  1. I think Ozzie will use Thornton. However, there's really only one lefty in their lineup right now.
  2. Rob....stop swinging at the first pitch.
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) Who is pitching for the Jays tomorrow? Towers? Yes. He gave us trouble last year.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Bengie is a scary, scary hitter in these situations. He's such a strange hitter. A lot of the time, he just throws his bat at the ball, and it will result in bloopers or easy pop ups. Thankfully, we got the latter there.
  5. Fantastic pitches by Buehrle there. Lets get Molina out....PLEASE!
  6. Our pitchers are having a miserable time pitching with a lead.
  7. 3 terrific swings by PK today.
  8. That's just a weak, weak swing. He should be taking a strike in every AB right now.
  9. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) BTW, is Uribe hurt or is Ozzie making a point with 3 games on the pine He's a little dinged up, but I think Ozzie also feels like Cintron is playing better right now. I have no problem with Cintron getting Uribe's ABs, especially against someone like AJB. It's just too bad Cintron can't play CF.
  10. Good, fast inning for Mark. We really could use Pods getting on base here.
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) The three outs that inning took 4 pitches. At least Pods is leading off next inning.
  12. WHERE WOULD HE PLAY? In all seriousness, do we have a hit from our center fielders this week?
  13. 2 straight innings, 2 straight first pitch outs.
  14. Did they really just show a picture of Marquis Grissom for the Cubs game tomorrow?
  15. QUOTE(ShoeLessRob @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) f***, that Curve is sick. Once he fouled off those two fastballs down the cock, the K was elementary.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) Using that same logic Mr. Peesimist Iguchi should''ve been on base, not Thome. The Iguchi pitch was off the plate, but that's a pitch commonly called a strike. However, that Thome pitch shouldn't have been in question.
  17. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) The Joe Crede example above is one of many. Yeah....thank god the umps tried to screw us during the postseason. :headshake
  18. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) Examples please? I sure hope he's being sarcastic.
  19. If Thome connects on one of AJB's fastballs, it's going to go onto the concourse.
  20. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) I didnt realize Rios had so much power, 4 HR this seasons and in BP yesterday he was hitting serious bombs. He's finally starting to pull the ball now. Last year, he was an opposite field hitter. The ball sure does fly off of his bat though.
  21. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) Jesus Christ this ump sucks. Um....he did basically give us 2 runs. That Thome pitch was a very bad call....but I'll take it!
  22. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) Zero? I think there's some, just not a lot. I mean, look at Konerko. He was offered less money here, but came back. And even he has said he wouldn't have been coming back if we didn't offer the extra year on the deal. I think the poster was referring to no loyalty by teams to their players.
  23. QUOTE(chisoxt @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) I think that I noticed his problem in general...While he has great stuff, he seems to more of a thrower than a pitcher in that on rare instances does he ever pitch inside. Last night, on an outside pitch, Troy Glaus hit an opposite field run-scoring double, that in my opinion, changed the momentum of the game. Hawk was commenting on how filfthy the pitch was and how you had to give Glaus credit. This may be true, but there was no way that Glaus could have gotten to that pitch had Vasquez done a better job with his locations of the previous pitches, which were away, away and away. The Glaus AB was similar to the Sweeney/Politte AB from last wknd. Vazquez had thrown like 4 straight fastballs on the outside corner to Glaus. Thus...it was much easier for Glaus to be expecting that pitch in that location. Our pitchers have got to get back to throwing inside again.
  24. QUOTE(SIU SOX @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 04:03 AM) what time does the batting practice begin When do we go to our bullpen?
  25. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 03:53 AM) LOB-28 28 men left on base. Not a good night for Anderson. How many LOB for the rest of the team. In all honesty, this was the worst individual Sox performance by a player since Willie Harris vs the A's right before the ASB last season.
