Man...he looks like a f***ing pitcher at the plate.
-
Dye swinging through an 88 mph fastball. I can't believe that Anderson is hitting here. Why not let Cintron bat, and then have Crede/Dye hit?
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:24 AM) He did the same junk last year as well. It's frusterating as all hell during that game but his s*** works as annoying as it can be. Yep....in all honesty, I'm more disappointed that he let Garland face one of his main nemesis.
-
This ump's lost control of his strike zone.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:23 AM) No it's not. Think about it this way, you rest 0 guys, you win like 54% of your games. You rest 1 guy, you win 50%. You rest 2 guys, it's like 48%. You rest 3 guys, it's like 46%. The biggest difference comes when you take your first starter out. If you're going to rest people, on average, you win more games when you do rest them in bulk than when you rest them individually. I understand that statistic, and I applaud whoever took the time to figure it out. However, there's some things that stats can't tell....like how well guys are hitting at the plate. Dye and Crede have been just as important as anyone on our team besides Thome this season.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:20 AM) There's no way Mackowiak is hitting if Guardado is in. There shouldn't be anyway Anderson hits unless the leadoff man homers even if I was pitching. That should state there's no way Mackowiak is hitting if a lefty is on the mound...but we know that's not true.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:19 AM) I hated these lineups last year but we definitely seemed to have the most fresh time come postseason. So maybe JUST MAYBE Ozzie knows a bit more then we do. Maybe. When your team is absolutely on fire like we were, I hate the idea of sitting 3 of your hottest players in one game. If they would have sat Crede tonight, Dye tomorrow, and Pods on Wednesday....that's fine. Ozzie knew that Seattle wasn't putting up a lot of runs. This was a game where if we can get 4 or 5 runs, we should win.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:18 AM) Ozzie you suck, blah blah blah, Sunday lineup, blah blah blah, stupid moves, blah blah blah, lucky Manager of the year. Hmm. I wonder if I missed anything? :headshake You can be Manager of the Year, and still manage a bad game from time to time. People were saying the lineup sucked an hour before the game.
-
I'm going to be pissed if Mackowiak and Anderson hit in the 9th.
-
We have three lefties in our bullpen....why? If you can't bring one in to start the 8th inning against someone who DESTROYS Garland, then what's the point of having them on the roster.
-
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:15 AM) oops f***ing west coast f***ing playing like it's a Sunday game. This Mariners team is playing like s*** right now, and we played right into their hands by not going with our best offensive squad.
-
That was predictable. Why allow Garland to start this inning? Just a horribly managed game by Ozzie tonight.
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:12 AM) When fathom asks for Pods to be put into the game, you know something is wrong. Well, if he can't steal 2nd base in that situation, he's not even a AAA caliber player.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:12 AM) Because he'll get thrown out again Nothing like having no confidence that your speedster can't steal against a fire throwing middle reliever.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:11 AM) Because AJP > Widger at the plate and in the field. Who cares...you can't just play for the home run.
-
Why not have Pods run for AJP, and try to get into scoring position?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:10 AM) AJP's either going to homer or K. Or get a single
-
AJP's either going to homer or K.

We're going to need a home run to win this game....and our guys are sure swinging for the fences.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:05 AM) We actually looked at this a bit last year. When teams play their full starting lineup, they have a positive winning percentage on average. When they pull the first starter, it drops by a couple percent, but then for every starter you take out after that, the difference between the winning percentages is less. But how about the fact that there will be subs in other games in this series? I'm sure Widger will play on Wednesday night.
-
Do we have like one hit in the last 4 innings?
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:01 AM) I think we actually have a better chance at winning more games if we bench 3 guys in 1 game than if we bench 1 guy in each of 3 games. Really? Our lineup tonight is weak, no doubt about it. If you have 8 of your normal starters, and one bencher in the lineup, you still have your main lineup in the game.
-
QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:00 AM) pablo have trouble with thst ball? Nope, he played it well.
-
With the way we had Ichiro defended, you can't go slow/low in that situation. He had almost the entire left side of the infield to hit it through. Our lack of hitting tonight put us in a dog fight. Please Ozzie....no matter if we win or lose, no more games where we bench 3 starters.
-
That's a play Uribe usually comes up with. Going to be a tough inning for Garland with Ichiro on-deck.
