  1. Personally, I don't think Harris will be on the Sox next year. I think he'll be traded in a minor deal in the next month or so to a team looking for a back-up 2nd baseman.
  2. I'm pretty sure Tony G. is Konerko's best friend in baseball. There won't be any problems bringing him back into the clubhouse.
  3. I just talked to someone very familiar with Tommy John's broadcasting, and while he said he's nothing special as a broadcaster, he does have great stories to tell and is a nice guy.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Lets not? Sorry, I like Frank, and appreciate his work on the South Side, but the big man is gone, and we have new potential HOF in town. Lets hope he wins an MVP award.....
  5. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) If we don't trade Marte, I hope he makes me eat my words and goes back to his old numbers. Otherwise, $2.25 million in 2006 and $3 million in 2007 and 2008 is too much to pay for a bad reliever. In this market, it's sadly not really that bad.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/2005-12...ings-buzz_x.htm A trade with two of the biggest dickheads in sports. What an absolutely terrible trade the Giants made with the Cubs to get Hawkins.
  7. The idea might be also that if you get Burroughs, and hope that he blossoms into the hitter people thought he would be. If he does show the ability, then you can let Crede go next offseason, when he'll likely require a nice chunk of change. I also don't think that Ozzie and Marte can give it another round.
  8. Sean Burroughs is another likely option.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Mueller would be the best option for us if Crede's back makes him miss time but Graffanino isn't a bad fallback plan at all. I agree with this. While Mueller might be our best option, we're clearly not his best option.
  10. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Freel for ELDuqe? Cinny needs pitching.. The last thing the Reds need is a 5 million dollar mediocre starting pitcher who's injury prone. Freel also has some issues off the field which might scare off some teams.
  11. I'd think Crede would get like 4 year, 25 million. He's a defensive stud who's about to be in his prime years. Of course, the back injury could be a concerned. In the post steroid era, Crede put up solid power numbers from the hot corner.
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) Cleveland is peaking at the wrong time for them. Theres no way they're gonna be able to stay with the Sox who are instantly better than last season with the addition of Thome. While I love the Thome move, the Indians can easily compete with the Sox next year. They're an excellent team with a lot of guys reaching their peak. Also, a Pierre for C. Young deal would be AWFUL!
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) You know how most people at this site think Anderson won't really be a step down from Rowand? Well Crawford isn't really that much more in value than Rowand. So what gives? He just fits nicely in the 2-hole? Crawford is so much more of an offensive threat than Rowand, and he's improving each season.
  14. Personally, I don't think there's a chance in hell Crawford will get traded. The guy I've long thought would be traded is Rocco, and the Red Sox could potentially be a great fit if they lose Damon.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:42 AM) However, you and I were about the only ones talking about how once the Sox clinched they would pretty much blow up. It was just a matter of getting the monkey off there back and for them to relax. Also since were dishing out compliments I echo Rowand and Tony's sentiments about you being one of the best posters on this board.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) Sounds like they could potentially try him in CF. If they make this deal we will obviously have downgraded defensively in the OF, but who knows how much. We could make this deal with the thought process that Crawford gets a year in CF, and then we let Pods go after this season. Then, you move Crawford to LF, and put C. Young in CF.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) You did predict Giles to the cubs, I remember that. You know I'm just giving you s*** for the sake of giving you s***, everyone makes bad predictions, that's the way baseball is. I vaguely remember saying there's a better chance of him going to the Cubs than the Sox, but I always thought he was going to stay on the west coast. I always brought up how he had a no-trade clause to the Sox about 4 years ago, and that I doubt his mind changed that much to go there over other bidders. BTW, did we ever find out if the Sox really did offer him a lot of money this offseason?
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Him and I have had this convo before, he knows when I get a chance to take a shot at him, I'm going to. All in good fun of course. I can say that between stating that Ozzie would suck in the playoffs and that PK would go elsewhere, I'm very happy I've been wrong about those things.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) Furcal to the cubs, giles to the cubs, carlos pena and nomar to the sox, Pauly to the Bosox. He hasn't been on his game this offseason. Hey, I never predicted Giles to the Cubs. Also, I was one of the first people on here to predict there was no chance that Rowand would be on the Sox next year. More than any other team, I have better insight into the Tampa organization. They're not going to trade the second best chip in the organization (behind D. Young), to get anything less than stud prospects.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Would Ray Liotta and Sean Tracey combined work, plus Josh Fields I GUARANTEE that Tampa would get a better deal from another team.
  21. You're nuts if you think that Tampa won't require the trade partner to include a big time pitcher/pitching prospect in the deal.
  22. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Sorry to burst your bubble guys, I don't think Brian Anderson is a player....Hopefully they trade for Pierre.
  23. HAHA! Vasher's our 2nd best offensive player after the Jones/Peterson combo.
  24. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) This is totally f***ing pathetic. The Bears can still lose this game. The only potential saving grace if they lose is that they'll seriously consider making a change at QB.
  25. I really hope Moose and Orton don't double date with Miller and Kreutz at the shooting range. Moose might kill him.
