QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) Anyone wanna place bets on a WP here? My worry is a tough play for Ozuna.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) IBB to Sarge Jr. A talented kid in Kinsler will be up. I would have liked to see us go after GM Jr., but with Thornton on the mound. I don't think Mathews Jr. can catch up to his high heat. Kinsler is a hitter who seems to put a good swing on every pitch he sees.

Oh boy...leaving him in.

Mathews Jr. hits .333 vs RHP, and .297 vs LHP. I want to see Thornton in to face him.

This should be Garcia's last batter of the game. We need a K.

QUOTE(valponick @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) Disgusting by Juan. That was a very tough hop to handle. That type of play can decide this game.

Bad throw by Anderson. Another example of our horrific outfield throwing this season.

QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) What the hell is Mench complaining about? He struck out, its his fault. Also, I thought that complaining about balls and strikes gets an ejection. I could be wrong though. He's complaining about the first pitch of the AB, which WGN didn't show. Since when did WCIU turn into WGN?

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) And JD is hitting .385 since the break... Exactly...it's very telling that he has no RBI, and he's been hitting that well. A definite sign of a slump.

AJP just looks awful. In a telling stat for our offense, Dye has no RBI in the 2nd half of the season so far.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) Good job Freddy! I have high hopes for this inning. And who says I'm not optimistic. Good job PK!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) Hell, just look what a bunt did to Buehrle's game. Kinsler or whomever it was had a little squibber and all of a sudden there were two on in that first inning and the rest is history. Are you referring to Laird's bunt last night? A big difference was that there were no outs when he did it. Even if he would have been out, his team would have had two chances with RISP. Instead, when Anderson made the out, it put Ozuna in a situation where he had to knock the runner in with 2 outs. I don't mind the Anderson bunt as much as I did the Ozuna bunt though, at least he was trying to spark the team.

Please hold them this inning Freddy.

QUOTE(soxunited @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) That really was the worst bunt I have seen in a long time He kept it fair...that automatically makes it one of the top 10 bunts by the Sox all years.

Sox v. Rangers, Gamethread
Great....2 outs made by bunts, with 1 out, tonight!!! That's smart baseball.
-
Sox v. Rangers, Gamethread
Blah. We're not squaring up these pitches at all.

Could have been much worse.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) You never know what could happen, if other teams are involved, maybe a starting pitcher comes our way with one of our starters going there way. Have you heard of any reasoning behind Fields not playing?

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:23 AM) Ya no spiff, probably would get a SP prospect back though. I highly doubt we'd get another player. I'm worried we'd give up another prospect besides Fields.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) obviously, the solution is to trade for a different 2B to play LF. Come on....Ozuna is an absolutely awful LF. Soriano has made a pretty smooth transition to LF, and he plays in a very deep park. He'd be able to play more shallow at the Cell, and his arm could prevent quite a few runs from scoring. As Sox fans, we'd really hate Brad Wilkerson if he was ever on our team. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) Freddy comes back and gets the K. He threw two good Fb's and than had a real nice changeup to get Wilkerson swinging. He's had a good changeup tonight. His curve has been brutal this inning.
