  1. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) Are you surprised? Not in the least bit. I stopped worrying about the Indians on Wednesday. It's all about the Yanks and Red Sox now for me.
  2. 3-0 Cleveland in the first inning. KC makes an error, and the Indians make them pay for it.
  3. 3-1 Blue Jays lead in the 5th, even though Reed Johnson looks to be trying out for the 2006 White Sox with his base running.
  4. Blue Jays just took the lead 2-1 on a homer by Hinske in the 5th.
  5. 5-2 Boston in the first. Wells is just awful.
  6. Boston would only be up 2-0, if not for Tejada trying to cover 2nd base on a 3-2 pitch. The problem was that there were 2 outs, and absolutely no reason to cover the base. Tejada sure hasn't done the Sox any favors this wknd.
  7. That loud noise is the Kyle Orton bandwagon coming to a screeching halt.
  8. 5-0, and still hitting in the first.
  9. 4-0 Boston in the first. GO f*** YOURSELF BALTIMORE!
  10. Boston's up 2-0 in the first, and Yanks are up 1-0 in the 3rd.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) You really want your leadoff man hitting a lot of HR's or Furcal in the 2 hole hitting them driving in not only himself but Pods too. Why does it matter where they bat, they're only leadoff hitter once in the game? I've always thought it gives the lineup a boost when the 9th hitter can get on and do some damage, because when the leadoff hitter roles around, there's a sense of danger.
  12. BTW, if this team got Furcal by some miracle, I'd put him leadoff, and tell Pods to go hit zero homers in the 9th spot.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) for Hermanson. Hopefully the whole f***ing team was listening to him last night, because that was the best TEAM effort I have seen in a while. Guys were bunting, hitting the other ways, and trying to move runners along. Only a week more to go guys... Yes, I saw a lot more concentration at the plate by our hitters. PK had some terrific swings, and Dye had a great AB for the homer (even though Mays had nothing). Ironically, Everett was still swinging out of his ass on every pitch. His approach at the plate has been selfish for a long time.
  14. Two things on Furcal: - maybe it's me, but he doesn't strike me as the type of player who's going to give you 100 percent after he gets his big contract. - WE'RE NOT GOING TO WIN A BIDDING WAR FOR FURCAL! The Cubs have made them their number 1 target, he's very close with Aramis, and the Cubs have a ton of money to spend this offeseason.
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Why will his numbers go up? A hunch. I dont think a lack of production when it comes to HR's is really that big a deal.. I mean, look at how many the Sox have hit this year.. Until he starts hitting that righty slider, he's going to continue to struggle at the plate. His K/BB ratio is awful this season, and teams have learned how to pitch him.
  16. I'm sure Hendry will find some way to get Nomar to sign for like 2/12.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) His home is TBIA (The Ballpark in Arlington). Everyone is good there. It's not like the Sox play in a pitcher's park. And as for Thome, I've heard the Phillies will pick up between 33 and 50 pct of his deal. You'd have to make sure he's healthy though.
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Yes, but why would we trade for him if we already have someone that good? Because he's still a damn good hitter at home. His defense is solid, and he gives us a lefty threat that we've been lacking for a while.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Im not saying we should offer him 18 million off the bat, but if LAAAAAA does offer $15/5, then yea, I would go $18m. And you could say adios to AJP and Garland.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Blalocks away numbers in the last 3 years: .242/.306/.426/.732 with 28 HR and 91 RBI in 669 AB So on the road, he's Joe Crede all the time?
  21. Felix.....no player is going to get 18 million now. If there was one player who would, it was going to be Beltran.
  22. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) If he can show he's still somewhat healthy, i think there may be a few biters out there Do you really think any team will believe he's healthy? He's proven over the last few years he can only make a certain amount of starts before breaking down. It's not like he's on the last year of a one million dollar deal. He's scheduled to make like 5 mil next year, I thought.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) Glad a packed house got to see a great game. I'm also glad Rowand and Anderson didn't collide on that play.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) It also matters what happens this October...if we march through a few rounds and Jose steps up as big as he has been of late...then would you want to be the one who takes a piece out of a pitching staff that could have 5 15 game winners next year? If PK leaves, then yes, we're not going to have 5 15 game winners next season with the offense we'd be left with.
