White Sox versus that other team in town
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 19, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Does anyone know AJ's average with RISP? Honest question. I do know that it seems like he's struggled with RISP this season.

Don't want to be walking guys before the Barrett/Aramis combo.

QUOTE(LoFiStew @ May 19, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) Is it just me or does it seem like the Sox have had an inordinate amount of line-drive outs the last few games? That inning could have been huge if Ramirez doesn't snag those two liners. As jphat accurately says, that's a symptom of a slump.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 19, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) we Cedeno, Blanco and Perez coming up. Watch out. You do know that Blanco has crushed Buehrle before? Also, Cedeno is the Pablo Ozuna of the NL. He gets more weird, chop singles than anyone I've seen in a long time.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 19, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Maddux won't be long for this game unless he settles down. We are working the count and hitting him hard. We destroyed him at the Cell the first time through the lineup, and I don't know if we got a hit the rest of the way. So far, it seems like guys have the perfect approach.

Can't see the game, but it's promising to see that yahoo says we've hit 3 balls the opposite way so far today.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 19, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Our offense has looked sheety, come on So you mean everyone's not going to hit over .300 all season?

Over/under on caught stealings vs Blanco?

White Sox versus that other team in town
I would have never thought the day would come where we have a massive problem fielding bunts. Dating back to the Vazquez debacle at Minnesota, we've had some real bad fielding on bunts.

What happened? Can someone please give a description....and can someone please wake this team up.

QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ May 19, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Nice lineup. Glad to see Cintron starting over Uribe. What? You don't think Uribe would be able to handle Maddux's offspeed stuff? If I remember correctly, Uribe has had some pathetic ABs vs Maddux in the past.

Anyone Know How Many Walkoff HR's Crede Has?
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:49 AM) Ah, okayokay. Are you a Chipper Jones fan, then, or was that just a coincidence that you knew his number offhand? (Perhaps you heard it on the broadcast?) Heard it on ESPN

I do know that Chipper has 7 career walkoff homers.

Before every1 goes crazy.....
Why does everyone think Detroit sucks? They have a very, very good offense, a strong 5 man rotation, and some good arms in the bullpen. How can you say the Tigers are playing out of their minds, when we're the team with about 5 guys hitting well above their career averages? Outside of Shelton, no one has really hit above their norms for the Tigers so far.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:17 AM) Anderson is a rookie. Uribe is a vet. There is no reason that he should be hitting as s***ty as he has. Everyday Farmer asks him what is he going to do today, and Uribe says Profundo. Which Farmer says is hit a homer. Everyday he tells Farmer he is going to hit a homer, and then he corkscrews himself into the dirt in the batters box trying to make his prediction come true. Maybe someone should tell Uribe to get a f***ing hit and stop trying to be Tejada. I remember how some people were saying there was no chance they'd want to let go of Uribe if he was included in a trade for Tejada this offseason.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:14 AM) I didn't really "make it". Losing this year is just more frustrating because of unreal expectations. Punching chairs is weak s*** now. I am going to rip out my chair and throw it at you in section 130 Actually, I find it much easier to take a loss this year than last season. There's really no comparison between the emotions involved with games last season, and the games this year.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:11 AM) If we lose tomorrow I might just jump into a lake. If we lose, at least it will likely be quick.

You know a great way to get better bullpen performances? That's right, get better starting pitching. QUOTE(sircaffey @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) At least the Cubs don't have a huge LH threat. That relieves some stress...some. I'm sure J. Jones will be up in a crucial situation...he always is vs the Sox.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) Boone better be the f*** off the team and in some minor league area before we square off this weekend. Remember if he is in the pen, Ozzie may use him. Unless Vazquez or Garcia are on the mound. In all seriousness, I don't think he's being sent down. If it was going to happen, it would have been a few days ago.
