  1. Scouting report on Walker.....he has a very good slider. Our righties have got to lay off of that pitch.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) GOOD SPEED ABOARD. If only AJP was on the bases also. They make Thome look like a speedster.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) And people wonder why I criticize our minor league system. Anderson's loopy swing is continually exploited by major league pitchers. His plate approach isn't exactly good, either. What's funny is he's the best we have in a position of supposed strength. It just seems like the hitters we call up from the majors have a very hard time adjusting to the "speed" of the game. Anderson has no confidence at the plate right now.
  4. Great inning by Vazquez there getting us back in the dugout.
  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) I like how you pull these posts up after something good happens. Try replying to them when they are actually made, rather than later.
  6. Wow....a bases loaded hit from our leadoff man? Way to f'n go Pablo!
  7. We have the worst outfield in baseball so far this season.
  8. Very good swing by PK. The ball is absolutely flying out of the park.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) That was quite the meatball. Vazquez is going to have to keep the ball in the park at the Cell this year. That was the biggest question mark when we brought him over.
  10. Vazquez's stuff is nowhere near what it was last game. He seems to be laboring after every pitch. Not sure if that's the way he typically is.
  11. Overbay just missed that one.
  12. Can we bring back Rickey Henderson to lead off?
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) Ozuna is horrible. I have such a problem with these guys who have no power that aren't protecting themselves. If you have 2 strikes and you're a slap hitter....slap at it!
  14. The 1-2 curve that Vazquez threw for a ball to Wells was absolutely nasty. Safe to say that every single righty hitter on the Sox would have K'd on it.
  15. Another game where I just don't understand the reason for Gload being on this team. It's a shame we can't have a legit back-up to play the outfield against lefty pitchers.
  16. I'd say that Pods probably was CS or picked-off about 32 times last season.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Wow, Cena has never come off as that kind of prima donna to me. Nope, absolutely not. Some of the people I know associated with the business have always thought of him as one of the good guys in the profession.
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) Bobby Jenks? It wasn't fat....IT WAS MUSCLE!
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) It was also reported that he came to camp out of shape and doesn't put the work in to be the best player he can be. No thanks. Let him go to the Yankees, he sounds like a perfect fit for them. I'm not going to complain about his work ethic when he's on one of the worst rosters in the history of baseball. I'm sure that being on a great team and with Ozzie as his manager would solve a lot of issues. Going from Pro Player to the Cell would make him even more dangerous. And yes, I know it's not likely going to happen. I just don't think you can count us out thanks to the Ozzie factor.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) I think I would die if we got him. Seriously, he'd be a perfect fit in Chicago (even though there were rumors about him being an ass in the locker room awhile ago) I think Ozzie would welcome the challenge with Cabrera (who's Venezuelan, I think). Also, Ozzie was with the Marlins when he came up. If we got Cabrera for LF, I wouldn't be upset if we let Buehrle go via FA, and put Fields at 3b for Crede.
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Let me correct my statement: Any relevant Sox player I can remember. Wells, Paniagua and Walker were not relevant. Wells was a fat turd who did nothing. Paniagua lasted what, one game and Kevin Walker hardly pitched. Billy Koch was in a primary position...and boy did he suck.
  22. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) He can rot for all I care, I probably hate him more than any Sox player I've seen in my life. JOSE PANIAGUA! Also, David Wells and Kevin Walker have a special place in Sox history for suckiness.
  23. I know this is probably the wrong thread for this, but with the rumors that Miguel Cabrera might be on the market this coming offseason, it will be interesting to see if Ozzie and company try to make a run at him. He'd be the perfect long-term fit for LF.
  24. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) Sad how people are bailing on Podsednik this quickly. It really is. Once he gets healthy or works back into playing shape, he'll be fine. Here's a question to ponder: Will Pods ever get back to 100 pct? He wouldn't be the first premiere base stealer to having lingering leg injuries completely rob him of his ability to steal bases at a high rate.
  25. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) How soon people forget that he hist a walk-off in the World Series, against one of the best closers in the game. How soon people forget the pansy-ass throw he had in the top of the 9th that allowed the Astros to tie the game! In all seriousness, the bottom line is that we need more production from Pods. He just looks so uncomfortable on the field right now, it's very disturbing. It's too bad that we don't have any other leadoff/LF options.
