  1. I'm seeing a lot of posts that say "If we lose tomorrow, we're done". Says who? There's a definite chance we'll lose the game tomorrow. You know what, even if we do....we still lead the Indians by 4.5 games. It's been obvious for a few days now that our playoff situation would revolve around how we do against the Indians. It's up to Ozzie to keep this team together. Don't give up on this team though. They're going to need our support more than ever next week against a superior team in the Indians.
  2. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:49 AM) FATHOM, here we go again. We scored 9 RUNS, and we had Garcia pitching against the lowly Royals. Now that we lost the game, you BLAMED Ozzie for the lost! Seriously, how old are you? Your statements are very childish! Without Ozzie, this team DEFINITELY will not be leading AL Central division right now. You want to come back to Jerry Manuel??? Says who? BTW, I was blaming Ozzie for this game being so close well before Hermanson s*** the bed. How can so many people not understand our argument that Ozzie let the Royals have a chance in this game by letting Garcia start the 6th?
  3. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) Very overlooked fact. FACT. Our starters have ALL been left out there way too long, and as we come down the stretch, the gas tanks are empty... Remember how much Dusty got blasted when the Cubs starters collapsed in 2003? This is just as blatant.
  4. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) Oh yes. Lets blame them for having the best record in the AL (and MLB for most of the year). Felix....read what he f***ing said. He said something along the lines of "maybe we need better players".
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:44 AM) 2 run lead going into the 9th, your closer gets the first out then falls apart and they lose the game. Blame the player, he's the guy who didn't get it done. You blame the manager after every single loss. Considering I said I don't blame him for the Hermanson debacle, I think you're out of line. Get off my back, because unlike a lot of people who are free falling off the bandwagon, I've been voicing my complaints about Ozzie's managing all season.
  6. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:41 AM) I know I know. But I put my heart and soul into this team as I'm sure the rest of you do and when you see the team and the season falling apart in just rips your heart and soul out. Maybe I'll just donkey punch my wife instead. Trust me, I've put so much time and energy into this team. Then, it hit me about 3 weeks ago that there's no reason to get too worked up about them. We're not talking about a once in a lifetime talented Sox team that if we don't win it all this year, we'll regret it for the rest of our lives. Look at our team...it's a solid bunch of players that have had a lot of pitchers have career years. Hey, we're still 5 games up. In the past, these choke jobs equated to the Sox being about 3 games behind the Twins.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:41 AM) You did. For the record, you mention every debacle. Sometimes three or four times. Sorry....this is an absolute debacle/choke job/collapse. However you want to call it.
  8. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:39 AM) Ozzie's in a slump Ozzie started using his pitchers way too long the first week after the ASB, when he left Garcia in the game until the 9th inning against the Tigers in a game that he had thrown a ton of pitches and had nothing left. Since then, he's been very hesistant to trust the bullpen.
  9. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:38 AM) Maybe they need better players who can execute better, what a concept that might be. Well, these are Ozzie and KW's players. That's one thing they have no one to blame for but themselves.
  10. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) I've been waiting for someone to bring up this guy...you know...the guy who actually blew the game. I'm pretty sure I mentioned his debacle in the initial thread.
  11. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) I we get killed tomorrow, I will kill myself. But that does sound about right for this team. I'm sure with a day game we will see the b team tomorrow. Don't take things too seriously. I hate to say it, but this team isn't worth putting that much amount of stress on your life.
  12. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) you just don't even know what to say anymore, you can feel the impending doom. watch us get blown out tommorow. If we lose tomorrow, we're in a lot of trouble. With a very tough rookie on Friday, and then Johan on Saturday, you're looking at possibly our 3rd 4 game losing streak in about a month.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:34 AM) I feel like closing down PHT for the night. Personally, things seem to be pretty civil. At least we'll see none of these being posted tomorrow:
  14. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Maybe it has a little bit to do with individual performances. But I guess Mark, Jon and Freddy pitching like s*** in the second half is Ozzie's fault. Same thing with Pods getting hurt, Hermy's back problems, Marte's flakiness, etc. I'm not saying it's the direct cause of the struggles, but maybe next year, Ozzie will maybe take out our starting pitchers an inning early every 5th starter or so in order to try and save some in the tank for the end of the season. Also, we can't really complain about injuries. We've been pretty damn healthy compared to most teams this season.
  15. QUOTE(Allsox @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) He's been hitting well but WTF was he doing on Berroa's "triple"? Just cementing his reputation as a terrible defensive player. Also, anytime he wants to get a hit with the bases loaded, that would be cool with me.
  16. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) WHY is it that our starting pitching staff all of the sudden has been so DAMN TERRIBLE lately? Every single one of them! What is going on with them? They better wise up, wake up and start pitching like there's no tomorrow; otherwise, we will never see OUR postseason this year! GOT 9 RUNS AND STILL LOST TO THE LOWLY ROYALS! Some people might argue they've hit the wall after throwing so many pitches all season.
  17. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) That is the criticism on Ozzie. He tends to stay with these starters to long when they ain't got it. Other then that he doesn't hit or field And that's all I was blaming him for tonight. However, if the ship goes down, usually the captain is the one who goes down with it.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) The title of the thread should be towards Freddy Garcia. We stake the guy nine f***ing runs, against the KANSAS CITY f***ING ROYALS, AND YOU CAN'T KEEP 'EM UNDER SIX?!?!!?!?!?!!?!?! Gosh damnit, I'm embarassed. I'm embarassed to be a Sox fan right now. This is f***ing horrible. He had gone 5 innings, and allowed 5 runs. Not a great start, but good enough that when you score 9 runs, you should win.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:19 AM) So its Ozzie's fault that the Sox couldnt field tonight? I hate how he gets the blame when they do poorly. Yes, he's made some questionable calls, but for the most part of the season, those calls have won games. So stop whining when they lose a few. The Sox had total control of this game at 9-5 heading into the bottom of the 6th. Garcia clearly had nothing tonight, and just busted his ass to get out of the 5th inning with 91 pitches thrown. So, why bring him out to start the next inning? That is the move by Ozzie I'm criticizing tonight....and it's a common managing problem he's had all season. He has no clue when to pull his starters.
  20. QUOTE(Beastly @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) This is THE worst loss I've seen the White Sox play in. EVER. The loss last year where Valentin dropped the foul ball against the Twins when the standings were much closer was a harder loss to take for me. Credit goes to Hawk, he didn't like the feel of the game all night.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) STFU this time Fathom, STFU. This is not Ozzies fault tonight. For once blame the players. This is all on there shoulders tonight. The 6th inning was simply horrible managing. Go look in the gamethread...you'll see that everyone could tell Garcia was done with. The blame for this game goes directly to Garcia and Hermanson, but this game should have never been this close.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) Can I have a motion to get a certain pitcher who is in my sig who throws 100 in as the official closer before Mr. Badback does this s*** again. This and El Duque in the rotation is going to f*** us. Hermanson deserved the closing spot until he blew one more game. He did, and he should be removed from the spot. With the way he was throwing tonight, Dye's errors didn't mean s***.
  23. This is the type of game which can easily be the beginning of the end for a team. This was one of the worst losses I can remember for the White Sox.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) There were 2 or 3 plays in the outfield in which our outfielders just couldnt handle the ball.. More like 4
  25. QUOTE(Beastly @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) f*** this s***. If we go to the playoffs like this, we truely are garbage. We're not going to the playoffs if we play like this.
