  1. I always remembered hearing that ARod was upset with the way the White Sox wanted to handle his negotiations, so they were basically ruled out from the start.
  2. QUOTE(LDF @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) can you name the last 2 time we ever had a good off coord? practually this whole season has been save b/c of the "D" I don't put the blame on Turner at all. I think Orton is one of the worst starting quarterbacks that I've seen, and there's not an offensive coordinator alive that can make the Bears a high powered offense with him at QB.
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) When is this team going to start waking the f*** up on offense and stop putting the whole game on the defense's shoulders? When the best quarterback on the roster gets healthy enough to play.
  4. We're lucky to even be in this game right now. Our defense, especially Brown and Urlacher, are struggling today.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) We still think Kyle Orton is going to develop into a great NFL QB. Despite our great offensive line and running game he is still unable to exploit any 1 on 1 matchups in the passing game. Its extremely frustrating to watch our offense. Maybe we should run the wishbone or power I sets from now on...probably would be more effective. I've seen nothing to suggest Orton will ever become a great NFL QB. I've never seen a QB who seems to be closer to the defender than the intended wide receiver on the deep pass more than Orton.
  6. Can we please get a punt returner who can catch the f'n ball?
  7. QUOTE(TLAK @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) They had a deal made and Boras backed out. I'll look it up after the Bears game. With ARod? I'll be willing to bet that's false.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Would be great if the refs would actually not try and be the stars of the game with whistles every possesion. This is one of the worst officiated games I've seen. Arnold just got away with a massive travel/hook on that basket and the foul.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) We have Borchard off the bench for that. I'd rather have Mueller's OBP. Remember, Borchard's days are numbered. Can't he become a FA? Also, I don't think for a second that Mueller will actually turn down the chance to start.
  10. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Does anyone know if he is good defensivley? I thought he was pretty decent but i wasn't sure. His power hitting is his best attribute. I'm sure he plays some 3b and 1b, and remember seeing him in LF also. As a back-up 3b, he's a great fit for a team who lacked righty power off the bench.
  11. I'm a big fan of Feliz's power, and think he can hit 15-20 homers off the bench. Remember, he's played all of his home games in a huge pitcher's park.
  12. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) They still have the most dominant pitcher in the game, and we hit him the way the Lovely Ladies hit against the American Dreams, not much Tremendous reference
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Thank you. It's so obvious that I can't believe I even have to debate it. Reminds me of the debate last night that Zambrano/Prior would be no better than the number 5 starter on the Cubs!
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Oh yah. No question its an upgrade over Rivas and Punto. They sucked. And they did trade from bullpen, even though it was a good prospect. They need run producers though. Not run setter-uppers. I have a feeling they're going to make another move to strengthen their infield. They still have an opening at 3rd base, and wouldn't be shocked at all if they sign Nomar. A lineup with Castillo-Stewart-Nomar-Mauer-Hunter-Morneau is a very solid start, especially with their very strong pitching.
  15. Compared with what they've had recently at 2nd base, Castillo is a massive addition for this team. The Twins definitely traded from a position of strength, which is their bullpen.
  16. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Luis Rivas has more value than Luis Castillo... I hope. WRONG!
  17. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) I am beginning to see why Illinois fans hated Self so much. Kansas fans cannot stand this high-lo BS. I'm pretty sure most Illinois fans loved Self when he was there. The only time I really saw him bashed was after the ND tourney loss.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) I'd rather have Graffy as a No. 2 than Castillo though. And Castillo has Pods like numbers with RISP. I've always thought Graffy could be a good everyday player if given the chance. He showed it with Boston, and when he was starting everyday with KC. I would give him a day off a week against the toughest righty though. So you'd rather have a 1-2 of Pods/Graffanino than Sizemore/Castillo?
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) fixed. He'd be a much better leadoff hitter too if that means anything. Castillo's also a better hitter than Graffy is. I don't think Graffy is an every day player, as his short swing seems to get longer when he plays more than 3 or 4 days in a row.
  20. Castillo is a much, much better player than Tony G.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) YES!!!! THank goodness. Juan Pierre would have been a terrible fit. Thank you Yankees!!!!! I actually agree with you. I think it's time we give one of our young outfielders the chance to prove themselves, and it starts with Anderson this year.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) where are you getting this info? Did you speak to him directly? I would like the link where he says he wants to be a starter. There was a blurb about him on rotoworld a few days ago where it said he was looking to sign with a team where he would start. I think there's a significantly greater chance of Mueller or Burroughs being on this team than Graffy.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) yet he b****es about the MAC not going to the BCS. Trust me, compared to the other main "coach" in the athletic department, Novak is a saint.
  24. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) If the Mueller thing doesn't work out, whats the deal with Graffinino? I know he's not LH but he is still the super sub KW and Ozzie want. He wants to be a starter next season, and I think there are a few teams interested in giving him the starting spot. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back and start at 2nd base for the Royals.
  25. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 06:44 AM) i meant 2004. I should've wrote that. Anybody who thinks Prior or Zambrano could be anything more than a #5 starter on this team right now is delusional. WOW! I'd gladly exchange Prior or Zambrano for Garcia or McCarthy in a heartbeat. I'd also be willing to bet that those two will have a better season than Contreras this year also.
