a sac fly or hit with men in easy position seems unending, and I think the mental rut this team is in may not be overcome this season, they simply expect to fail in those situations Wow
  18. JimH....at what point does the organization try someone else in LF? The sad thing is that Mackowiak is a bigger threat on the bases than Pods has become.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Gload has more range than Kong at 1B, but Kong is much softer hands than Gload. Everyone on the team says Gload is this Gold Glove caliber 1st baseman, but I've yet to see it.
  20. Our left side of the infield = overrated on defense. These guys can't throw with any velocity over to first base now.
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) It's Bizzaro Pods. He is striking out looking and getting picked off since he came to the Sox. Fixed QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) I have seen some bad and dumb at bats in my life, but that decision by Podsednik to swing 2-0 in that situation is right at the top of the list. Really dumb. Well said! Even if you take a strike, you still don't have to worry about eventually striking out.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Why is Pods on our team again. He doesnt do anything at all for this team. Because what jersey would all the fat girls wear to the games then?
