  1. QUOTE(soxunited @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) 8-3 Tigers the saga continues. . . Um....that's good news!
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) Get tossed, OZZIE!!! This ump didn't lose the game for us, but he was still brutal! Man, the conspiracy by the umps this year is getting really annoying.
  3. That Brian Anderson CONTINUES to really contribute to this offense.
  4. Sandy walks? That happens about once every decade. Buehrle's ERA is now 4.89.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Buerhle needed to be yanked after the walk. But Ozzie leaves him in for 3 or 4 more to reach base. It really is unbelievable. There are a ton of Little League managers that would have known better. I really find it hard to believe how anyone can stick up for his managing this season. He's managing this year like he did last year...the only problem is that our starting pitchers aren't performing the way they did last year, and Ozzie is the last person to figure this out.
  6. QUOTE(PA32R @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Sure. What could you possibly get for him? A lot
  7. QUOTE(rafacosta @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) HE sbhould have been pulled out when he was about to face Quinlan who had a HR earlier in the game... And hits .350 vs LHP.
  8. For those that can't watch the Sox broadcast....what's Hawk saying about all of this?
  9. Our starters seem to give up 5 earned runs or more about every other game.
  10. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) what a meltdown by Buehrle. I thought he had more to him than that. A balk? Maybe if our manager would pull him before the meltdown could occur, it would help us out a lot!
  11. This also makes KW look like an idiot for saying how crucial the MacDougal acquisition was.
  12. You're not going to see a poorer managed inning than this inning. I never knew a manager who was more concerned with his starting pitchers getting the win than his team getting the win.
  13. Our manager is an absolute idiot.
  14. I love how Ozzie lets Buehrle face Quinlan, someone who's had a lot of success against him in the past and hits about .350 vs LHP and .250 vs RHP.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) i still don't know how to feel...logic says I should cheer for the tigers. but I still have solid food in my stomach. The Tigers are a team of destiny right now....we'd be better off if they beat all of our WC rivals the rest of the way.
  16. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) Not at all just surprised that a fundamentally sound team like Minny had some bad baserunning Ok, just making sure.
  17. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) Twins crap themselves and get nothing out of a good situation Tigers 4 Twins 3 BOT 7th You seem disappointed by this?
  18. I miss Juan Uribe....there, I said it.
  19. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) Lose 3-7 mph on a fastball and even Liriano looks hittable. With the lost in velocity also comes less tilt on slider. Less variance on a changeup. Instead of people teasing you about this, they should be optimistic. If Liriano has some lingering elbow problems, it greatly enhances our WC chances.
  20. How does Nick Punto have a .400 OBP? It's amazing how consistent the Twins offense is at putting up a lot of hits every day now. Morneau's been the MVP of the AL over the last two months.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) I really can't believe you actually want him. At least he would help our offense against LHP. I'm not as big of a Javy Lopez fan as many on here, but he's definitely an upgrade over Alomar/Widger.
  22. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) this game just has that "look" the post all star game where has my team gone to "look" It's just too damn bad that we didn't add someone to this roster to give us a spark.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) At what point in the game should our hitters and our coaching staff recognize that Escobar is pretty much going away away away on our hitters, especially our right handers. He is living and dying on the outside corner and we are gong up there looking like we are shocked to see a slider away. When Buerhle or any of our hitters do it, we get killed because the other team adjusts and attacks to what they are giving them. How about this....the Angels are playing good baseball right now, and the White Sox aren't. We better start playing better baseball, or this week is going to really suck.
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) Sandy is really affecting Buerhle's performance. I'm glad they found the reason for his struggles, and its even better news it wasn't Buerhle at all, just the guy putting down the numbers. But at least we let the best possible back-up go to our WC rival for virtually nothing.
